"Juicebox" chart position

Actually, Billboard agrees with me: Here [1] and [2]. This shows that "Juicebox" by The Strokes hit #98 on the Billboard Hot 100. You see, "Juicebox" hit #65 on the Billboard Pop 100, which is a different chart from the Billboard Hot 100. When people talk about the "US Charts", they're talking about the Hot 100, not the Pop 100. In fact Billboard's own Artist chart page shows no entry on the Hot 100 for Juicebox, despite All Music Guide's insistence that it does Doc StrangeMailbox Orbitting Black HoleStrange Frequencies 07:54, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

sorry if i seem a tad condescending, but i'm one of those boring no-life chart watchers. Basically if we're wrong we turn into a pillar of salt. Billboard. Although despite no showing on Billboard's own chart page for the band billboard.biz shows that the song did hit the Hot 100. I'll go with All Music Guide's chart position of #98 as that's what the rest of my sources say. Doc StrangeMailbox Orbitting Black HoleStrange Frequencies 07:58, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Do you have any suggestions to successfully address comments laid on this FAC process? Thanks in advance. --Efe (talk) 09:54, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
"Irreplaceable" is now FA and am gearing up for Wikipedia:Peer review/Baby Boy (song)/archive1. =) --Efe (talk) 11:46, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Indo. If you have time, please give a thorough review for the above PR. Thank you very much. --Efe (talk) 10:28, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the ce. --Efe (talk) 11:20, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Man, Rurhfisch commented that the article is close to FA but needs more sifting. If ever you have time, you can drop reviews on the article's PR. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 05:45, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Silly question

Mind giving me a list of alt-rock bands you're into? I have several articles I want to work on, but I'd like to gauge what other people are into, particularly since many of the project editors I work with a lot have not been around much these days. WesleyDodds (talk) 09:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I have Up the Bracket but I never liked The Strokes. All those "Return of rock" bands from the early 2000s got on my nerves a bit. Strangely I've been listening to a lot of Pearl Jam this week. Given how dedicated some editors are on writing articles related to lesser known bands, I'd really like to see more GA and FA articles (particularly albums) from more of the heavy hitters, eg. Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Nirvana, R.E.M. Vitalogy is up at the GA queue right now and I think Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is close, but would like a hand over there. As for the next likely COTW, one of my most valuable sources is the NME Originals: Britpop issue, which has plenty of Blur interviews and interviews up through the self-title album. I've cited a few already in the Blur article in the past. WesleyDodds (talk) 10:09, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
The book I used as my main source for R.E.M. is excellent in that it gives chart positions for albums and singles in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada through 2000, and certification awards for the US and UK. I also have a fan companion that lists every track through 1994. WesleyDodds (talk) 10:11, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I also have a silly question: Don't you ever like working on promoting articles yourself? I'd get really tired of FAC (especially with me always on there!). Just wondering. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 20:06, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Excellent work cleaning up this article, especially locating and removing the undue movie spam! Hope I see you more often on my watchlist. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 07:34, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

I've added the image, as you suggested. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 21:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

I believe I've addressed all your concerns; the book at GT Labs has the entire title, so I kept that. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 14:00, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for all your comments so far: I've moved around the quote section, and hopefully it flows well in its new home. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 14:05, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I can cite the Blur article through 1998. Can you cover the time since then? WesleyDodds (talk) 08:07, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Yep. My sources only go up to Blur. WesleyDodds (talk) 08:39, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
They haven't "broken up" but they have said they don't plan to record or tour anymore. Which is a statement that can go either way. A promo picture could work, but probably not in the infobox. Maybe use that first "Public Image" promo photo since it was important and is discussed in the text. WesleyDodds (talk) 08:53, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Soundclip suggestions: "There's No Other Way", "Popscene", "Parklife", "Song 2", and "Tender". WesleyDodds (talk) 10:21, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

We've got free images for Albarn and Coxon. If we can find images of the other two, we can do what the editors at Radiohead did and make a composite image. WesleyDodds (talk) 06:39, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm hoplessly clueless when it comes to media on Wikipedia. Ask someone like CloudNine or NSR77 to help there. WesleyDodds (talk) 07:27, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I've almost exhausted all my Blur print references, so most of what's left is up to you. WesleyDodds (talk) 21:57, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

