Marvel's Spider-Man

Hello there! I appreciate your keen response to the RM and further informing me, and others, on the naming guidelines and procedures. It sure helps out a lot! Though I'm not sure if it will pass with flying colors this time around give the opposition, I want to commend you for your dedicated knowledge and for being through in articulating your points, something I strive for myself. I have started a similar, though somewhat on the reverse, RM at Talk:Marvel's Midnight Suns#Requested move 19 December 2023, after rummaging through some of the naming policies and points I noticed you have made in the past, and I think it may be of interest to you in those regards, and any comments you may have there would be much appreciated and helpful. Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work! Trailblazer101 (talk) 04:57, 20 December 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. Yeah, WP:AT can be a lot, and it's frustrating when editors blindly follow COMMONNAME while disregarding the many other guidelines on the same page. I didn't think the RM was going to pass (still not optimistic, but I've had RMs and AfDs in the past that did 180s midway, for better or for worse), which is why I didn't bother to elaborate in my initial !vote. I did try to get everyone on board regarding MCU articles where natural disambiguation can and should be used, but there was pretty heavy opposition last time with similar arguments being raised (that it's ambiguous). I'll take a look at Midnight Suns. InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:40, 20 December 2023 (UTC)

Apple Watch

What was your reasoning for reverting my edit on the talk page of the Apple Watch article? My edit summary was self-explanatory. ItsCheck (talk) 05:28, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

As was mine; editors cannot unilaterally remove sections on article talk pages unless they are vandalism or WP:NOTFORUM posts. The "dispute" has not been resolved, as the AfD has not been closed, and even after it has been closed, the notice should not be removed without reason. Hello, InfiniteNexus,

Please start a move discussion on the article talk page when an article has been at a time for several years rather than being BOLD. Thank you and Happy New Years! Liz Read! Talk! 23:59, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

SoFi business model

Happy new year InfiniteNexus! Please allow me to bring your attention to an edit request I posted at Talk:SoFi#Model. I would so appreciate it if you would take a look and implement my suggestions, which I hope you will agree are reasonable improvements to the SoFi article. Thanks so much.  Done, and happy New Year to you as well! InfiniteNexus (talk) 19:42, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello InfiniteNexus:

Did you know ... that back in 1885, Wikipedia editors wrote Good Articles with axes, hammers and chisels?

Thank you for your contributions to this encyclopedia using 21st century technology. I hope you don't get any unnecessary blisters.

You're only going to end up generating errors, which disambiguators will perpetually fix per WP:INTDABLINK, so we don't get swamped with false positive error reports that make the job of real disambiguation impossible. BD2412 T 01:15, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

@BD2412: I wasn't trying to make a point, but thank you for fixing the errors. InfiniteNexus (talk) 01:25, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
I accept that you may well have been unaware of the problem. Isolating the instances of links that actually need fixing is an issue that has plagued disambiguation from the start. BD2412 T 01:34, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
I see. I knew that (disambiguation) was required in hatnotes, but I wasn't aware this was also the case elsewhere. Thanks for letting me know. InfiniteNexus (talk) 01:36, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

January 18, 2023

Hello, this is Winter. I have recently noticed that you have reverted an edit of mine on Google. I just want to know if it was by accident or if there was a reason behind it. If there is a reason behind it please tell me and I will understand. Respond when you can. WiinterU (talk) 22:17, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

@WiinterU, they reverted my edit too. I'm here to see what the reason behind them reverting our edit is. @InfiniteNexus, please let me know why you reverted my edit and claimed that my explanation was unclear even though my edit summary was self-evident. ItsCheck (talk) 00:32, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
WiinterU's edit was reverted because they removed the stock tickers with the edit summary Traded as not needed. It is not clear what they meant by that — "not needed" says who? I double-checked {{Infobox company}} to see if the parameter was being used incorrectly, but nope, it doesn't list any situations where the parameter should not be filled out. As far as I know, this doesn't violate any policies or guidelines either (if it did, the parameter would have been removed), so this was essentially an WP:IJUSTDONTLIKEIT removal.
ItsCheck's edit was reverted because there is no need for an invisible comment. The cited reason was to prevent further vandalism in the future, but I have been watching this page for a long time, and this has never caused any major problems. Invisible "warnings" are only used in cases where edit-warring against consensus has been a problem or will likely be one because the statement is disputed, contentious, etc. This was already explained to you less than two weeks ago, and yet you again restore your edit with the same rationale. This goes against the spirit of WP:BRD and WP:COMMUNICATION.

Page moves

Hello, InfiniteNexus,

Would you consider leaving a redirect behind when you do a page move? If you look at User:AnomieBOT III/Broken redirects you can see some of the broken redirects left behind (I had already deleted a few more before this report was compiled). If you leave a redirect, then the Wikipedia bots will fix all of the other redirects so they aren't broken and don't need to be deleted. Thanks, that was quite an ambitious number of page moves you took on today. I hope this will be the end of any move wars on this subject matter. Liz Read! Talk! 03:22, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

@Liz: I did leave redirects behind for all of the pages I moved today per an RM that wasn't carried out fully, except for the talk page archives since I didn't think those would cause problems. Apparently not. I moved the editnotices using the direct link on Special:MovePage which automatically unchecked "leave a redirect behind", so if that is also problematic I would suggest having whatever code controls that to be changed. Thanks. InfiniteNexus (talk) 04:07, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
