I have been trying to improve this article but a number of people just blindly revert the article and blank the talk page. Thank you for your help. --70.109.223.188 (talk) 15:32, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Maybe you can help me with something. The Carolina-Clemson Rivalry page has incorrect statements all in it. I'm merely trying to fix one problem (The number of National Championships by each team). It currently says 6 for South Carolina. That of course is false, the University of South Carolina only has one national championship NCAA Website on National Championships. Vipergeek continues to change it back to the incorrect statement of 6 National Championships. This is not debatable. It isn't in question. Its just wrong. I like wikipedia because its a great tool but if it isn't reliable what is one to do. I've been threatened to be banned and accused of vandalism for making the page correct. Is there anything that can be done about this or should the encyclopedia be left wrong? --Tigeringtown (talk) 16:14, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it actually is debatable, and has even been debated in the talk section of the article before you came along and took it upon yourself to remove a dual-sourced statement from the article and then revert edits 4 times in 3 hours. Edit warring in this article is not welcome, please look for something more constructive to do with your time on Wikipedia. ViperNerd (talk) 17:03, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Re:Script
Sure. I have a vandal script written, and I can modify it to whatever customized warnings you want. Should it work for IPs and registered users (all user talk pages),just IPs, or just accounts (one of the three choices)? Also, are you going to customize warning templates for all levels? jj137(talk)17:35, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
OK, you can import User:Jj137/warn-alt.js; I haven't tested it yet but it should work doesn't seem to work with wikEd enabled, so you may need to temporarily disable that for it to work. There will be a "final" tab when you edit user talk pages; click on it to give the message and then hit save or type in the article name. It will automatically sign for you. One more thing, do you want it to automatically add a shared IP notice on IP user talk pages (like Twinkle does)? jj137(talk)18:03, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Well then change to a reasonable font and don't try the old "but he's doing it" ploy, surely you're a better user than that. John Reaves19:46, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
I've taken the above user off WP:AIV - as far as I can see they've had no warnings (although I've given them a good faith warning) and have only made one test edit (to Saint Patrick)...or at least, only one non-deleted contribution. Is that okay? GBT/C21:04, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey there. Could you please make sure that when you're reporting a user to WP:AIV that they've been warned sufficiently? I've removed a couple of reports from you in the last while that were of users who had not been warned at all. Much appreciated, and keep up the good work! Tony Fox(arf!)21:25, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
I really think you deserve to be nominated for adminship. You do a great job around here and would make a good sysop. I would like to nominate you (possiby with jj) if that is alright with you. STORMTRACKER94 Go Sox!21:27, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
LOL, that's funny hilarious. It took me about a month before I was finally was able to solve it without "cheating" (looking at the guide [1]). jj137(talk)00:04, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Lol. I've almost broken mine simply because I have tried to turn two edges at the same time countless times. Also, you might be interested in this. jj137(talk)00:15, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
I go hometown: I like the Rangers (even though we are total losers) and the Cowboys (even though Romo is very unreliable, and T.O. is big fat showoff). Basketball110hello03:13, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
That was quite funny. Like the Mavs in 07. I think it was Maurice Brooks that said (about the Celtics for New Years resoltions) "We promise not to run out of gas chasing 72 wins, like the Mavs last year." Basketball110hello03:17, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for participating in my RFA, which closed successfully with 40 supports, 13 opposes, and 4 neutrals. For those of you who supported my RFA, I greatly appreciate it. For those who did not, I'm also thankful for your constructive criticism. If you need some advice or have some pointers for me, you know where to reach me! A special thank you to Majorly for all his time and effort he has placed in my nomination. Once again, thank you all for your helpful comments. Now off to new admin school! Cheers, Icestorm815 • Talk01:15, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
P.S. I'll see you March 15th.
Apologies
Hey MFC,
I'm a bit behind on rewarding barnstars for WP:AWC, as I am currently on vacation. Sorry for the delay, as I my access to computers for the past week has been fleeting, at best. I will be awarding all barnstars when I get back from vacation. Unless I find a secure line here on vacation, I'll be away from Wikipedia for the next week.