When would you be up for starting work on R.E.M. discography? WesleyDodds (talk) 06:58, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

We can work it out in a draft page or something. Go with the countries listed in the Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers discographies for now (the former article uses print sources neither of us have access to). WesleyDodds (talk) 07:09, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi! I've responded to some of your comments. Gocsa (talk) 13:04, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

I noticed that you tagged the page I Love Her for speedy deletion with the reason "non-notable song". However, "non-notable song" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use Wikipedia:Articles for deletion if you still want the page to be deleted. Thanks!  —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 15:57, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey dude, thanks for the back up. They were kinda making me mad. And I have to add, you and I don't disagree on everything, I'm just a dick about some stuff. :P How's your review of Opeth going? I added a comment to your "silly questions" section. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 05:23, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

There are no other quptes in need of ellipsis on there. Burningclean [speak] 22:32, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey thanks for all that. I'm horrible with images, I should give up on them! :P I'll probably recomment on the Irriplacable FAC later. I'm not very good when it comes to grammer, copyedit, etc. myself (as you know) so I don't always notice if something is wrong when I am reviewing an article (unless it is very obvious). This Charming Man

Hi. I think I've addressed your points at the FAC. Can you revisit and strike as appropriate. Thanks. Ceoil (talk) 17:50, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Max Mosley

Hi. You opposed Max Mosley at WP:FAC and asked for a copyedit. I'm struggling a bit to get a really fresh pair of eyes to look at it - the WP:LoCE backlog is phenomenal! However, I and several others have gone through it with an particular eye to lengthy sentences, as you suggested. Could you have another look at the article and indicate at the nomination page how you feel about the article in its current state? Many thanks. 4u1e (talk) 10:21, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Neon Bible

I understood your reasoning for doing it, but I honestly do not think the origin of the title is appropriate for any of the current sections, and definately not worthy of its own section. Per WP:LEAD, the lead should be a summary of the main points of the article. However, I do not believe it says everything in the lead must be covered in greater depth within the text. If you have a solution, I am open to it, but personally I think it is fine where it is. While I am here, I would like to thank you for the copy-edit. It was well-done. Cheers, SorryGuy  Talk  05:47, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, would you mind reviewing at Wikipedia:Peer review/United Abominations/archive2? I wan't it for FA. Comment very thoroughly please, if you do. I think FAC visitors don't like me being there :P So please add anything on there, lets get that out before FAC :D/=< Thanks, Burningclean [speak] 01:09, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Um...what the fuck?

Excuse me why did you delete my contribution to the "covers" section of the White Stripes's page (multiple times). I've seen them in concert and they did play a cover of Stray Cat Blues, I it's even shown up on some obscure bootleg. There was nothing wrong with that particular contribution.

R.E.M. discography

My book has chart placings for the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. Can you add extra fields where appropriate? One snag I've run into the fact that three singles ("The One I Love", "Stand", and "It's the End of the World . . .") were reissued in the UK, and ended up charting higher than they had in their initial releases in that country. How do you think this should be addressed? Also, do you think we should put R.E.M. Live in the compilations section? WesleyDodds (talk) 09:10, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

There's a number of b-sides that haven't been released elsewhere (one of the most notable is the original version of "Sitting Still", from the first "Radio Free Europe" single). Plus I don't much mind cataloging them all. Fun fact: the b-side "Winged Mammal Theme" was written with the hope of appearing on the soundtrack to Batman Returns (it didn't make the cut). WesleyDodds (talk) 10:23, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

The Strokes discography

Go to the talk area and read what I wrote. EGorodetsky (talk) 09:13, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah I'm talking about everything. The numbers don't match up. Where are you getting that they have seventeen music videos? They have nine singles listed and nine music videos (ten if you count the alternate 'You Only Live Once.' I created the original B-sides section so don't accuse me of vandalizing. I think it looked more visually aesthetic the way it was, rather than with eight footnotes beneath it. And why does it start with II anyways. I think this goes for the rest of the page too. It was better with the information from Billboard, with chart positions on Modern Rock, the U.S., and the U.K. Why do those other countries matter? I mean who is really concerned with how The Strokes charted in Norway? They're big in the U.K., semi-prominent in the U.S., and there are fans around the world. That doesn't mean you have to publish everything that is available. Only put up what is important. Charts should be an aid to text not a hindrance. Response? Thriller

