Delta Homeownership Challenge

[edit]

Soror below is the Delta Homeownership Challenge Information from my sandbox. Please include that chapters of DST are now providing seminars and other benefits to Americans who face home foreclosure.

The Delta Challenge: DST Homeownership Initiative

The Delta Challenge: DST Homeownership Initiative was created in 2003 to allow sorority members, family, friends, and the general public to achieve the dream of homeownership. The Delta Challenge: DST Homeownership Initiative was developed as a means of building wealth through homeownership. The DST Homeownership initiative is a partnership between Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and its over 950 chapters, Chase, and Genworth Financial. Another aspect of the Delta Challenge: DST Homeownership Initiative is the Delta Chase Initiative which offers mortgage loans, mortgage insurance, and other homebuyers discounts.

Fair use images

[edit]

Can you please give me the URLs to these images (File:Mbslogo.jpg, File:Deltagemslogo.jpg, and File:Go-red200.jpg) so that I can add appropriate fair use rationales? Thanks. miranda 21:54, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't put a fair use logo rationale for File:Go-red200.jpg, because the image shows no connection to Delta Sigma Theta. miranda 00:34, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Deltagemslogo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Deltagemslogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:23, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More Information on Delta Towers 1

[edit]

Soror Diva In Red,

I was going through some old Delta Newsletters and I found an article on Delta Towers 1. In the newsletter the article was highlighting the 20th anniversary of Delta Towers 1. The article contained most of the information on Delta Towers 1 that is already on the DST page. I have copied an excerpt from some of the things that I think will be useful in adding to the DST page. I would add the information below, but I do not know how to add footnotes despite trying to learn a million times. The following information is from the Delta Newsletter Winter 2001-2002 edition. Here are the excerpts:

Delta Towers stands stoically as a monument of the sorority’s five point program thrust. The facility’s motto is “Happiness is Living in Delta Towers.” Excerpt from Delta Newsletter Winter 2001-2002 edition, page 11.

Delta Towers 1 features 149 one-bedroom units and 1 two-bedroom unit; 16 units are specially designed for the physically challenged. Each unit contains a large living room, dining alcove, full kitchen, bathroom, spacious closets, and an outdoor balcony. The building also features a library, computer room, game room, TV lounge, laundry facilities, 24-hour security, and gated parking. Eighteen of the original residents still reside at Delta Towers. Excerpt from Delta Newsletter Winter 2001-2002 edition, page 12.

The Delta Housing Corporation was formed by the Washington, DC Alumnae Chapter in 1977 and was fortunate to have three of Delta’s Founders, Jimmie Bugg Middleton, Eliza P. Shippen and Florence Letcher Toms as member of the housing board. Excerpt from Delta Newsletter Winter 2001-2002 edition, page 12.

Soror if you would like I can type out the entire article.

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Marilyn Wills.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 14:13, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Julianne Malveaux.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Julianne Malveaux.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 00:45, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DST Historic Achievements

[edit]

Hi Soror Diva-In-Red - I would like to suggest in incidents were DST is the first to achieve something that we focus on us and not the achievement of other organizations unless the other organization is a Delta lead organization. The trend to focus on the achievements of others I assume started with Legacy1906 trying to change our page to say that DST was one of several Greek organizations that had a retirement center when in fact we were the first AA Greek organization to achieve the distinction of building a retirement center. I think that it should be reflected on other Greek organizations pages indicating that they were the second, third, fourth, etc. to achieve the same distinction. I feel that on our page it should be indicated that we were the first AA sorority to achieve NGO Special Consultative Status. In my opinion we should not change our page to reflect the achievements of other Greek organizations unless any achievements were a joint venture between organizations or the other organization is a Delta lead organization. While, the NCNW which is a Delta lead organization and was the first to achieve NGO Special Consultative Status, we are the first sorority to achieve this distinction and other sororities achieveing the same should be noted on their respective pages. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Judith Jamison.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Judith Jamison.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 10:49, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
