For Euro 2016 section, can you put up a photograph with Ronaldo with the trophy? It's a very important trophy and I think it should be highlighted — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aavelarx (talkcontribs) 01:14, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

@Hurrygane: I did not delete the section, I just merged it into the Milan section. It is clearer this way because some information may belong in both sections and wouldn't be right to be included in one section or another. This way it is one place and easier to follow. By the way, I think that is enough about his "reception", you only need so much before it becomes redundant. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 17:22, 7 December 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 15:07, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made, reduces edit conflicts, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The "show preview" button is right next to the "save page" button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 15:09, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

There is no point in continuously adding and removing names from the top speed and saves list when they were previously mentioned in the reference. By that logic, only 5 names should be on the goalscorers and assists lists at any given time. I think names that are already there should be left alone until UEFA releases full lists in the reference (which they should do as with previous Euros), at which point more complete lists can be made. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 21:21, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

(edit) Since the top speed and saves lists can never be properly tracked using the reference, it would probably be better to get rid of them altogether or at least until UEFA releases full lists. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 21:24, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on José Gomes (footballer, born 1999), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Control copyright icon Hello Hurrygane, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Cold Water (song) has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 02:17, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Hey! There's not a question about it; I could've improved the article. No reason to delete the whole thing without my permission! These type of roadblocks make me want to give up on Wikipedia. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Hurrygane. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Jake Oettinger

Hello Hurrygane,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jake Oettinger for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Okamialvis (talk) 15:41, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

Auston Matthews

Regarding him being the fastest Leaf to score 25 goals, that is impossible, as Dave Andreychuk had 25 in 31 games in 1992-93 after being traded to the team. And if they want to count from the start of the season, Rick Vaive had his 25th in the Leafs 41st game in 1981-82. That is obviously faster than Matthews, so I'm guessing either Mirtle or the Elias Sports Bureau got mixed up. I emailed Mirtle regarding this, see what comes of it. Kaiser matias (talk) 11:58, 11 February 2017 (UTC)

Thank you. After reading the first sentences from your message, I instantly thought you should contact Mirtle per WP:NOR. Hurrygane (talk) 12:08, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
Well as was pointed out to me in his reply, I should take more care in reading over things. The wording from the article is weird (why he doesn't just use the phrase "rookie" is odd) but he's correct, and I was not. Kaiser matias (talk) 18:38, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

About Martunis

Hi there. I'm Felix and i'm Indonesian. I was following every news when tsunami happened because it fulfilled the media for about 2 months. And I found the evidence that Martunis was found with no.10 fake shirt usually sold by hawkers like in this news outlet: https://www.brilio.net/olahraga/ini-kabar-martunis-korban-tsunami-aceh-yang-jadi-anak-angkat-cr7-160720w.html He was given no.1 shirt by Portuguese players when he and his father attended invitation from Lisbon. Thank you anyway for your concern and contributions to this article. Cheers.

I honestly don't care. Go out there and make your contribution. But don't undo my edits unless you have a valid source AND NOTE attached to your claim. Don't twist sources. Hurrygane (talk) 10:23, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

About Pummelfee

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Pummelfee a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Request reason:

After I had decided to create redirect pages for Pummelfee and Chubby fairy, I realised they could be deemed as offensive. Therefore, I checked out if there were redirect pages for Wacko Jacko and Man U. My findings encouraged me to proceed. Even though some supporters find "Man U" extremely disturbing and disrespectful, it has never been under discussion. So, I thought these "two attacking redirects aimed at Mario Götze" would be okay as well.

While creating the redirect page for his nickname, I decided to use hidden text to support my view. In the hidden text I explained my actions briefly. According to Philip Oltermann of The Guardian "Pummelfee or “chubby fairy” is the nickname his Dortmund team-mates gave him after he struggled to lose weight following an injury". Moreover, Oltermann understands that it may seem harsh "but it also spoke of admiration".

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Götze. I did not intend to violate your policies but I understand that my behaviour might have seemed snooty and inappropriate. Therefore, I apologize.

Accept reason:

Thank you for the explanation and the apology. Generally, you shouldn't be creating a redirect with a name that isn't mentioned in the target article. Whether those nicknames are noteworthy enough to put in the article is not for me to decide, but it sound dubious. Notwithstanding, the block was for a personal attack, and I can see that you did not intend to do that. I will therefore unblock you. Bbb23 (talk) 14:44, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Hello there, from Portugal,

how about now, do we have a compromise please? You do realize you left the source #30 with one display and all the others from UEFA or FIFA with another, i equalled them all now (by the way, no need for publisher field AND website/newspaper, either one or the other is enough).