Sorry for the delay, --Sharkface21701:39, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
One more thing. This is funny. A few minutes ago, I was eating an Oreo, and looked above the logo and saw "Milk's Favorite Cookie". I was like: "WHOA". jj137(talk)20:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't understand why someone would take away so many references that got it to FA status in the first place. Now, I heard the article may have its FA status revoked. jj137(talk)21:18, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
That's a ton. If someone asks why you went with no edits for 10 days, just explain what happened. I don't think someone would oppose you because you're moving in real life. jj137(talk)21:39, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
The POTD is taken from the Featured Pictures in a roughly first-in first-out order. I take scheduling requests for anniversaries or whatnot, but usually they get to the Main Page in a queue. There is currently a 3-4 month wait. If you're interested in helping, please see WP:POTD/G. Thanks. howcheng {chat}17:26, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
When clerking at WP:CHU, please use the standard Template:CHU and its parser functions to leave basic clerk notes, as its easier for 'crats to see on sight if there maybe any problems with requests. Qst (talk) 22:55, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey, just to let you know, we both bit the big squirrel on this one: [5]--someone placed an ep list, an IP reverted it(correctly--it's total fakery); you reverted the removal, then a third user re-removed it (no edit summary, or maybe I would have looked closer) but instead, I said "well, MFC certainly wouldn't do anything vandalistic, whereas I never heard of this TRWolf person...REVERT!" Whereupon TRWolf decided "hey, maybe an edit summary would help" and finally informed us that what we'd been reverting was WP:BOLLOCKS. Argh. At least I'm in good company. You seem to be moving

I want to nominate you as admin, seeing that you contributed signifcantly to WP:AIV. However, you're still relatively new (because you're actively editing starting in January). Give yourself about a few more months and let me know when you're ready for RfA, then I'll nominate you. OhanaUnitedTalk page07:28, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Stealing credit
Why do you take credit for "creating articles" that you pull off of the anonymous contribution section? I wrote the Ali Eslami article and here on your userpage you seem to be attempting to take credit. --208.120.68.62 (talk) 14:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Whoa - six people. Hopefully that won't be too many, sometimes people will oppose because of too many nominators (although that is obviously a very silly reason to oppose). jj137(talk)17:57, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
One of the worst I've heard. Among the others: "I view self-noms as prima facie evidence of power hunger", "this user has not been actively editing for two years, which is not enough", "(no reason given)". jj137(talk)18:07, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
I noticed the "Stealing credit" section two sections above. Don't mean to put myself in that conversation, but what is that IP talking about? To me it looks like you wrote that article. jj137(talk)18:11, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
I award you The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar for your amazing work in reverting vandalism. I've seen you all over RC Patrol for the past week and you have great reversion time. STORMTRACKER94 Go Sox!21:37, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure about your message because I do know that my change was correct German. The only reason I see for reverting me is that you do not know (do not want to have) that letter "ß" in a text. If that were the case I could accept the revert otherwise I would be interested in your explanation. Thanks. --91.23.243.49 (talk) 23:37, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Re: [6]. Given that accounts with very few edits cannot usurp existing accounts - reserving this for established users helps try and make sure that popular names are put to good use - there isn't much point suggesting in usurpation to a user whose request will likely be denied anyway. Better I think just to ask them to choose another name that isn't taken [7]. WjBscribe07:57, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Bob Parsons reverts
hi there, I noticed you had reverted the removal of what I had called overly adulatory material from this Mr. Parsons page. Specifically, the article seems overall to be lacking neutral POV, and seems to be very approving of the man. Mr. Parsons may well be a fine example of a human being, but in the interests of being npov, had taken out unverified/irrelevant/over adulatory detail. I noticed that you (or perhaps a bot you run?) had reverted, and hence this note. cheers, Thisonefella (talk) 22:43, 26 February 2008 (UTC)thisonefella

Oh him! He deleted one of my pages. A few thousand edits ago, I was (sort of) bitten. User:Riana, even though she was in the right-of-way, told me to change my signature when I am not in "such (presidential poll) pursuits." As I said, sort of bitten. What do you think? Is it a bite? I thought and thought. A little voice in the back of the head said, "Jive ttu Mivs Vavok Kuk." I said, "What?" It replied in a clear voice, and it said, "Give the 5000th damn edit to Milk's Favorite Cookie." So, Mr. Cookie, I listened. This is my 5000th edit. My 5001st will probably be Gloria Campos. Enabling that button sort of gets in the way when I'm on patrol, but none the less, sometimes I do summarize with "db," to let people know I'm the one that put the template there. I'll vote today, in AfD's. Thanks! By the way, you'd make a good admin today. See you March 15th, about that. Basketball110what famous people say02:11, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the barnstar that you so kindly left on my talk page. I appreciate it more than you know. Thank you, as well, for your service to the encyclopedia. You do a great deal of work that goes seemingly unnoticed. I know that sometimes it's nice to know that others DO, in fact, notice. - Philippe | Talk05:02, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
