- Thanks for the star! I'm glad you are enjoying contributing to Wikipedia. I found all the information that I added by simply googling her name. A few suggestions:
- 1. Use a stub tag to identify new stubs, such as {{musical-theat-stub}}.
- 2. Add a project tag to the new article's talk page. Just cut and paste one from another article.
- 3. You can get categories just by cutting and pasting them from a similar article. For Sayre, I just went To Kristen Chenoweth's page and selected a few of her categories, since they're both singers and actresses.
- All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:12, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
DYK for Loretta Ables Sayre
On May 10, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Loretta Ables Sayre, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

This user constantly vandalizes wikipiedia. He was giving a final warning and vandalized the same page minutes later. I saw that you have warned him before so I was hoping you will block him.--JDDJS (talk) 21:17, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, he won't be vandalizing anytime soon for now, as i blocked him for a week (And seeing his edits, i presume it is a static IP). However, for these kind of cases you should normally create a report at WP:AIAV, the centralized page for reporting vandalism. The amount of admins watching this page is a lot higher then the amount on my talk page and therefor such reports tend to be actioned a lot sooner - if i would be sleeping no one might have seen the report in hours.
- Regardless, thanks for reporting him. As you appear to be a new account allow me to give you some advice as well. First and foremost you may want to consider using specialized tools if you plan to spend a reasonable amount of time on a certain activity. Since you marked yourself as a vandalism patrol you might want to consider Twinkle, which allows you to place one-click warnings, among other features. Another action worth considering - if you have spend some more time patrolling - is requesting the rollback privilege which allows you to revert all edits made by a single user with just one mouseclick - as opposed to undoing which requires multiple clicks while only undoing one edit at a time.
- Rollback is also the prerequisite for using most of the popular vandalism patrol tools such as Huggle. Due to their speed and the damage they could cause if used incorrectly they require this privilege which will be granted on request, provided that your edits indicate that your judgment regarding vandalism is sound. These tools allow for much faster and convenient patrol then manually monitoring the recent changes list does. Again, welcome. And if you would have questions don't hesitate to ask them. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 21:33, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for blocking him and the advice. The reason I asked you directly is because the last time I reported an IP address, it took for ever to go throw. By the time they were done, somebody else already blocked him for other vandalizme. This IP Address seemed determined to vandalize the Quebec City article having vandalizing it after it was reverted. I wanted to make sure he got blocked before he vandalized more. Again thanks for the block and advice.--JDDJS (talk) 21:49, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- Since you metioned, I want to know when will a user be justified in asking for rollback access? I am willing to wait for it but I don't want to have to wait longer than needed.--JDDJS (talk) 22:16, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, there is no set quota a user has to reach. A user has to demonstrate that he or she is serious about doing some vandalism patrol (EG: editors who only reverted twice in two years don't exactly qualify), while also providing enough edits to allow the evaluating sysop to check if the user in question can use the tool responsibly. But as an indication, a hundred or more reverts combined with 400-500 total edits should be more then sufficient in most cases. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 22:31, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

I recently saw your request for adminship on The Test Wiki. In order for it to be approved, you have to edit your userpage to say something like "I am also JDDJS at The Test Wiki". That way, a bureaucrat or steward can look at your userpage's history and see that you made that edit, which proves you are the same person here as on The Test Wiki. 95j (talk) 01:56, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

List of actors considered for the James Bond character
Yes, I made this edit last month, but I don't vandalized this page. Look on Google and search for: "Robert Pattinson as James Bond". In fact, Robert Pattinson wants to play the role of James Bond, but he has been rejects because he is dirty and for others reason. So, I think he was put in the right categories. And also, I don't understand why you say that I vandalized the page ... there was a source for this actor!
Some other source can help you:
http://www.jamesbondwiki.com/page/Robert+Pattinson+as+007%3F
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ0lU5w8Qj0

