R2 CSD Criteria
I'm not sure how you thought WP:CSD#R2 applies to List of nuclear-powered aircraft. It's a speedy deletion criteria for redirects; it has nothing to do with sourcing.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:37, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Ponyo: Thanks for your message here, I know it's for redirects. Maybe this diff will back up my explanation. In my NPPS page, I was told to do a r2, normally, I would have used the move to draft script, or move the article manually and tag the redirect but I was told to do what I just did since I don't have the page mover rights. An admin is supposed to move it to draft. You can confirm what I just said in that diff if I'm not mistaken. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 22:48, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- I can see where @Cassiopeia: has explained how to use the R2 template in the way that you have, but I'm not sure if that's an acceptable use of the criteria. Is this common? Have NPP people checked the validity of this method of page move at Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion?-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:59, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Ponyo: Well, I don't know of the acceptability or the validity. Cass is my tutor, and I did what I was told to. The method seems somehow weird that I was confused and had to ask again, but then looking at the explanation I gave there, you(as an admin) should have moved the page to draft without leaving a redirect. That was the goal. The article was a list article which would have been notable, but no source was added to verify anything written on that list, if draftified, it can be improved on. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 23:09, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- I understand the goal, I'm just questioning the method. It's cludgy and, I'm somewhat certain, not aligned with our deletion policy. I'm not assigning any blame to you at all, just trying to figure out if other admins are aware of this odd usage of the template. If it's common and has been discussed somewhere, then I'll just ignore this specific type of request at CAT:CSD and let other admins handle them. @Liz:, you're also an active CSD patroller - have you seen R2 used this way before?-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:16, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

All good things come together
I can't find the deletion page for the article All good things come together. How do I respond with a no contest on it? The article isn't really worth preserving Immanuelle 💗 (please tag me) 23:13, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Immanuelle, welcome here. The tag is a {{PROD}} and does not need a deletion discussion page. However, if you wish to contest the deletion or comment on it, you can drop your comments on the article's talk page. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 23:20, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022
Hello Idoghor Melody,
- Backlog status
After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.
Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.
- Coordination
- MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
- Open letter to the WMF
- The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
- TIP - Reviewing by subject
- Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
- New reviewers
- The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
- Reminders
- Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
- If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing
{{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page. - If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

August 2022
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Ugoccie a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Ugoccie. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 08:49, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Eagleash: You're getting something wrong, but I'm going to assume good faith. You didn't verify your fact before coming here. Both the article and the draft are of no interest or concern to me. I was the one who moved Ugoccie (singer) to Ugoccie because Ugoccie is not housing any article and it's not a disambiguation page, and redirected the draft there. You should be talking to the creator of Ugoccie, not me. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 10:12, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- Well I verified who was responsible as best I could (the history is a little muddled now) and the one who moved the page last, that would indicate that it would be you. From memory, the original creator / creation was some time ago and several editors have been involved in the meantime. If the item was not moved by C&P then all well and good. There's nothing to worry about and it has been flagged for possible histmerge if necessary. Eagleash (talk) 10:42, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Eagleash: FYI, Celeboyz is the creator of the newly created Ugoccie while Obyno2020 who is now blocked created the draft. I came across the article at the New pages feed yesterday and did the move as I thought maybe the creator was trying to bypass something, but I assumed good faith as usual and didn't bother to ask anything. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 11:02, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Original rulings as reliable source
Hello, I wrote an article and it was declined by you citing it does not pose reliable sources, I used the primary source for the topic: judicial sentences, as they are posted in the official site of the Court House, where you can see the whole argument I am briefly describing in the article. I don´t understand why it is not a reliable source. Pauletta Sofia (talk) 13:43, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Pauletta Sofia: Hello and welcome here. I believe an automated message was left in the article that talks about the problem and how to solve it. It was not properly sourced and sources there are either primary sources or unreliable sources. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 05:58, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Response to the question on the article: 'Masquerade festival in Igboland'
Good Day @Idoghor Melody,
I actually wrote a full article. I cant tell why it is not complete upon submission and removed a whole junk of the whole work. Please I need assistance or should I re-write and submit again? Meritkosy (talk) 19:35, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Meritkosy: Thanks for your message here. According to what I can see, it seems most of your writings there were copyvio, meaning, you copied most of the text word for word, or were too closely paraphrased and they were removed. Write a WP:LEAD, let me see if a stub can come out. Or rewrite in your own words and add reliable sources. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 20:00, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- Alright, I will rewrite it.
- Thank you for your guidance. Meritkosy (talk) 04:04, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
Article: Masquerades in Igboland Fixed
Hello @Idoghor Melody
Please I have fixed the article. Thank you Meritkosy (talk) 05:34, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
Hello, Idoghor,
First, thanks for helping out with relisting discussions at AFD. It's appreciated! However, please review WP:RELIST. In particular, the guideline states Therefore, in general, debates should not be relisted more than twice
. I have had editors criticize me for relisting discussions 3 times and I try to avoid this but I do it on occasion when there is no participation in the discussion other than the nominator or the participants, and their arguments, are pretty evenly divided. But three relists is where I draw the line.
On this discussion however, you relisted the AFD a 4th time and that really shouldn't ever happen. In general, except for this discussion, I have agreed with your relists so I chalk this one up to you not noticing that the discussion had already been relisted 3 times. Please review the relisting guideline though and only relist a discussion muliples times when the discussion looks irresolvable...and never go beyond three times! Thanks again for your contributions. Liz Read! Talk! 06:03, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Liz: Thanks for your kind message, I appreciate and have taken note and I will be more careful in the future. Thanks again. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 08:07, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Fractions
Hi there. The guidelines on fractions say to use the {{frac}} template except "If ¼, ½, and ¾ are the only fractions needed, they may be used in an article body, article title, or category name, maintaining typographical consistency within an article where possible." The precomposed fraction characters render better than the template, and the exemption would appear to apply to this change. Any objections if I revert? Dave.Dunford (talk) 07:40, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Dave.Dunford: Thanks for drawing my attention, carry on. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 08:15, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
Hi Idoghor Melody. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 01:49, 17 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Idoghor Melody. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.
Useful links:
- Wikipedia:Requested moves
- Category:Requested moves, for article renaming requests awaiting action.
If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Primefac (talk) 08:19, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