Attentively, happy editing --Quite A Character (talk) 21:19, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

The article Délicieuse Musique has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:CORP or WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 15:53, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

The article Anttoni Honka has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Boleyn (talk) 16:02, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

I've tagged it for deletion, but it gives you a week to add a source. All biographies of living people need WP:INLINECITED sources from the start. External links are usually friendly suggestions, rather than sources. Please do not create unref articles, like this and The Best FIFA Goalkeeper, as the WP:BURDEN is on the creator to verify all information they add. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 16:06, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
Are the external links at Jerry Turkulainen actually your sources? If so, can you change the heading from 'External links' to 'Sources', and WP:INLINECITE? At the moment, it appears to be an unreferenced biography of a living person. If you ping me when the issue is sorted, I'll tick the article off as reviewed, so it can be indexed by search engines. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 16:08, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
@Boleyn: Done. All of them are sourced. Hurrygane (talk) 16:27, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
Hurrygane, that's wonderful, thanks for your prompt response. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 18:42, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

Óscar Rodríguez Arnaiz

Please stop recreating this page, his appearance in the Copa del Rey was against a team from a non-fully professionale league. He therefore does not pass WP:NFOOTY, therefore the decision at the last AfD still stands. Fenix down (talk) 22:53, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

@Fenix down: Óscar Rodríguez Arnaiz is similar to the article Francisco Feuillassier. I tried to place a tag on that page requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. My request didn't pass through. Instead, User:Boing! said Zebedee told me that "when a CSD has been declined I should not reinstate it". Hurrygane (talk) 13:46, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the ping. It's true that you shouldn't reinstate a CSD once it has been declined, but with two editors now pointing out that WP:NFOOTY is still not satisfied I'm now happy that the old AFD is still applicable, and I have deleted Francisco Feuillassier. I'll be happy to undelete it as soon as he does pass WP:NFOOTY. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:51, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
I understand my wrongdoing. Thank you for deleting the article. Hurrygane (talk) 14:00, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
Don't worry about it - if he does play a game in a fully professional league, let me know and I'll be happy to restore the article. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:19, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Hurrygane. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Football Paradise, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Playmaking

Playmaking is much more than assists, and it’s clear Ronaldo isn’t that. He’s a goalscorer. Just because you have 3 years’ worth of experience, doesn’t make you right. Since you decided to send me a link, let me send one your way: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playmaker Wardrobedude (talk) 19:08, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

I have seen on the Cristiano Ronaldo page that there is a disagreement regarding the understanding of the term 'playmaking'. I have to agree with Wardrobedude, as I don't think anyone could seriously describe Ronaldo as a playmaker. If you are using the number of assists to decide he is a playmaker then you are mistaken, as this is very problematic when defining a playmaker. For example, If a midfielder plays a throughball which splits the defence and allows the striker a one on one with the keeper, but the striker plays it square to a team mate for a tap in, the assist goes to the striker, when in fact the play was made by the midfielder's pass. Also, think of Ronaldo's goal against Porto for United, despite him scoring an amazing goal from 30 yards, somebody passed the ball to him and that counts as an assist, which is nonsense. Statistics in football rarely tell the whole story and this is especially true with assist statistics. O'Flannery (talk) 09:23, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

@Wardrobedude and O'Flannery: Wasn't my point but I see where you're getting at. However, I don't like to build an article upon opinions—hence I added four objective sources claiming that Ronaldo's in fact a fine playmaker. Unfortunately, User:Ahecht undid my revision as "too many sources were cited, to the point that it broke the page by exceeding the template limit". Note that I'm not saying Ronaldo's a fantastic playmaker. That's a subjective opinion and it has no weight whatsoever in Wikipedia. Hurrygane (talk) 16:53, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
@Hurrygane: Feel free to add a source or two, but there are already way too many {{cite web}} templates on that page to the point that it is breaking things. --Ahecht (TALK

cr7 edit

It's not about playing, it's about whether you're in the squad or not!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tonmay Saha Gourab (talkcontribs) 07:16, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

True. That's what I meant, as he was not named in the squad for the 2016 Super Cup. If you'd like to initiate a discussion of the topic, nevertheless, head over to the talk page. However, I'd like to remind you that this issue has been dealt with before. Hurrygane (talk) 16:18, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, could you explain this edit at Talk:Edinson Cavani, in which you removed the WikiProject quality scale ratings? Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 17:45, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

