Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Secretlondon (talk) 16:43, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand that my previous edits were seen as promotional, which is against Wikipedia’s policies. I apologize for this and assure you that my future contributions will adhere to Wikipedia’s guidelines. I will focus on providing neutral, well-sourced content. I do not receive any compensation for my contributions, but if I do in the future, I will disclose it as required. I hope to contribute to articles on history and biographies. Thank you for considering my request.

Decline reason:

You forgot to address your perceived violation of WP:COI. Claiming that your previous edits "were seen as promotional" is not sufficient. Your edits were blatantly promotional, some of the most clearly promotional content I've ever seen in my entire time on Wikipedia. Nothing here convinces me you'll stay away from writing about the International Police Organization Academy and any other subjects for which you have a conflict of interest. In fact, you are indicating you will write in these subject areas. Given your edits so far, it's unlikely you'll be unblocked to do that. Yamla (talk) 20:01, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Yamla and Wikipedia Administrators,
I understand that my previous edits were promotional and violated Wikipedia’s policies, specifically WP:COI (Conflict of Interest) and WP:NPOV (Neutral Point of View). I sincerely apologize for these violations. I now realize the importance of adhering to Wikipedia’s guidelines and maintaining the integrity of its content.
To address the specific concerns:
  1. Acknowledgment of COI: I acknowledge that my previous contributions about the International Police Organization Academy were promotional and reflected a conflict of interest. I understand that such content is not acceptable on Wikipedia.
  2. Commitment to Neutrality: I commit to avoiding any articles where I have a conflict of interest. Instead, I will focus on editing and contributing to topics where I have no personal or professional stake, such as general history and biographies that are unrelated to any organizations or individuals I have been associated with.
  3. Disclosure of Potential COI: If I ever contribute to a topic where I might have a potential conflict of interest in the future, I will fully disclose this on the article's talk page and refrain from making direct edits to the article itself, instead suggesting changes for the community to review.
  4. Improved Sourcing: I will ensure all my contributions are well-sourced, using reliable and verifiable references, and written from a neutral point of view.
I am genuinely interested in contributing valuable content to Wikipedia and learning from this experience. I hope you will consider giving me another chance to participate in this community while adhering strictly to its guidelines.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Dr. ALexander Jan International Police Organization Academy (talk) 20:38, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You haven't specified the exact nature of your conflict of interest. Now is the time to do so. Additionally, you have a contradiction. You say you commit to avoiding any article for which you have a conflict but you also say if you contribute to such an article, you'll disclose this. Both statements cannot simultaneously be true. Finally, according to zerogpt.com, your response was generated by an AI. We have no interest in AI chatbots editing Wikipedia. You need to specifically address your use of AI in the past and going forward. --Yamla (talk) 21:10, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Yamla,
Thank you for raising these concerns. I'd like to address each point clearly and professionally:
Conflict of Interest (COI):
Nature of COI: I want to be transparent about my conflict of interest. I have connections with the international police organization academy, as i am the executive director / CEO of the academy.
Commitment to Avoidance: To clear up any confusion, my primary commitment is to avoid editing articles where there's a conflict of interest. However, if I ever contribute to such an article, I will ensure my COI is disclosed.
Use of AI:
Past Use of AI: I have indeed used AI tools to assist in my editing and responses. Today, many people use AI to help with various tasks, and my goal has always been to provide accurate and helpful contributions.
Going Forward
I understand the importance of transparency and will make sure my use of AI aligns with Wikipedia’s standards.
I appreciate your efforts to maintain the integrity of Wikipedia. If this response does not address your concerns and my account remains blocked, I accept that decision, and if that is good for you and you want I will remove my account.
