Nomination of Historic families of Ghana for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Historic families of Ghana is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Historic families of Ghana until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. power~enwiki (π, ν) 04:48, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
Move
Please don't move articles while they're at AfD, especially not to another namespace. It confuses the discussion and makes closing them more complicated. And where moving the article is under discussion (as it was in this case), you're pre-empting the consensus. Thanks. – Joe (talk) 09:23, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
Non-free image use
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically Salem School, Osu, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:10, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- The above also applies to Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong, Christ Presbyterian Church, Akropong, Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Osu and Christ Presbyterian Church, Akropong. While Wikipedia generally allows non-free logos to be uploaded and used for primary identification purposes in articles about organizations that the logo represents, this is typically only considered acceptable for articles about the parent entity and not articles about child entities as explained in item 17 of WP:NFC#UUI. This is why the use of File:Presbyterian Church of Ghana logo.jpg is fine for the article about the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, but not considered acceptable for articles about individual schools or churches which might be under the control of the main church. In such cases, a logo specific to the individual child entity should be used instead. I'm pretty sure this is part of the reason why Hullaballoo Wolfowitz removed the file from all of the aformentioned child-entity articles, but it's certainly why you re-adding the file to these articles was inappropriate. Your edit sum here also seems to misunderstand WP:VANDAL. Hullaballoo Wolfwitz's removal of the files was not vandalism at all, but entirely in accordance with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy; so, please be careful before accusing others vandalizing articles.
- If you'd like to discuss this, you can do so at WP:FFD or even at WT:NFC, but please don't re-add the file to these articles unless you can address the relevant non-free content use concerns. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:23, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

Kwaw Ansah and Thomas Mensah are not fellows of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Science. You could pay a visit to the institution to ascertain that for yourself. Robert K.A Gardiner has a mention of being a member,however from my numerous visits and my wide reading I have not chanced on this info and hence believe this to be false. However,I may have gotten it wrong for Gardiner but not for the two others Ataavi (talk) 17:17, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Copyright problem: Paul Boafo
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Paul Boafo, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images from either web sites or printed works. This article appears to contain work copied from http://kopunifrimpong.org/2018/08/27/dr-paul-boafo-elected-new-presiding-bishop-of-methodist-church/, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:
- Have the author release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License (CC BY-SA 3.0) by leaving a message explaining the details at Talk:Paul Boafo and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure they quote the exact page name, Paul Boafo, in their email. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If you hold the copyright to the work: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:Paul Boafo. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), version 3.0", or that the work is released into the public domain, or if you have strong reason to believe it is, leave a note at Talk:Paul Boafo with a link to where we can find that note or your explanation of why you believe the content is free for reuse.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries for a template of the permissions letter the copyright holder is expected to send.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Paul Boafo saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.
Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:07, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Please do not remove the {{copyvio/core}} template from articles, as you did with Paul Boafo. Your action has been reverted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept non-free text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted, and removing copyright notices will not help your case. You can properly contest the deletion at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. If you are the owner of the material, you may release the material under the Creative Commons and GFDL licenses, as detailed at WP:IOWN. Alternatively, you are welcome to create a draft in your own words at Talk:Paul Boafo/Temp. Copyright infringement
I can see that you are a new editor, but you need to know that Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. You must not copy and paste text from sources you find on the web into articles as you did in the article Michael A. Bossman. I have removed the infringing text, but the material you copied is subject to copyright, as is almost everything on the web, and when creating or expanding articles, you should completely rewrite the information from the source using your own words. Also, please note that an encyclopedic entry for Michael A. Bossman needs to have some basic information, but not quantities of unnecessary detail. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:43, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Your addition to Robert Patrick Baffour has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. This is your final warning. Further violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:14, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Energy Commission (Ghana). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CGKwamiBaeta.png
Thank you for uploading File:CGKwamiBaeta.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Also:
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 27 October 2019 (UTC)

The file File:Aggrey Chapel Choir.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
orphaned image, no encyclopedic use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jordan 1972 (talk) 19:11, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Ortha O. Barr Jr. moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Ortha O. Barr Jr., does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