I hope you will solve the problem, because I do not vandalize this Wikipedia page. Seiken Flame (talk • contribs) 20:44, 4 July 2010
Possible reliable source for Pattinson as Bond
I have another source for the reject of Pattinson as Bond:
http://www.celebtv.com/?s=Robert+Pattinson+James+Bond (This is the first source I've found last month, but it's a youtube video on CelebTV website...) (It's also said that it's because of his "lack of personal hygiene and physical agility" that he can't play the role)
http://www.celebuzz.com/robert-pattinson-wont-next-james-s181991/
http://momento24.com/en/2010/03/26/for-dirty-and-smelly-robert-pattinson-can-not-be-james-bond/ (Sloppy, dirty and smelly image)
http://www.wambie.com/tuttifrutti_us/news/ROBERT_PATTINSON_WILL_NOT_PLAY_JAMES_BOND-new_en-2776.html (Old rummor that had gone around about him being smelly)
http://www.limelife.com/blog-entry/Robert-Pattinson-Not-Right-To-Play-James-Bond/38982.html (2 reasons why he can't play the role)
Yes, it's probably also because of his age that he can't be the next James Bond, but I didn't found any source about this. All of them says that it's because of his hygiene. And also, I'll try to add other information on any Wikipedia articles with a source relieable, next time! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seiken Flame (talk • contribs) 14:06, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism fighting tools
{{helpme}} I already have twinkle. What difference will it make if I get Rollback, Huggle or another tool? Which is the most effective? JDDJS (talk) 18:14, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Rollback is just faster. Huggle+Rollback is effective, but you must make sure to check every edit to avoid mistakes. —fetch·comms 18:29, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- What happens if I rollback an edit that looks like vandalism but is not? Can I just restore the original? --JDDJS (talk) 18:33, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, you can restore the original, but it is better to be careful before using the rollback tool. I try to make sure that something is a real error before I delete or undo it. I have been a rollbacker for a long time, but I very rarely use rollback. I mostly only use it when I am dealing with a vandalism-only account. Is it against copyrighting rules to copy another Wikipedia article? I want to make an article for Princess Daisy and super mario wiki has an article that would be good after some changes. JDDJS (talk) 16:04, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- The Super Mario Wiki is a separate wiki that has nothing to do with Wikipedia. However, you can see at the bottom of Super Mario Wiki's page that its content is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license, which means that you can copy and modify it, but you must attribute the work to the original source. The best way to do that is to add a link to the original page on the Super Mario Wiki in the edit summary when you add the content. Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 16:27, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Reviewer permission
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:50, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Your request for rollback
Hi JDDJS/Archive 1. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Tiptoety talk 21:06, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'd just like to echo what Tiptoety said at PERM/R- please be careful. Only use rollback where you would currently use Twinkle's big red vandalism button. For everything else, use the big green AGF button or the undo button. Also, bear in mind the utter mess that can be made by some of the scripts rollback gives you access to. Let me know if you need anything. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:11, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- Don't worry I'll be careful. I won't make you look bad for defending me. I will only use rollback when necessary. JDDJS (talk) 21:15, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

- He made several vandalism edits to that one page. It wasn't just a minor thing. Why should there be need to give him 4 chances to vandalize pages? JDDJS (talk) 22:04, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

- Well I often use level 2 on blatant vandalism because it just gives them too many chances when I use level 1. I do use level 1 when it's not inappropriate, offensive, or attacks. I only use level 4 as the first in extreme cases. This is just my policy for IP users. I am very harsh because I have never seen a new user whose first was blatant vandalism ever positively contribute. JDDJS (talk) 22:33, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Help
{{helpme}} I want to start a new discussion about deleting articles. Where should I go to start it? JDDJS (talk) 05:16, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- It depends on what you intend. If it's specific to a particular deletion process then you might want to start on a particular processes' talk page, such as WT:CSD, WT:AfD, WT:PROD, WT:IFD and so on. If it's about a particular basis for deletion, you might want to start the discussion on the concept's talk page, such as WT:N. If it's more generally about the policy on deletion as a whole, you probably want to go to the policy section of the Village Pump, or if it's a specific proposal regarding deletion mechanics, your best bet is the proposals section of the Village Pump. I've tried to lay out the possibilities, but if you repost here with a precis of what you intent to post about, I or another can offer more tailored advice.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 05:24, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well a user requested an article for deletion twice in less then a year, so I want to discuss limiting the amount of times a user can tag an article for deletion. JDDJS (talk) 05:37, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- This has been discussed before—quite a few times, though it would be difficult to find all the instances. However, I recall a recent discussion and have located it. See Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 63#the time between AfD nominations for an article. I think if after reading that you still wish to post about it, village pump policy is your best option, though WT:AfD would work too, though it's certainly not as high traffic.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 06:19, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

