Underlinked tag
[edit]Hello, could you please be judicious in the use of the underlinked tag with short stub articles such as Julio Barrenechea? This only makes more work for those of us trying to reduced the backlog of underlinked articles. Thank you. Rogermx (talk) 15:34, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
- Rogermx, I'm probably being more judicious than you realize. Without an official consensus, it would be difficult to be more so. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 02:39, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
Deletion of Ishan Pandita
[edit]Hi, IDH, I have recreated the article Ishan Pandita, as he has made his debut for FC Goa in the Indian Super League. He is notable now as ISL is the top tier football league in India. So please remove the speedy deletion tag you have added in that article. Thank you. Debabrata Sarkar Mejbill (talk) 05:38, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Debabrata Sarkar Mejbill, I removed the speedy tag hours ago. The deletion tag on the article now can't be removed until the discussion ends. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 05:57, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
As I'm rather new to Wikipedia (or, the English spreaking version of it, anyways, which is quite different to my native German one...), I'm not quite sure just how to respond to your message on my first draft of an article on Brian David Gilbert.
When was this first deletion? If Ritchie333 deleted another version of an article on Gilbert a year ago or so, I would get that, but at least at this point in time (2020-12-02) I'd consider him a public figure "enough" that he should have an article (about which I could be wrong, of course). Jve wpd (talk) 14:01, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Jve wpd, I do that on all drafts with previous deletions. A lot of the time, I'm way overly-cautious. I'm aware of that. You may have nothing to worry about. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 17:39, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
Thank you.

A message from Brantzmyers MDA (Company)
[edit]Why did you feel it necessary to remove the timeline for MDA (Company)? The company has a rich history and I believe that the timeline was a valuable contribution to the article. Please explain. Additionally, ever since your edits, a tag for "This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments"... was added. Why do you think this is? Brantzmyers (talk) 22:58, 2 December 2020 (UTC) Brantzmyers (talk) 22:58, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Brantzmyers: It would be incredibly odd to state that a company has a "rich history" unless you're getting paid to write the article, are employed by or own the company, or have very unusual interests. The first two situations need to be disclosed as paid editing. You were using language that's consistent with paid editing even before you came on my talk page. That's why I added {{Undisclosed paid}} to the article. Blablubbs noticed this as well. It's something that you may as well be honest about.
- I removed the timeline since it was entirely unsourced. The Wikipedia policy allows me to do that. People reading the article might be interested in the company's history, but you're going to need to source it and write neutrally. Since you're being paid, you should use {{request edit}} on the talk page to make sure whatever you have written is up to our standards. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 01:54, 3 December 2020 (UTC) (Fixed ping at 01:55, 3 December 2020 (UTC))
- Heh, thanks for the ping, I dream of horses – interestingly, I was actually just on your talkpage to give you a barnstar when it popped up (see below). While I'm here, I might as well chip in. I'll ask this directly: Brantzmyers, are you currently, or have you ever been, compensated in any way, directly or indirectly, for any of your contributions to Wikipedia? Do note that if you are, that is not a problem in and of itself, but not disclosing it would put you in violation of our Terms of Use (see section 4), and potentially local laws. Best, Blablubbs|talk 02:09, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@I_dream_of_horses @Blablubbs Well, I guess I fall into your category of having "very unusual interests". I am not paid by anyone, nor have I ever been compensated in any way for any contribution to any Wikipedia content that I have contributed, modified or edited. I am a retired tech industry worker, a space buff, science geek and a Canadian. When you combine those things, you may find people like me taking pride in the history and evolution of prominent Canadian aerospace companies like Spar Aerospace, MDA, Avro and other names. I have many friends that have similar passions, and in my world (at least), these are not "unusual interests" and the history of these companies and the people that made them happen is indeed "rich" to me. It's that simple. I am pretty new to contributing to Wikipedia and I do have a marketing background as well, so perhaps I need to curb my enthusiasm in the tone of my writing, however, if you are looking at my contributions as driving the "undisclosed payments" flag, you may as well remove it, because it is not the case and I really do not appreciate your presumptive "Since you're being paid..." comment - we have an old saying in computing "always peek before you poke". If there is some place or way that I can declare my "non paid" status as a Wikipedia contributor, I would appreciate the tip on how to do that properly. Thanks! Brantzmyers (talk) 04:34, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- Brantzmyers, no need to declare non-paid status. You are violating our policies on neutrality and sourcing nevertheless. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 06:06, 3 December 2020 (UTC) (various edits at 06:06, 3 December 2020 (UTC))
LeaHoz (talk) 19:56, 3 December 2020 (UTC) Hi I dream of horses. Thank you for your message :) The page you commented on is not about me...sadly I'm not a former beauty pageant winner, but I did attend the exhibit this person created, and I noticed that she was mentioned in Wikipedia on the Miss Israel page and there wasn't a hyperlink. I've tried my best to support all my statements with external articles, and not to appear biased or promotional by inserting facts. I referenced many English articles from reputable newspapers. Do you recommend I remove some of the other cited sources? Is that what's diminishing the value of my post? It's still in draft form and I definitely need to fix it to ensure that it goes through the proper channels. I looked up Notable Persons and Ms. Avrish fits the bill since she was an actress and has a world-reviewed exhibit. I will review the articles that you recommended and keep editing the draft so that it doesn't get deleted. Thanks for your help, as I am new to this! LeaHoz (talk) 19:56, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- LeaHoz, you should probably change your username over here. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 00:36, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
LeaHoz (talk) 01:09, 4 December 2020 (UTC) why should I change my username? Oh I think I know what you mean! How do I change the name of the article??? LeaHoz (talk) 01:51, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
Hi. I've made some editing and formatting fixes on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Suchibrata_Roy_Choudhury after the original author reached out to me. I've tried to remove the non-neutral tone and fixed formatting issues. Please have a look and let me know if it can now be published.

