Drexel University presidents

Thanks for your carefully-researched articles on Drexel University presidents. We are processing the papers of several of those gentlemen and had planned to create Wikipedia articles for them, but you are well ahead of us! If you need any info from the Drexel University Archives for your articles please contact us. (I'll look for a picture of Hollis Godfrey.) DrexelArchives (talk) 22:07, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Zeta Tau Alpha

I can delete what ever I want about MY FRATERNITY if it has no business on the internet. Are you a member of an NPC organization, and "expert", or just a GDI? I asked for it to be deleted and it was brushed off. I emailed nationals to let them know what has happened hoping this problem will be resolved. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.132.162.44 (talk) 03:11, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Please read over WP:OWN. You do not own the Zeta Tau Alpha page no matter if you are a member of said organization or not. Additionally please read over Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines, do not edit another persons comments without their explicit agreement. My edit restored comments made by myself and others that were deleted by you. Please note that the information that you deleted did not say what the motto was, just asked if it should be included. Since the motto cannot be verified by any reliable or verifiable source in the first place it will not be included in the Zeta Tau Alpha page anyway. --ImGz 03:23, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello

Hi ImGz. I have been editing some articles you have worked on, basically trying to "clean" them up abit as far as reliable sources, external links, See also section, ect, ect. Hope this works and let me know if you think differently. I have had a disagreement with user Muderwatcher just to let you know. Thank you. --70.109.223.188 (talk) 14:28, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

RE: AOII

You wrote: Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Alpha Omicron Pi. Since I have no other way of communicating with you, then ought to know something about AOII (and since you claim to be a history major and an NPC fan, these should be sticking points with you): they take the information disseminated about them VERY SERIOUSLY. As such, QUOTING FROM ITS PAGE IS THE PREFERRED method and that is why EVERYTHING IS CITED BACK TO THE REFERRING PAGE. --Lizconno

Read over the copyright policy of Wikipedia. Though Alpha Omicron Pi might prefer you quote directly from the website you have copied complete sections word for word from the official website; specifically the founding page, founders page, symbols page, etc. Since the website does not state whether the information is within the public domain (GNU Free Documentation License) or not it does not belong here. If you continue to re-add information that does not comply with wikipedia policy you will be warned and eventually blocked for continuously re-adding it. --ImGz (t/c) 20:50, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Notable Noob

Hi

Thanks for getting in touch to invite me over to discuss the notability of the Sword of Swords article. I don't do much on wikipedia so the mechanics of it are still very difficult for me. (In fact, I have no idea if I'm posting this message to an inappropriate place - please feel free to remove it once you've read it).

I wanted to clear up something you wrote in your notability post: it is true, I did remove previous notability attacks. It didn't seem right that other people's inability to find information that I felt had been provided should allow them to remove the article. Not knowing the correct way to fight their claims I used the only method I had figured out for myself: remove the notability page and put an explanation of my action into the 'reason for edit' box.

I am sure there is a better way but I didn't know it.

Thomas

Oh yes, what on earth was the "prod" you decided not to execute on the article?! Would I have been happier being prodded? SwordSwallow (talk) 12:53, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Yay, a DYK.

Wikimedia regional blog

Hi. As the organizer of the recent Philadelphia meetup, I would like to invite you to join http://wikinortheast.blogspot.com/ and contribute to our joint blog. So far, we have one contributor from New York (myself) and one from Philadelphia (wikibooks:User:Whiteknight). This blog is syndicated at Planet Wikimedia. A post-meetup summary would be a great first post. Thanks.--Pharos (talk) 21:36, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing me toward TexasDex, and I have contacted him. However, if you would like to make a guest post to the blog about your recent meetup, that would still be great. You can e-mail me if you would like to send one in. Thanks.--Pharos (talk) 19:12, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

The planning for the summer Philadelphia meetup has begun. We would appreciate your input.
You're getting this invitation because you're on Wikipedia:WikiProject Philadelphia/Philadelphia meet-up invite list. BrownBot (talk) 21:37, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello again

I was just cleaning up the members of International student societies (don't ask...) and seeing your name pop up again and again reminded me of my offer about 6 months ago to nominate you for RFA if you're ever interested, following your superb job in defusing the - er - "situation" around MurderWatcher1. Just to let you know that the offer still stands; we're currently losing active admins too quickly to replace them and keep up with the growth in editors, and there are currently very few editors up at RFA. As per before, if you're ever interested - or you can think of anyone suitable who would be - then do let me know.iridescent 19:01, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Ah I suppose I should stop avoiding this and reply.. Honestly at the moment I'm just busier than what I thought I would be with classes and such. From the summer (mid-June for me) and on it should get significantly better, at that point I would like to go through admin training because I'm not as firm on some policies and whatnot as I'd like to be. After that happens somebody can just go ahead and nom me for RfA because I'm not sure I'd ever think I was ready enough! Anywho If you're looking for somebody who is qualified to be an admin I would highly suggest User:Karanacs, I know she's busy with the whole FA committee/team thing but if she were to accept a nomination I believe she'd make a great admin. --ImGz (t/c)
Thanks - I don't know her so I'll go through her contribs first but I'll certainly consider it.iridescent 13:36, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Done. Since notifying you once it goes live will potentially violate WP:CANVASS, you may want to watchlist it now. (She's going to be away next week, so presumably won't send it live until mid-June). Thanks for the suggestion, and the offer still stands as regards you also should you ever want to.iridescent 14:25, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I actually had it watched as a redlink, but thanks for the heads up! :) --ImGz (t/c) 14:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

1R

Hey, immortalgodezz. About tim myers on the 1R wiki, he joined the band at the age of 18 (according to his myspace). he didnt turn 18 until 2004, which leaves 2 years to an unknown bassist. which may leave some confusion? is that enuff reason to remove him from the band's wiki? :D UnkEdit (talk) 04:57, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Betsy Boze sources

Good hello, sorry to bother you but I noticed the questionable sourcing of Boze on the tri-delt article. The Betsy Boze article had similar problems; It is claimed that she is alumni president of tri-delta something or other at 2 different schools but the only cited source was to a chapter website at Texas Tech University that listed her as a "notable former tri-delt". Consequently, I've remove the source and tagged it {{cn}}. If I come across any sources that pass wp:rs and wp:v I'll let you know. Cheers. L0b0t (talk) 12:38, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi, ImGz. Thank you for recommending me to Iridescent as an admin candidate. We haven't crossed paths much recently (although FYI we now have the first-ever romance novel-related featured article—Georgette Heyer was promoted yesterday!) It means a lot to have that vote of confidence from people I've worked with before, and I'll do my best not to abuse the trust. Karanacs (talk) 16:29, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

No problem and I'm glad you passed :) I wouldn't have suggested you for admin if I thought that you'd ever abuse the tools. Also congrats on the FA! Admittedly I've only read one of her novels and didn't like it much, but a great accomplishment for the romance novel related category. --ImGz (t/c) 20:47, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Kappa Sigma

Ander120 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) vandalized Delta Zeta and Sigma Chi. The only other edit made was at Kappa Sigma: [1] It is out of my skill level if the substantial changes that Ander120 made are valid, though I doubt it. Could you look into that if you care? Thanks. ∴ Therefore | talk 04:44, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Apparently, User:Jimmyflathead, whom you welcomed two years ago, was in actuality Bruce Edwards Ivins, the man allegedly behind the 2001 anthrax attacks. - BanyanTree 11:19, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

I'd seen the link posted on the KKG talk page but I'd forgotten that I'd welcomed him. Thanks for the heads up though. --ImGz (t/c) 21:59, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
