Administrators
[edit]Roughly 40 million people have created accounts for English Wikipedia. There are currently 1,086 Administrators. The application rules say at least 500 edits and 30 days, but that is not realistic. Applicants typically have many years of experience, thousands of edits, participated in all aspects of management (article creation, improvement, deletion), and then apply. - Teahouse content is not deleted. It is periodically archived, but all of that is available to all people. In contrast, individuals have Talk pages, and they are within their rights to delete content from their own Talk pages. However, even that can be found by looking at a person's past Contributions. I just saw your account, you are editing wikipedia from past 15 years, thats really amazing. i want to ask that why you are not a administrator here, because i feel you are really good at what you are doing and you have already fulfilled all unsung requirements to become one Indianman1 (talk) 18:04, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- i have no desire to be an Administrator. My intentions are to improve science articles in my fields of expertise, and to help people at Teahouse. David notMD (talk) 18:06, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Some personal Notes (don't remove anything, you can add if you want)
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. You can see some of the things at WP:RfA. In short, it requires a lot of Wikipedia experience, demonstration that you understand Wikipedia policies, and demonstration that you need to admin toolset to perform the tasks you want to perform. You should view adminship and being a janitor, and beware of WP:Hat collecting 99% of things on Wikipedia do not require being an admin. RudolfRed (talk) 17:43, 2 August 2021 (UTC) @Indianman1 You can start here Wikipedia:Administrators#Becoming_an_administrator and continue with pages linked from there. At Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#About_RfA, in the candidates column, you have links to recent "admin-runs" and there you can get a sense of what is expected. Reverts
[edit]You are within your rights to revert what I did. Provide a brief explanation in the Edit summary. I have no intention of editing the article again. David notMD (talk) 18:41, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