User page
I had fun playing with your page. You now have the second nicest user page on Wikipedia (according to my screen anyways) and I've looked at many hundreds.
If you like the page like that, you can start putting the userboxes in the order that you like. Maybe wiki related at top and personal stuff in the second and third areas, the rest bury in the collapsed part. As your text increases or decreases you'll have to change the number of userboxes to keep the layout nice. It's up to you but you might want to remove the invitation for others to edit.
I've tried many things and just can't figure out how to make the userboxes at the bottom work - wierd! You'll figure it out - meanwhile I just swept it under the collapsable "Userboxes Need Fixing" carpet. Slightsmile (talk) 18:02, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

I have been editing List of Phineas and Ferb characters for awhile now. I have cut out many of the minor characters. Then a user undoes all of my edits. Now I simply reverted it back and explained on his talk page that he/she shouldn't do things like that. I was curious if he just rolled it backed so I at the history of the page and found the version he/she restored it too. It was 117 revisions and almost a month ago. Is it possible to revert something that far back? Or must've it been simply a copy and paste edit? --JDDJS (talk) 22:27, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Wiki's store all past revions of a page, so opening an old revision will show the content at that exact date. If the content is saved afterwards, it will effectively create a new version that is identical to the old one that was opened (Thus it is practically possible to retrieve and save any old edit in the history). I hope that answers the question? Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 22:52, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yes it is possible. It can be done manually or with twinkle if you do the "restore this version" function. If a user edited a page 117 times after another user did and someone used rollback it would revert all 117 versions as long as they are from the same user. Inka888 22:55, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we periodically do to keep our membership up-to-date.
All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. On 23 December, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Administrator intervention against vandalism
Thanks for your reports at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. However, you should normally only report after a vandal has had at least a few warnings, and has continued to vandalise. Administrators will not normally take action on someone who has made only one or two edits, and been warned only once or not at all, except in really extreme cases (such as serious libel). JamesBWatson (talk) 22:05, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Why not? There not IP addresses. When an editors first edits are vandalism, there is basically no chance they'll make good faith edits in the future. When blocking accounts you're only blocking the one vandal and not IP addresses which might include good faith editors. JDDJS (talk) 22:08, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Most often what you say is true, and I think I am more willing to block after a minimal amount of editing than many admins, provided that minimal amount is all or nearly all vandalism. However, we do get some editors who start off sort of trying out Wikipedia editing by playing around, and later settle down to become constructive editors. It is in fact surprisingly common for someone to do a few vandalism edits and then to stop when they get a message telling them to. However, if someone makes a silly childish edit, gets a fairly mild note asking them to stop, does the same again, gets a sterner warning that they will be blocked if they carry on, and then does the same again, I think we are getting to the stage of saying "enough is enough". I certainly don't take the view, which many Wikipedians do, that a vandal always has to go through a level one warning, then levels two, three, four, and can only be blocked if they vandalise a fifth time. I now have blocked User:Interstate 35 2010, the vandal you reported who then created another nonsense page. Thanks for telling me that this account had vandalised again, so that I was able to step in. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:36, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- It's also important to recognize the difference between constructive edits, vandalism, and well-intentioned edits that are failing to hit the mark. Before one can warn, especially vandal warn, a new contributor, one must have a clear understanding of WP:CSD. One should also recognize that well-intentioned new users make mistakes. They need to be educated and given every opportunity to learn. The warning process is part of the coaching/education process. We lose nothing by giving new users that opportunity to learn. Misuse of CSD warnings is even more damaging to the project that mistakenly creating a FaceBook entry on Wikipedia, or a joke page, or a glaring display of ignorance. While the learning curve is longer for the CSD tagger, the consequences of not learning from one's mistakes can be the same. Dlohcierekim 13:26, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Sockpuppets
{{helpme}}
while looking at Murray Enders I noticed that 2 users without any edits outside of this page had similar names, User:Samuelclements200 and User: Sam Clements1. It seems like these users may be sock-puppets, but it does not appear that they were in made in bad faith. If I had to guess, i would say that the creator didn't know about the sockpuppet rules. My question is, what is the appropriate response to this? Should I ask them about on their pages? Or should I just let it play out? JDDJS (talk) 04:06, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like they started under the "1" account, and must have changed their mind about their username and created the "200" account. Per WP:SOCK this is not recommended, but at the same time it is not prohibited unless they are doing it disruptively. I'll ping them to confirm. 7 05:39, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Cartoon Sexuality
The admin WhisperToMe (talk) is adament about adding sections about the possible homosexuality of the cartoon characters below. These sections are all based on the opinions of one man, JP Dennis, in one paper he wrote. Dennis is a gay man himself who seems to write exclusively about gay issues, so in my opinion, it's not surprising that he sees homosexuality where there is none. Also, there are already complete articles regarding this topic (LGBT themes in comics, LGBT themes in speculative fiction). If you believe these sections would place undue weight on this topic (which I believe is a non-issue), please comment on the talk pages below, otherwise WhisperToMe will add these sections back. Thanks in advance for your input.

