Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Agility Affluential", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Drm310 (talk) 14:48, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I've changed my username Internatagility (talk) 06:37, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Although your username has been changed, I am afraid that it still does not meet Wikipedia's username policy, which prohibits usernames that describe a post or position with an organisation. Since "Intern at Agility" could in theory refer to more than one person, it does not meet the username requirements. A name which identifies an individual with a company (e.g. User:Simonatagility) would be allowed (if you choose to take this route, you do not need to use your real name). However, since a company may have more than one intern, Internatagilty is not. Yunshui  08:56, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked

[edit]

Since your new username now conforms to Wikipedia's username policy, I have unblocked your account. Please be aware, however, of Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy and the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use (particuarly section 4). Yunshui  11:33, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for unblocking. I have a query. I am not being paid specifically to do a wikipedia contribution. However, I am being paid a monthly salary. Do I still consider the post as a paid contribution or will stating my affiliation with the company but sufficient? Peppermintatagility (talk) 04:00, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My take, for what it's worth: If you are being paid by the company and have been asked as part of your job to create a Wikipedia article during working hours, then you would be considered a paid contributor and would need to make appropriate disclosure accordingly. If you are editing Wikipedia in your own time, and have simply chosen to write about the company you work for, then you have a conflict of interest but woud not be considered a paid editor (though you should really avoid writing about Agility R&S or Affluential at all if this is the case). Yunshui  08:29, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I understand. Thanks again! Peppermintatagility (talk) 08:34, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Can I ask exactly how to do a statement of disclosure? Do I just put a sentence on the user page that says "I am a pay contributor to the Agility R&S page"? Peppermintatagility (talk) 09:09, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that would suffice. Yunshui  09:18, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. You've been a great help. Peppermintatagility (talk) 09:25, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
