Hello Innerharmony4u. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Innerharmony4u. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Innerharmony4u|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 08:55, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! No, I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. I created this Wikipedia article orginally for Denise Linn, as she is one of the founders of feng shui and oracle card reading practices and principals in the USA. I noted that other people in this realm are in Wikipedia, and attempted to put this out there. since the first attempt, I thought I would gather citations of her being in various magazines and newspapers as the outside citations. I am one of the graduates of her programs, and a member of the International Feng Shui Guild. There are thousands of her graduates now worldwide. But if it is better to hire a Wikipedia writer to do this in the right manner, please let me know how to go about that. thank you! Innerharmony4u (talk) 13:55, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you are not compensated in any manner, that is not an issue- but you seem to have a conflict of interest; please be familiar with that policy and make a COI disclosure. Are you in communication with Denise about this? Hiring someone wouldn't be an improvement(and while there may be some reputable companies that offer Wikipedia editing services, many are poor quality and even scams). 331dot (talk) 15:27, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Yes, Denise gave me alot of the bio information, and worked with me on the collection of the articles. I will look for the COI disclosure. And I will rework the information about her to tie into the articles. Is it a problem that many of the articles are print only, and not online? Should I focus on the ones that are online? Thank you so much for your information! Innerharmony4u (talk) 20:00, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sources are not required to be online, they only need to be publicly available. Books/magazines in a library are fine(for example). 331dot (talk) 22:13, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