{{helpme}} I don't know how to officially submit it, but I need another opinion on this page. In the show Psych, the character Burton Guster, Gus, is always introduced by a random made up name that is different each time. Now one user wants all of those names to be in the info box, which now makes the infobox as long as the article. I feel that not every single name should be mentioned. I want another opinion on the matter (preferably an admin or an experienced editor) JDDJS (talk) 04:37, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Heffer and Dennis
You know, I have a crazy idea. I wonder how Joe Murray would respond to the Dennis article's claims about one of his characters (Heffer).
He has a blog and a personal website. I could e-mail him and ask him what he thinks about the comments, and maybe send the article to him so he can look at it. Then Murray could write a blog post with his response. It can help establish the "mainstream view" and it could answer the question whether, in the case of Heffer Wolfe specifically, Dennis's comments are fringe. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:43, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- That will be nice to know what he thinks. Even if it's not useful it'll be interesting. JDDJS (talk) 01:28, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Although an AfD was started for this article in the past, the article was speedy deleted in the first few hours of the AfD. CSD G4 only applies where the page was previously deleted as the outcome of a deletion discussion - that's not the case here.
I'm not sure if the article would survive a full AfD, or even how I'd vote on it if it went there, but neither G4 nor A7 applies to the current article.
Cheers,

Velma
Hey! I found two sources about supposed hidden meanings from Scooby Doo articles - One from Newsweek, one from the Philly Enquirer. Wikipedia:WikiProject_Resource_Exchange/Resource_Request#Scooby_Doo_articles_in_newsweek_and_Philly_Enquirer - I opened resource requests for both so I can get the full articles. So once they are posted, if you want, download them.
From the Google News previews, both refer to fan rumors that Daphne and Freddy are in a relationship and that Velma likes girls. I'll see if I can find more about this, but the good news is that it means that this content could save all of the Scooby Doo character articles from being merged. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:33, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- I got the Newsweek one from LexisNexis.
- If you want a copy of that article, I'll be happy to e-mail it.
- WhisperToMe (talk) 17:03, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
- I got the full Philly article too. Not only was there speculation, but the makers of the Scooby Doo originally put in references making fun of the rumors of Velma being gay - the article states that there was a scene where Velma and Daphne kiss. That scene was taken out of the movie.
- Also the article states "Screenwriter James Gunn, though, said he's "pretty sure she's gay."" while Cardellini (actress who portrayed Velma in films) stated that she didn't believe she was.
- So, now we do have the refs to put in rumors of Velma being gay.