- @Devayon: While I did look at the draft and realize you did do a lot of work, it's probably best to resubmit it to have it looked at by a fresh set of eyes.
- Out of curiosity and nosiness, how do you know the original author? I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 09:51, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- @I dream of horses: Sure, thanks for the advice, I'll ask the original author to send it for publication, might get some useful feedback. The original author is an acquaintance of an ex-colleague, who apparently heard that I had in a previous lifetime, some familiarity with MediaWiki (not Wikipedia). I'm not much of a Wikipedia editor, so was reaching out to you for advice :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Devayon (talk • contribs) 15:53, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

[edit]I do not accept that you had valid reason to delete most of the Sankey draft without explanation. The source of the information was named. Now altered to a reference and confirmed from another source.Peterrivington (talk) 22:15, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, User:I_dream_of_horses, thank you for reviewing my draft page. I see the problem with the page and the sources and I am working on finding better sources. Also if I could ask a question: One of the sources I found (still reviewing and debating on its usefulness) is a Chinese encyclopedia but I am not sure if I can use it. The sources that would be more appropriate for the page are mainly primary and reliable secondary sources, right? Any help or advice would be appreciated. FusionAlloy (talk) 19:11, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- FusionAlloy, an encyclopedia would be a tertiary source, including other Wikipedia articles, and you need reliable secondary sources. Your instincts are correct. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 02:16, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

[edit]I dream of horses, I think I may have found some sources that could be used. In that encyclopedia I was looking through earlier, there were some links that lead to pages with info on the show. (At first, the links lead to a screenshot of the info, but I didn't notice another link to the actual pages, its wording caught me off guard there) Would these sources be appropriate for the page or should I look elsewhere? I think I could be onto something, but I want to be cautious about this. FusionAlloy (talk) 22:45, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
- @FusionAlloy: If the sources you found are independent, reliable, secondary sources, they'll prove notability, and you should use them. --I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 02:37, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

A message from Shabnam Arjmand
[edit]Dear I dream of horses Salam This is Shabnam Arjmand I have started to write an article about Sheikh Dr. Taher Amini Golestani, the Shia spiritual leader here, in Wikipedia and I worked on that for about two weeks but seemingly there has been encountered blocking from your side as a violation of Copywrite of a photo as the Vatican. You left a page https://www.hawzahnews.com/news/353100/%D8%AD%D8%B6%D9%88%D8%B1-%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C-%D8%AF%D8%B1-%D8%B3%D9%85%D9%BE%D9%88%D8%B2%DB%8C%D9%88%D9%85-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%85%DB%8C-%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%AA%DB%8C%DA%A9%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%B9%DA%A9%D8%B3
It is about more than a month no activity has done here https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Sheikh_Dr._Taher_Amini_Golestani by your side. I don't know what to do. The photo is not a violation because it was taken by H.E. Sheikh Taher in the Vatican by his own cellphone and the website you mentioned has gotten the photo from me for their news.
please leave a message to show a guideline. I am paid by his office to create the page and now they ask me about a report.

*URGENT* Questions regarding declined page
[edit]Hello, can you please let me know exactly what I have to change for the page for “Lindon (Rapper)” to be accepted? I’m confused and I keep trying to change things and submit the application but I’m not sure what specifically needs to be change as I feel I done a great job trying to create this page for Lindon, who is a verified musical artist on google with multiplier articles written about him. Please let me know as I need all the help I can get to get this page accepted. Thank you! Lindonlulgjuraj (talk) 04:51, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- Lindonlulgjuraj, this isn't an urgent matter, but I'll answer your question anyway.
- Lindon needs to be significantly mentioned in multiple, reliable references to avoid potential defamation issues. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 05:19, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply I dream of horses. So are you trying to tell me that none of my current citations are valid out of the 3? Or is only 1 not good? 2 of the articles I cited are legit articles written by a popular music publication site Earmilk so I don't understand why this isn't valid? Please let me know. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lindonlulgjuraj (talk • contribs) 06:06, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