Question from LimonesMI (19:12, 28 September 2022)
Hi, I have a question--how long until an editor typically writes their first article? --LimonesMI (talk) 19:12, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- @LimonesMI: Thanks for reaching out and permit me to welcome you here. You can create your first article at anytime. I have dropped a message on your talk page that will guide you through. You can make use of this link if you want to create your first draft. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 20:30, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

Reaching Out
Hello. Thank you for the comments on my recently created article. I observed you write a lot of articles in the Music Space. They are my interest too. I would love to learn and gain insightful opportunities from you. By the way, I would be in your town soon, could we meet to discuss how to advance the foundation’s objectives? Regards. ReoMartins (talk) 08:36, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- @ReoMartins:Hey, sorry for the late reply and thanks for your message here. If you're in Asaba anyday, just ring me(maybe email), and I'll meet you up. BTW, something like this is best sent through email, and Asaba is definitely not a town, but a city.😅 Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 21:43, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – October 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2022).
- Following an RfC, consensus was found that if the rationale for a block depends on information that is not available to all administrators, that information should be sent to the Arbitration Committee, a checkuser or an oversighter for action (as applicable, per ArbCom's recent updated guidance) instead of the administrator making the block.
- Following an RfC, consensus has been found that, in the context of politics and science, the reliability of FoxNews.com is unclear and that additional considerations apply to its use.
- Community comment on the revised Universal Code of Conduct enforcement guidelines is requested until 8 October.
- The Articles for creation helper script now automatically recognises administrator accounts which means your name does not need to be listed at WP:AFCP to help out. If you wish to help out at AFC, enable AFCH by navigating to Preferences → Gadgets and checking the "Yet Another AfC Helper Script" box.
- Remedy 8.1 of the Muhammad images case will be rescinded 1 November following a motion.
- A modification to the deletion RfC remedy in the Conduct in deletion-related editing case has been made to reaffirm the independence of the RfC and allow the moderators to split the RfC in two.
- The second phase of the 2021-22 Discretionary Sanctions Review closes 3 October.
- An administrator's account was recently compromised. Administrators are encouraged to check that their passwords are secure, and reminded that ArbCom reserves the right to not restore adminship in cases of poor account security. You can also use two-factor authentication (2FA) to provide an extra level of security.
- Self-nominations for the electoral commission for the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections open 2 October and close 8 October.
- You are invited to comment on candidates in the 2022 CUOS appointments process.
- An RfC is open to discuss whether to make Vector 2022 the default skin on desktop.
- Tech tip: You can do a fuzzy search of all deleted page titles at Special:Undelete.