Everybody edits
You don't need to delete a PROD template before requesting a speedy deletion, as you did with Everybody edits. By leaving it in place, even if a speedy is declined for a technical reason (as is likely in this case, as a computer game is not one of the categories for the speedy delete option you used), the PROD can continue. By deleting the prod, you make it look as though someone objected to the PROD, which is all it takes to kill a PROD. --Nat Gertler (talk) 22:33, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Mega Drive to Sega Genesis?
- The Sega Genesis was the most successful brand of the Mega Drive, with sales accounting for over 55% of the consoles sold bearing the name "Sega Genesis."
- There are more native English speaking people in North America than everywhere else in the world combined, and Sega Genesis turns up more google search results than Sega Mega Drive.
- Sega Genesis was the brand that was first presented to English speaking consumers,
- Genesis name is used on GameFAQs, GameSpot, GameRankings and other CNET websites, as well as MobyGames, Ebay, and Amazon.com. These are sites a user new to the subject would go to, and are considered valid resources for Wikipedia articles within context.
- To date, no equal importance third-party websites shown using the Mega Drive name as a primary have been presented in this discussion.
- Sega continues to use Genesis branding for North America releases. See Sega Genesis Collection.
- Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English), most English references used in the article use the name "Sega Genesis" or simply "Genesis".
- People new to the subject are more common for English speakers to encounter it as "Sega Genesis" due to the primary hubs used for information on video games for said group.
- Genesis name is much more common to produce results in search engines over Mega Drive.
- Original name doesn't matter - only common name.
Ten reasons. Wow that's a lot.--SexyKick 01:54, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

I completely appreciate you getting the ball rolling on this one, since you were so good with the Eggman article even though people prefer Robotnik over Eggman, you fact navigated quickly and effectively, and I can only list these facts to you. If you're unwilling to do so soon, then that's a shame, though I do appreciate your opt in for support, it will most likely be a few months until I would try to start this myself. I hope I can count on you then, or that you'll change your mind regarding not starting the change yourself. It's probably wise to wait anyway I guess.--SexyKick 05:21, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

I want to bring up a policy discussion about the use of non-free images for TV characters over the use of free images of the actors. Where should I start it? JDDJS (talk) 18:51, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- I would suggest Wikipedia talk:Non-free content Ronhjones (Talk) 19:46, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- I would start off by requesting input on Wikipedia:WikiProject Television and perhaps a note on WP:MCQ and/or Wikipedia talk:Non-free content to direct others to the discussion.
- That would be, to get some opinions of others, and to formulate the idea more clearly.
- Once you have a reasonably clear idea of a proposed change to policy, then WP:VPP would be the place. Chzz ► 19:48, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