@Mattythewhite: Ah, of course. The article Edinson Cavani is well above start-class. Just thought it was quite comic that it was still judged "Start" on the assessment scales. Hurrygane (talk) 23:11, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Question

Hi, do you can help with vital arts (see at my last comment here: User talk:O'Flannery). Mybe you also can help? Cheers. Dawid2009 (talk) 21:45, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
We also need to add long section with criticism to Ballon d'or because it is unbelivable that some onpeoplee (I read in talk:cristiano ronaldo): first argumenting that CR7 has more ballon'dr than Muller, and then tha:t players is 50's and 60's there were not physical such like currently, so source that Messi in various rankings is among Pele is wrong source. We need to remember Jimmy Johnstone (1,58 m, not athlete player) had best result in ballon d'r voting as 2nd place while Clarence Seedorf (most propably best strong-athlete football player in history) never has been among 5 best. These two arguments there were trivial and there were self-denial each other. A propos criticism of 2010, I remember that Cruyff in 2010 said: "Messi is the best in the world but Ballon'dr should have Iniesta or Xavi". I know soure based on Cruyff said Messi is the best in 2010 (mybe not very realibe: https://sites.google.com/view/messiorronaldo/quotes-about-messi) but currently I can not found source with opinion about xavi and Iniesta Dawid2009 (talk) 11:15, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
I also suggest to remove Ronaldinho from article about greatest, because sourceas about Ronaldinho are trivial. I am also not sure José Manuel Moreno should staying. You need to remember that when Moreno was playing in south America, Stanley Matthews and Ernest Willimowski were playing in the same time, in Europe and they also were best players in the world. Cheers. Dawid2009 (talk) 05:24, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
What do you think about these swappings: [Socrates, Simonsen, Gascigone, Zanetti, Sarossi?, Boniek, Finney, N. Santos?/Didi? Dean?/Donovan?] -----> [Litmanen, Cubillas, Lineker, Deschamps, Greaves, Edwards, John, Patenaude, Kocsis?]. We need to 115 players on the list (with geographical diversive, time diversive, and more ephasis for English-language players). Moreno is listed in List of association football players considered the greatest of all time and he is not on Wikipedia:Vital articles/Level/5/People/Sports figures#Association football. It make nonsense. Dawid2009 (talk) 07:02, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Thinking about it more. Socrates and Didi should staying (they are more vital than N. Santos and Carlos alberto due to page views etc.), Dean should still staying, Donovan not (for Patenaude). Gascigone also can stay due to BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Thinking about it in my opinion we should add also: Gianni Rivera, (he has more achievements than Cruyff in the same era), Carlos Valderama (vital such like Falcao), Passarella (he hass two world cup with Argentina, while Batistuta nothing). Lucien Laurent also is not vital such like Leonidas da silva, Jose Leandro Andrade, who are from the same era. So actually I suggest:

[Simonsen, Zanetti, Sarossi, Boniek, Finney, N. Santos, Donovan, Laurent, Carlos Alberto, Batistuta] ------swaping for-----> [Jari Litmanen, Teofilo Cubillas, Gary Lineker, Didier Deschamps, Stern John, Bert Patenaude, Gianni Rivera, Jose Manuel Moreno, Passarella]. In this case we would have 115 ready articles. Cheers Dawid2009 (talk) 21:21, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

Football players considered greatest of all time

Hi, do you can correct article based on my sandbox? I have sourced valiuabe informations. In my opinion we also should removed opinion about Ronaldinho that he is most talented/potencially the best because it is weasel word, due to fact fact we do not have Duncan Edwards on the list. I can not do it independently because of Enwiki's technical things are quite difficult for me and unfortunetly I do not have enaugh time. If you do it you can keep the co-authorship in the description of the changes. Cheers! Dawid2009 (talk) 12:34, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Alright, thank you for writing in. I'll have a look at some point. Hurrygane (talk) 22:26, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
Ok. It seems to me we also should add to list woman players (such like Mia Hamm) and marked them such like teen players are marked in List of most expensive association football transfers#Highest fees. Dawid2009 (talk) 06:59, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
It seems to me we should try to found sources for Puskas (as Hungarian Football Federation) and for Eusebio (as club: Benfica). It is possible that exist. Cheers. Dawid2009 (talk) 21:19, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
