Reference Errors on 8 January
Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
- On the Cordillera Autonomous Region creation plebiscite, 1998 page, your edit caused a coauthors without author error (help). (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:26, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
UAAP Football
Hi Howard the Duck,
Thanks for the edits in UAAP Season 77 Football. I do hope that when you add information regarding the scores you double check the records. I am relatively new to this (making new wiki pages) so I hope you check my errors as well. Football is a growing sport in the Philippines and I believe starting (or rather documenting) major Football happenings in the Philippines (like UAAP and UFL or even NCAA) is a must.
Again thanks (for your contribution and patrolling the page) I hope we continue working on documenting football and/or major sports happenings in this country :D

FWIW, it is interesting how the academic scandal at North Carolina is glossed over for Smith, just as Sam Gilbert's connection to UCLA haven't tarnished Wooden's reputation. I can respect your objection to the ITN. However, it's most of the others' rationales that remind me why I usually don't hang out at ITNC.—Bagumba (talk) 00:38, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- I guess people are in the "Death to the NCAA" camp. Every college coach has skeletons in their closet. Heck, even people are expecting Calipari to be committing these all sorts of violations, but they can't stand the hypocrisy of the NCAA, either. These people are coaches not tutors, despite what the press would like us to believe. –HTD 00:42, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
I don't understand your changes or edit summary here. Dates complied with set date format (dmy) AFIK, yet you changed both the format (to mdy) and the dates, even though your edit summary says you didn't. What is your reason for this change? -- Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Sat 10:56, wikitime= 02:56, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- I haven't rechecked, but at the time I saw it, the edit/series of edits in 2012 changed the original date format of mdy to dmy. For Philippines-related articles, the preferred date format is in mdy. That means in name of "standardisation" it should had not been changed. –HTD 10:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Some sports such as field hockey are bolded, but some are not. I think there should be a uniform consistency across the board. Do you agree with this? Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 02:11, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- As per MOS:BOLD, to be consistent, nothing should be boldfaced by default. Let's be consistent and ditch the bold by default. –HTD 13:13, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- I agree. I am not good with template syntax. Would you be able to do it? 18:03, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- If there's one thing I don't want to do is to piss off an entire WikiProject. Those things are bolded (and not bolded) for some reason. –HTD 01:37, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

UAAP 77 Women's Volleyball Finals
Hey Howie,
Will you please revert the vandalism done on the finals section of the said tournament? I can actually tell that it is vandalism, judging by how it is edited. It also might be suspected of trolling (per se). Moreover, I need your help since I do not have rollbacking rights.
- You could undo edits when you spot them. People may not be always online so knowing some Ninja editing skills helps. –HTD 17:59, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
Basketball navboxes
Hey HTD. Re: the 2012 World Cup navbox discussion, I agree that there are plenty of other ones worth deleting. Unfortunately, seemingly any list is being turned into a navbox, whether or not the subject is defining at all. Believe me, I have no interest in nominating other countries' navboxes which I have no knowledge about. Cheers.—Bagumba (talk) 22:22, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- FWIW, I deliberately didn't mention other national basketball teams' navboxes. My point is for other world cups/championships of other major sports, there are always navboxes of participating teams' rosters, whether or not they won medals. Sure, it can be seen as a "WP:OSE argument" but it's so universally accepted. Individual achievements (slam dunk contest winners, conference MVPs, etc.) aren't that accepted elsewhere, expect perhaps in basketball and American football. Other sports do have similar infoboxes, but for national or world-level awards. Either way, there are ways to hide navbox clutter, so I don't think it's an issue. –HTD 23:06, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- You can only hide from readers that don't want to see any of them at all. Once "show" is clicked on the collapsed entries, it's like opening Pandora's box. This template aside, if you have a strategy to weed out undesirable navboxes, I'm willing to help.—Bagumba (talk) 01:13, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
- TBH, these templates are hidden if this feature is used. Well of course, if the reader wants to see those who are we to stop him/her?
- As for deleting navboxes, there's no easy strategy, but I certainly won't delete a navbox if its deletion sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd rather have a mass deletion of a specific class of navboxes, such as "all national team navboxes", or "all All-Star Saturday night navboxes", or "all consensus All-Americans navboxes". Or TFD one, and make sure there are other similar navboxes that have the same exact conditions. –HTD 11:23, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2015 FIBA Americas Championship qualification, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://self.gutenberg.org/articles/2013_FIBA_Americas_Championship_qualification.

Re: 2015 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship
Hi Howard the Duck! Could you please explain why did you modify the contents of the said article? It seems to me that it has lost details regarding the competition itself. Hoping for your quick response.
Thanks in advance.
Alexander marshall 07 (talk) 17:09, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
- The old version had a long exposition on the qualification process, which would be better served with a shorter and more compact version. Once the tournament starts readers don't want to see two tables that's not related to the actual games being played. We don't need two tables saying how things went when we could it on only one table. –HTD 17:31, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

DYK for Puerto Princesa mayoral recall election, 2015
On 15 June 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Puerto Princesa mayoral recall election, 2015, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that several of the 45 candidates in the 2015 Puerto Princesa mayoral recall election withdrew after being duped into signing up as candidates? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Puerto Princesa mayoral recall election, 2015. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

On natcco partylist
Hello, Howard the Duck!
Yung article on "Cooperative NATCCO Network Party", ikaw ba ang gumawa? I can't seem to edit the entry, but i can edit the contents of the text. Please remove the word "Network" because Coop NATCCO Partylist" and NATCCO Network are two different organizations. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by DONLUNA (talk • contribs) 04:59, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- First, please use English in discussions. We're not the only people here. Second, for lack of a widely known name, we usually defer to "WP:OFFICIAL name". The COMELEC website lists its name as "Cooperative Natcco Network Party", with the matching manifestation of intent PDF.
- If it could be proven that it's most common name excludes the word "Network" then perhaps there's good reason to go to WP:Requested moves. –HTD 21:05, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