This is would allow it on the pages I want it to, but not every Wiki page. I thought this one will be more popular and less liberal than Soundvisions1's suggestion. I know you're against both, but which one do you like better. JDDJS (talk) 04:11, 11 February 2011 (UTC)In general, a screenshot of the character in the infobox of the article about the character should be considered acceptable, unless there are specific special reasons for believing that it may be possible to get a free image of the actor in character.
- Where wouldn't it allow it? I think we need to get back to the abstract question, rather than the specific one. We're discussing a specific case without really understanding the overall abstract situation. It isn't just characters we're talking about here really. If we permit this sort of use, then we could permit non-free use for just about every conceivable article about any work of creativity. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:04, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:JDDJS/Sandbox
A tag has been placed on User:JDDJS/Sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. JDDJS (talk) 23:51, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
The Jhargram Palace
Hi, I'm just dropping by to let you know I removed your CSD from The Jhargram Palace. In my opinion the article is about a building, and therefor does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion under criteria A7. I suggest using an alternative deletion process, either a PROD or AFD nomination, if you still think the article should be deleted. Monty845 22:56, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- Seems I'm being redundant, the article was deleted A10, as a copy of Jhargram Palace. Monty845 22:59, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Phineas and Ferb's Musical Cliptastic Countdown
After your comment about missing references I have made a copy of the article in my sandbox, where I have added new references and started making the episode summary a bit easier to read by adding some line breaks. I will continue to work on the summary, but do you think the references are okay in the sandbox version so I can recreate the article with it?
Datagutten (talk) 20:29, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- The references are better but in my opinion not good enough. Youtube isn't a valid reference. Also, before recreating, shorten the plot summary. If you at least fix the plot summary I promise I won't redirect it again without at least having a discussion. JDDJS (talk) 20:42, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension
Can you please rename the Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension page to Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension? The movie's logo uses "2nd" instead of "Second". Amazon.com also uses "2nd" for the movie's official merchandise. MichaelF04 (talk) 10:28, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I realized that all of the American Dad! episode pages are in horrible shape and should be deleted or merged, but I don't know how I should go around doing this. JDDJS (talk) 02:16, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Nathan Lowell deleted from Wikipedia?
Nathan Lowell *is* notable, and if he "admitted" that he wasn't, he was just being modest. His books have a huge fanbase, he's written at least 8 books already, and if you're holding it against him that he publishes most of his work under the "Creative Commons" license that Wikipedia itself uses, well, thats just wrong...
Here are some reviews of his books I've found just now by googling:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3766428-double-share http://www.cybermage.se/tag/golden-age-of-the-solar-clipper/ http://www.freenovelbooks-and-bargain.com/2011/05/half-share-solar-clipper-trader-tales.html http://www.bibliobanter.com/book-review-quarter-share-solar-clipper-trader-tales/
here is a list of interviews he's done (and I assure you, he was sought out, not the other way around): http://solarclipper.com/interviews/
Here are some comments from fans about his works:
http://solarclipper.com/fan-forums/ http://durandus.org/fans/
He's a notable author if, for no other reason, he can make a mundane life both inspiring and eminently readable.
He's probably the most popular author available on podiobooks, even though there are many authors on there with publishing houses behind them. (Go ahead and verify this with them...)