BirthDay Committee (BDC)
Thanks so much for pitching in on BDC. I'm happy to see everyone get their congratulations and warm wishes early in the day so, assuming they're actively editing, they enjoy their day with our compliments. It's good for morale and editor retention. Just so you know, I reverted you on User talk:JHunterJ only because you left a birthday message instead of an adminship anniversary. I hate to violate WP:REFACTOR but I figured you would not mind in this instance just to be sure BDC handed out the right template. Feel free to revert me, otherwise. Draft Refused
Hi I saw you refuse the draft of the article I wrote. The reason was that there are no sources. I don't understand because there are many references to press articles and links to other sources. Could you explain why you think there are no references ? Thanks a lot Best regards FabienR33 (talk) 07:37, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- @FabienR33: Thanks for reaching out for clarification. I declined your draft because it did not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Another reviewer declined for the reasons you stated above. It also appear that the draft in question is about yourself, I want you to know that writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict of interest editing and is strongly discouraged. Please see Wikipedia:Autobiography Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 11:24, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
draft refused
hello , i saw you that the draft of the article that i had written on Sm Sammam Sakti was refused. I have given so many trustable resources from news media published regarding himself. Then why it's always getting rejected? will kindly let me know Tawhidur Rahman Adil (talk) 12:37, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Tawhidur Rahman Adil: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I declined your draft because the submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people), and because because the submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources. I also note that the draft has been declined 3 times, and you didn't work on it properly, and you submitted again. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 12:58, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Draft Refused
Hi, the message for refusing my article was a bit standard about reliable sources and I'd like to understand a bit more to know how can I improve. The article is about the formation of a band that I'm part of. I understand the concern about conflict of interest, but we are not famous yet so that journalists would write about us, so it has to be one of us writing about it. There are references all over the article, not to newspapers or magazines, but to the actual asset produced by musicians: songs. I'd like to know if the format of the references has to be different, or if other sources rather than ourselves should publish the article (I wonder who would know about our history better than us) or what exactly I need to do to be able to publish the article. Fwynyk (talk) 00:04, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Fwynyk: Hi and welcome to Wikipedia. For an article to be accepted on Wikipedia, it must be adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. The sources must be Independent of the subject, meaning that it cannot be sourced to an article you wrote somewhere else. The band must be published in different reliable and independent sources. I'll advise you wait until your band is published in reliable sources, hopefully, someone will write about your band when the time comes. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 15:33, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

Question from Patrick Müller7519 (01:54, 20 October 2022)
Hello, can i add contents with reliable sources on wikipedia article? --Patrick Müller7519 (talk) 01:54, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Patrick Müller7519: Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your message here. Yes you can add contents on Wikipedia articles as long as you have Wikipedia:Reliable sources to back what ever you're adding. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 07:36, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Could you add on my behalf? I would be very thankful to you, because if I do it may can be deleted... Patrick Müller7519 (talk) 18:17, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
As beginer I did many mistakes,I didn't knew how to source content, or any other Wikipedia rules, my sourced contents were deleted even after my blocks expired, always telling as reason : block evasion which was actually never true, but after I explained to Wikipedia editor that is already about 17 years on wikipedia, that I did some mistakes as beginer and that I learned now he allowed me to source contents....but 20 hours ago was deleted by someone, who was not long after that blocked,it seems like I can never add on wikipedia because is pretty brutal with beginers.
If you could help my on that I would be very thankful brother🙏 Patrick Müller7519 (talk) 01:48, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Patrick Müller7519: Hey, you can request an edit on the article's talk page, and someone will do it. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 13:26, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello,thank you for quick response.
Can you do eventually on my behalf? that would be very nice from you... I would send you complete text with sources so you could only copy and post,quickly... I tried many things, editors, doesn't really act happy to help....or I am just not enough diplomatic and professional.... Patrick Müller7519 (talk) 16:22, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

Mr Doodle article
Hello Melody Idoghor,
- Could you please precise which of the sources of my article are not reliable ? And which of the references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article ? I'm a bit surprised as the French version of the same article as already been approved and published : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr_Doodle
- Best regards.
Korido (talk) 11:59, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Korido: Hi, welcome here. You have to understand that the French Wikipedia and English Wikipedia are not the same, and they work different. The message left after declining the draft was self explanatory, you will have to work on the sources and support claims in the article with Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 12:20, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you very much @Idoghor Melody. I imagine we are both very busy. And from my side, after struggling for days to provide reliable sources in the French version of my article, I would really really appreciate if you could at least explain me what is going wrong with only one of my current sources. As you have declined this article, I guess you have in mind the specific requirements that are not compliant. I will read for sure the Reliable sources article you have mentioned. But you would make my day if you accept to give me just one clue on what I should fix first regarding those sources. Thanks again 🙏🏻 Korido (talk) 14:34, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- In addition, I've just remembered that I've already fixed today the sources declined by @Timtrent, the ones concerning YouTube. So, as well, I was expecting from you @Idoghor Melody that you also point out specific requirements not compliant, not only redirect me to a long list of requirements, without knowing which of them concern my sources. Thank you for your understanding. Korido (talk) 14:53, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Korido When you are satisfied with your draft, but not before you are, please resubmit it when another reviewer will review it in due course. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 15:43, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
