agt: the champions january 1, 2019

Hi, i understand that wikis are not acceptable sources but in that page, people wrote that they got information from people sources and they wrote the information on that site and thats the stuff that you removed from the agt champions page. and also in that wikis page there was also some people who went to the live taping back in october of 2018 and they were told how they were eliminating the acts from 50 to 1 in the 7 weeks time. and you removed that part also. so before i get blocked from here i was wondering that if i can find another website to use as a source will that be ok. donaldtrump 05:07, 2 January 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spanisharabic (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately that's the issue right there. People claiming they got information from other sources makes it hearsay that is impossible to verify. Content added to articles needs to come from verified third-party sources, be it print or online. Plus, just like here, anyone can edit wikis and therefore add dubious content, and if I went to an AGT wiki right now I wouldn't know the difference. I'm not saying that's happened in regards to AGT but it is a possibility. Hopefully this clears things up a little. sixtynine • whaddya want? • 05:29, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Done with EVERY type of football actually

On the deaths page, players of gridiron football are always called "football players". "Footballers" are understood to be players of association football (who are never "football players" unless they have separate "manager" credits). Rugby union or rugby league are similarly specified. Sometimes American players of association football are called "soccer players". But in Australia both association football and Australian rules football are played and any reference to an Australian as a "footballer" falls under the global presumption that the former is meant unless a specification is made. (Any player of the Australian sport NOT an Australian national would be in the same situation). NO EXCUSE NOT TO SPECIFY. LE (talk) 17:36, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gymboree, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi, have you ever considered running for RfA? You've got a good mix of content, AfD work and AIV reports, and it's always nice to have somebody else keeping an eye on the backlogs. On a more important note, per "I also have an annoying habit of editing some random article and then coming back to it later to work on it further for no apparent reason, whether or not I'm familiar with the subject.", you really should add your name to WP:SQUIRREL. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

Why can't we include characters who have archived footages in the film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation? What exactly is this "first-billed" thing that you state in edit summaries? 2605:E000:2E52:FA00:BD73:B758:4AFF:F6B4 (talk) 00:48, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

"First-billed" means the main cast of actors highlighted at the start of either the opening or end credits. (MK:A has no opening credits.) The cast in the article itself duplicates and lists them in the order they appeared onscreen. The rest of the cast seen while the credits are rolling are mainly bit parts (Mileena, Baraka, Scorpion, etc.); they aren't first-billed and therefore are omitted from the list of main players in the article. The archive footage in Annihilation falls into the latter category, as they aren't any more special than the "new" characters in MK:A, nor were the actors even credited. Restricting casts to "first-billed" is normally to avoid overlong lists in articles; that's where something like IMDb comes in. See WP:FILMCAST for further info, sorry for the overlong explanation and thanks for writing. sixtynine • whaddya want? • 06:01, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Brad Gobright

Could you identify which sources you think are WP:PRIMARY (i.e., "original materials that are close to an event, and are often accounts written by people who are directly involved")? The article may have sourcing issues, but none of the sources is primary. Thanks. 75.191.40.148 (talk) 16:33, 30 November 2019 (UTC)

Prior to his death, the article was sourced only from two publications that are related to his profession, six citations alone coming from one of them (Rock & Ice), while lacking in third-party coverage such as a national sports site or publication. sixtynine • whaddya want? • 17:15, 30 November 2019 (UTC)
Rock & Ice is third party coverage. Being "related to his profession" doesn't make it a primary source. Wikipedia often uses sources that focus on a specific topic, such as mlb.com for baseball; that doesn't make them primary sources. As I said, the article may have sourcing issues, but excessive reliance on primary sources is not one of them. I suggest changing the template to something more appropriate, or removing it. 75.191.40.148 (talk) 19:44, 30 November 2019 (UTC)
Article has since been updated and someone beat me to removing the tag. But...isn’t Facebook a nonviable source? sixtynine • whaddya want? • 21:24, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
I would agree that often Facebook is not a reliable source, but there is a way to verify if a Facebook page actually belongs to the person named, although I'm not sure how. In any event, the information sourced to FB has two additional sources. It doesn't seem to serve any purpose but I see no harm in keeping it. 75.191.40.148 (talk) 00:42, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

Happy Holidays

"May tonight's light keep us all gently soothed"

Thanks again for all of your help these past few years. It was very much appreciated. Wishing you and all your loved ones a happy and healthy holiday season. And remember to take the time to do what you want to do in 2020. Over the course of human history, only a relatively minuscule amount of people will ever be able to say they lived through 2020, so make it a good one! ;) Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 21:25, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

@Homeostasis07: Talk about a nice surprise. Thanks very much! As minimal as my contributions were, I'm glad for everyone involved that Jill Valentine finally made it to FA status. Hey, we also lived to see a millennium change as well. :) Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones, and I'll "see" you next year. sixtynine • whaddya want? • 04:21, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

Horrors of War (film)

The article should not be deleted at all. I am trying to improve the overall quality of the article about that movie, and you just keep deleting everything. Totally not helpful. How about you try to improve the quility, instead of just trying to delete everything? Right? Why are you railroading it for deletion? I'm trying to improve things. You are not. ZombieHorrorMovie13 (talk) 16:02, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

The user editing the page is clearly the filmmaker. No one would talk about a film in the way the editor is writing about it but the filmmaker himself. His name is Peter John Ross ans has had lots of articles removed, including his own Wikipedia page. The article should not have been removed from Afd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalface1981 (talkcontribs) 00:36, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

I know of peter and his cohort, and am trying to reach him on his talk page - thanks for your added tag, but it is likely he is not bothering to read them, some patience please until a common friend in canberra raises some issues with him off wiki within the relative short term - thanks... Please help if you have the patience, it might take a day or so for him to get the handle - to simply keep at him like this is potentially bad faith, there are some new editors it really takes time... even to get to reading their messages, thanks JarrahTree 07:13, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Minor edit

I didn't want to template you because you have been editing for quite some time. This is not a minor edit though. So here is the wording of the template for your reference:

Information icon Hi Beemer69! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia — it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.

Thanks. —DIYeditor (talk) 01:43, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Possible helpful sources

I haven't played the latest Mortal Kombat articles, but upon using twitter I have seen Ed Boon tweeting reviews of their 11 and the DLC which help into expanding reception sections, most notably narrative (meaning there might be more content for the characters). Here.

Hope it helps.Tintor2 (talk) 20:27, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

I've just expanded some parts from Liu Kang's reception due to finding some sources about 11. It might need some retouches so be bold to edit it if you feel like it. Also, there is a free image of Ed Boon which I added to Scorpion considering Boon makes his yell as well as claimed it is his favorite. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 20:03, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