Actually, I've just deleted the contents of the page I created. I've decided that I really don't care *enough* to contest it and I'm not going to spend time recreating something that will undoubtedly be inferior to what was already created by other folks and deleted in a prior session. All that remains for you guys is to delete the stub it created. Good Luck, and sorry for this waste of your time....even if you're still wrong in considering him unnotable. :)

What did I do?
So, I made an edit on the Mel Brooks page and you reported it as vandalism. This doesn't made me mad, but I wasn't trying to vandalize the page. If you still remember who I am, can you please tell me what I did for it to be considered vandalism so I can avoid it in the future. I'm guessing that you're criticising me for adding in "history". I must admit that was my mistake, for "history" was the wrong word to use. The reason I said that is because I feel as though in many films (i.e. Blazing Saddles & The History of the World Part I) and records (i.e. The 2000 Year Old Man), he is not solely parodying films/genres (i.e. Spaceballs & Young Frankenstein), but is also parodying the time period itself -or, said [time] period's steriotype, that is. If this is the wrong place to put this, I apologize for this, as well. If you could please reply to me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Also, thank you to SineBot for dating my comment. -- Photocar —Preceding undated comment added 21:07, 18 June 2011 (UTC).
Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Indifference in careers
Hello JDDJS. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Indifference in careers to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question - a hoax implies intent to deceive. Nintendo task force membership update
Hello,
It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do periodically to keep our membership up-to-date.
After 1 month, on 1 August 2011, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Just letting you know I have undid your restoration of your PROD on List of Equals Three Episodes. I've taken your 'nonsense' tag off, as it isn't gibberish but is Malay of one sort or another. (A good way of spotting when apparent Gibberish is in fact Foreign is to drop a lump of the text into Google without quotes. If it comes up as a lump in a site as a result, you've got a copyvio. If it comes up as a word here and a word there - but most of them being represented - it's in Foreign.) Peridon (talk) 18:28, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Randy Rayon wasn't nonsense either - it was a malformed infobox. As it appeared to be about a non-notable subject, I deleted under A7. Watch out for 'nonsense' - it's really for 'gftyxtviuuy' or 'grift the embryonic suitcase lest balloon sprague intern' and such. Stuff even a dedicated surrealist poet (or tabloid headline writer) would reject. Peridon (talk) 18:36, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict)I did translate. It translates to just a bunch of rambling. The exact translation according to Google is I am the son of ageless since the small independent. I am in the middle I reveal the family in latarbelakangi not petted, but somewhat citaku always there to break my spirit I never rushedeven though sometimes painful, blocking in my life I hope. JDDJS (talk) 18:38, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Google is OK for rough translations of Indo-European languages, Finnish and Magyar. Arabic isn't too bad, but the further East you go, the worse it gets. 'Nonsense' doesn't apply to Foreign, and this might be poetry - which is impossible to machine translate meaningfully... (It's hard enough to understand some in English.) Peridon (talk) 18:45, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Whatever it is, does it have to be on the English Wikipedia? JDDJS (talk) 18:47, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- It's a userpage. You can get them for attack, copyvio and spam. Nothing much else. (edit conflict) Another example is a poem I encountered on a sign in France recently. The word 'versé' had been translated as 'paid'. OK. It can mean that - when money is the thing versé'd. Here it was 'sang' - blood. I retranslated to 'shed' and made a couple of other small changes. (The sign should be repainted by now. The owner had no English, and the translation was made by one of his children on a computer...) Peridon (talk) 18:54, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

