Changing American English to British English

[edit]

I thought it was strange that this article which primarily discusses libraries in the US suddenly uses the British "modernise" in the second line. I then noticed that this bot converted "modernize" to "modernise while removing {{drafts moved from mainspace}}. Is this bot accidentally enforcing preference for British English spelling because of how it uses the Oxford English Dictionary? Photos of Japan (talk) 07:49, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Liz made that edit, not a bot. The article's talk page is the best place to discuss which variety of English to use there. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:45, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake, I was also looking at the wrong diff. The edit in question was made by The 64 Squares. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:47, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, I was looking at the differences between revisions without realizing when I looked at your bot's edits, and then somehow replicated this error again (but with Liz) when I linked the diff. I don't have any particular concerns with which English is used here, I was just concerned about the potential of a bot making these determinations.
But your bot is doing no such thing. It seems like a good bot. Apologies for the misunderstanding. Photos of Japan (talk) 21:35, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Was supposed to be merged and deleted per this discussion[1] but you didn't do it. The other categories nominated for merging at that discussion were merged and deleted by you.Lost in Quebec (talk) 19:06, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Santa Rosa image at Draft: Grace Shipping Company

[edit]

Is it possible to use the image of the 1958 SS Santa Rosa based on Grace Shipping having owned the Santa Rosa and any copyrighted images of the ship? Starlighsky (talk) 02:24, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the notice at the top of this page. Non-free images are not permitted in drafts per WP:NFCC#9. — JJMC89 05:25, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand now. Thanks. Starlighsky (talk) 13:34, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page watcher) Just going to add that it's going to pretty hard to establish a consensus at WP:FFD in favor of using that file or any non-free image of that ship on the page per WP:NFCC#1 (WP:FREER) and WP:NFCC#8 (WP:NFC#CS and item 6 of WP:NFC#UUI) even if the draft someday becomes an article. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:29, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, thanks. Starlighsky (talk) 13:26, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Template category mess again

[edit]

The bot was set off once more even though the cache still hasn't processed thousands of articles. I've reverted the Large page to NO BOTS and will try to get the instructions over the Manual once my browser allows me. Please can you delete the task from the bot.