Hi I have made some of your changes, i was hoping you could take a little look and see if the adjustments i have made at least sit comfortably with you. Im sure you will agree its an improvement. Realist2 (talk) 06:13, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Realist left the project. I already archived the peer review because it was really bad. If ever you have comments, please drop on the article's discussion page or to its next PR. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 05:17, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
OMG, "Baby Boy" is still on the PR. Maybe after its FAC. Is the article up for FAC? I will close the PR and move to the FAC now if your answer is positive. Thanks for the help. --Efe (talk) 05:34, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
By the way, I left some comments in Janet's FAC. --Efe (talk) 05:42, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
BTW, I will move to "Deja Vu" after this one. --Efe (talk) 05:46, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Fixed. I don't know. But for sure, I already researched its background, etc, but Google gave me nothing. --Efe (talk) 05:51, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Welcome. I looked at the images and really need attention from fair-use experts. Im confused, get what? =) --Efe (talk) 05:53, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Nope. I was not the one who uploaded that. I would like to feature there Beyonce dancing Arabic moves but I can't find it in Google and I don't know how to produce a screenshot. --Efe (talk) 06:00, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I will try. I really don't know how. I usually depend on Google images. Hehe. --Efe (talk) 06:12, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
hehe. thats all. the quality is poor. --Efe (talk) 06:38, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Its fine. Thank you for giving me the instruction. I will now have my own screenshots. --Efe (talk) 06:47, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
BTW, if you dont mind informing you this, Im busy with my biggest project, to date. I would like to gather comments about it. Thank you. You can drop reviews/sugestions/comments in the discussion page. --Efe (talk) 06:51, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I actually intend to revamp the article for it to reach GA. --Efe (talk) 11:31, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Strapping Young Lad FAC

Yeah, I've already sent Ealdgyth a message, but no response. It's strange nobody else looked at the FAC, not even from Wikiproject:Metal. I've also left a message at the project's discussion page days ago, but noone seems to care. :) I've never thought the band is THAT unknown. :) Gocsa (talk) 14:54, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I just want you to know that I will get to your last comment this weekend probably, I've been busy latly. Burningclean [speak] 03:12, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Dirt

Dude, that would be awesome working on Dirt! I kind of wanted to but never had a huge motivation. I've been busy lately, so I can't do much, but in about a month and a half I have a three month summer break and I'll probably be on alot, or too much. Dirt is a FA in another language and I was checking it out; their reliable sources differ alot from ours. But yeah, that would be awesome. I have a feeling that "Would?" would be hard to find info for. Cheers, Burningclean [speak] 19:28, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

That will be cool. I don't know where we will get enough info on the singles. What's funny is, when I work on a band article, that is pretty much the only band I listen to while writting, so I've been listening to alot of Opeth (Opeth is the only drug I do ;)) and yesterda I fell asleep watching my AIC Unplugged DVD. The CD of that was certified platinum less than a month after its release! I have always really wanted to work on Layne Staley (really bad) and possibly Jerry Cantrell. Burningclean [speak] 20:00, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
(Butting in) I have a Guitar World issue lying about somewhere that has an interview with Jerry Cantrell from when Boggy Depot was released. I think I also have a Degredation Trip-era interview. WesleyDodds (talk) 23:56, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Alright, now I'm kinda exited! Rethinking, it probably won't be very hard at all to do that article. There is that good interview with Cantrell and RIP magazine that is used multiple times in AiC. I'd say the writing and recording part will be hardest. Burningclean [speak] 20:55, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

IOU an apology

I was thinking of doing a High-importance article drive. I want to hold off on moving stuff to the R.E.M. discography page until Accelerate runs its course, since there'll be later singles charting all over. Can you help fill out some of the album and singles chart placings? I think I'll start work on the Compilations sections next. I probably won't have time to look at the Maynard article until Tuesday; I've still got to review Janet Jackson. WesleyDodds (talk) 07:53, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