- Thanks for the heads up. I did notice this. I'm getting a lot of server lag and I'm not sure if it's on my end or Wikimedia, but whatever is causing it, Twinkle choked. I created the AFD manually, so if you're so inclined, I'd appreciate it if you'd take a peek at my efforts to recover from the script's malfunctioning. Thanks. causa sui (talk) 19:04, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
I've declined your speedy, as its a sport not a group - just as companies are liable to A7 but products aren't. I've put a somewhat stinging prod on it - you may feel like doing a prod2 - or may not. Speedy doesn't cover all deletion reasons - sometimes prod is the best option (followed by AfD when someone removes the prod). Peridon (talk) 19:36, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Deletion
Please don't edit-war over speedy deletion or WP:PROD tags, as you did here and, as I recall, at several other articles. If deletion is contested, but, after following WP:BEFORE, you still think that an article should be deleted, then the thing to do is to start a discussion at WP:AFD where a consensus can be reached. Phil Bridger (talk) 22:01, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- I was not trying to editwar. It's clear though that page should go, and I thought that if I better clarify why it should be deleted it would. Now I'll just let the PROD expire because it didn't work. JDDJS (talk) 22:19, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- I see that you're still at it. This article was deletion as an expired PROD and then recreated, which means that it can't be PRODded again per WP:PROD. Please stop this edit-warring (which you are doing even if you are, as you claim, not trying to) and, I repeat, if you think this should be deleted start a discussion at WP:AFD. Phil Bridger (talk) 22:40, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- I now see what you're talking about. I thought you meant Damian ciancio which was speedy deleted, not PROD. JDDJS (talk) 22:44, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, you can't get that under A7. It's not got people in it, and it's not specific web content. Most of A7 is people based - people, clubs, companies, Churches (but not churches which are buildings), but not schools. Software companies can be A7ed, but not a specific product. This isn't even specific - it's a term. Probably non-notable - try a prod. Anyway, keep up the good work. Peridon (talk) 21:47, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Belles Will Ring
I declined your speedy deletion request of Belles Will Ring. In the article, they claimed to have received critical acclaim; there was even a review from a major Australian newspaper to verify that claim. That is a claim of significance sufficient to pass WP:CSD#A7. I see that a number of other editors above have declined your speedy deletions, or converted them to prods; I recommend that you review the criteria to be sure that the articles you're tagging actually meet them. Remember, A7 in particular is often misunderstood--the bar is far, far lower than is needed to pass an AfD (that is, an article subject doesn't have to be notable to pass A7, merely have a credible claim of significance or importance). Qwyrxian (talk) 05:37, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Heya JDDJS, this is just a note to let you know that I've removed the CSD tag on the aforementioned article, but then put it up for AfD. Mainly because they had actually been signed, but other statements helped as well, I do think a credible claim of notability was made. I notice a couple other editors have pointed out a few mistakes you've made with CSD and I's like to say too things. First, everyone makes mistakes. You should have seen me when I first starting getting involved at AfD....absolutely awful. Second, try to go in with the attitude that the benefit of the doubt should always go to the article. If CSD is only barely applicable, don't CSD. Put it this way - try not to look too hard for things wrong with the article. Best wishes, Nolelover Talk·Contribs 21:15, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice, but I'm going to keep on editing the way I do because while I have made some mistakes with CSD, most of the pages I tag do end up getting speedy deleted, just sometimes for other reasons than the ones I tagged it for. The ones that don't get speedy deleted end up deleted in another way. Very few pages I tag with CSD end up staying. If it came to the point where more articles I tagged with CSD were kept then deleted (or even if they come close in numbers) than I would rethink the way I edit. JDDJS (talk) 21:24, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- First off, if you wish this discussion to die, just tell me and I'll be off.
- Well, looking at your talk and archive, I'm don't think that's the best attitude. Not only is New Page Patrol not a numbers game, but you're making some mistakes you probably should be past after months of tagging. Remember that being too hasty at NPP is one of the main reasons that Wikipedians are seen as being WP:BITEY, and the accidental deletion of one good article can be just as bad as the deletion of many bad ones can be good, if that makes sense. I highly encourage you to try to study CSD a bit more, and maybe even ask an experienced editor to give you pointers (not me, but I know of some who might be willing). Cheers, Nolelover Talk·Contribs 21:44, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'll end this discussion by saying I'm not going stop with CSD, but I will think twice about adding it and sometimes (with pages that I would CSD in the past) just tagging it for maintenance, or PROD it. JDDJS (talk) 22:00, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Please note that I don't know your "success" rate on CSD, but I have seen (often at RfA, but also at WP:ANI) that while it's fine to Prod or AfD things that aren't kept, if you're regularly new page patrolling, you should have a accuracy rating on CSD upwards of 95%. There is a huge huge loss if you mistakenly CSD something, because doing so stands a very high chance of significant demoralizing new contributors. I'm not saying you should stop CSD tagging, but, as Nolelover has said, take some time to review the standards. The whole idea of CSD is that it is only for articles that so obviously and completely fail to be acceptable articles that we don't need to take time to have a community discussion about it. That's why A7 is so very strictly limited. When I first started CSD tagging, I was also surprised that so many articles basically can't be CSD tagged (for example, an article about a new word, or novel physics theory, or a comparison of two different products, etc. don't fall under any CSD category, unless they're copyvios or hoaxes); being non-notable, or original research is not sufficient to be tagged for CSD. One good way I saw it put recently is that the way the process is designed, the normal process is to require community discussion of deletion, and CSD is a special exception created to save unnecessary work on the most obvious cases. If you ever want advice or have questions about CSD tagging (or anything else on Wikipedia), feel free to ask me and I'd be glad to help. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:55, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Like I said before, I promise to think twice before adding it. In fact, just recently there were two pages that previously CSD, but instead I tagged one for BLP PROD and another with just maintenance. I'm not going to stop CSD, but I'll think twice about it. And for the record, if the page creator ever makes a substantial effort to show that the article is notable, I remove the CSD and if necessary add an AFD. JDDJS (talk) 02:17, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

People's Mojahedin of Iran
Hi. I'm new to Wikipedia, and I created an account just now to edit the article on the People's Mujahedin of Iran Organization. I'm something of an expert on the subject matter (if I do say so myself!), and I'm aiming at creating a really good article on the topic - as it's a real mess now. Reliable and up-to-date information on this subject is hard to find, but I have a lot of good sources at hand (well, some of them I don't have with me where I'm living at the moment, but I'll try and get them soon). So, I'd appreciate it if you'd bear with me for a while as I attempt a major re-write of this Wiki article. Thanks. Manocihr (talk) 15:35, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
