Great! To quote the source you'll need to use {{Cite book}}. Just copy and paste this {{cite book |title= |last= |first= |authorlink= |coauthors= |year= |publisher= |location= |isbn= |page= |pages= |language= |url= |accessdate=}} and delete any parts not used. Ok, but it's too more that a book, it's my own memory.(JG-Brill (talk) 15:41, 10 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Hi JG, please help me understand why we've moved this from "Maschinenbauanstalt Humboldt" to "Maschinenbau Anstalt Humboldt". A Maschinebauanstalt is an engineering works; the word Anstalt in this compound noun meaning "workshop". AFAIK it was never called "Maschinenbau Anstalt Humboldt", not surprisingly as that implies "Anstalt" is a proper name like "Andrew" which it isn't. The German article says it started life as Maschinenbau A.G. Humboldt and later became Maschinenbauanstalt Humboldt A.G. ("A.G." just means PLC). Cheers. --Bermicourt (talk) 17:15, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

When I was reading the page on South West African Zwillinge, I saw a builder wich was unknow for me: Anstalt. I look on a list of Zwellinglok Builder-number and I saw Maschinenbau-anstalt Humboldt. I saw this form of inscription on a works plate engine picture. Then, I understand, that in fact , it's an Humboldt engine. Cordialy JG-Brill (talk) 22:43, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such manufacturer as "Anstalt"; the word just means "factory" or "workshop". You wouldn't say "this locomotive was built by Factory". South West African Zwillinge is inconsistent and even misspells the name. Yes it refers to "Maschinenbau Anstalt Humboldt", but it also calls it "Machinenbau Anstalt" (misspelling: it's "Maschinenbau" with an "s" and misses out the factory name) and "Maschinenbau-Anstalt Humboldt". Actually the whole article needs attention from a translator as "Zwillinge" should be "Zwilling", the German name of the article, or "South West African double locomotive". Searching on Google books briefly, there are 8,670 hits for "Maschinenbau-Anstalt Humboldt", mostly older articles and mostly in German, and 6,270 for "Maschinenbauanstalt Humboldt", mostly more recent articles and many in English. So either of those titles is acceptable. I could find no examples of "Maschinenbau Anstalt Humboldt". Please would you move the article back to its original common English title. --Bermicourt (talk) 06:36, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Anciens Établissements Cail moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Anciens Établissements Cail, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Hello, JG-Brill. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Anciens Établissements Cail".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Abelmoschus Esculentus 09:03, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Sliding on the Rail" (Françoise Dorléac)

[edit]

Hi,

I deleted the phrase "sliding on the rail" from the article Françoise Dorléac because I didn't understand what it meant, and having researched the subject a little more, I still don't. Could you explain what you mean? My French reading comprehension is fairly good, if that helps.
