Use of edit summaries

[edit]

Please be careful not to use edit summaries which misrepresent what you are doing. For example, at ChiBi Crush Rangers you gave the edit summary "grammar fix" for an edit which made substantial changes to content of the article, and was not by any stretch a correction of grammar. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Frances Molina, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Estranged. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Removing notable road accidents?

[edit]

I just saw on your edit history showing removing the 2013 Manila Skyway bus accident event from 2013 in the Philippines. I doubt because of notability of the incident, like the deaths, and I want you to re-add it again. It has an article, and should not be removed from the 2013 in the Philippines, unless it is a not notable incident, having a low death toll, non-fatal or routine.

Also, can you avoid removing road traffic accidents that has its own article or proof of notability, not WP:ROUTINE events, and you should be removing non-fatal/routine accidents instead. It was since before your wikibreak that I questioned some event removals from articles named "[YEAR] in the Philippines". It's too bad to see notable road accidents removed from "[Year] in [country]" articles, like articles of each year in the Philippines, unless there is an obvious reason to remove them, like deaths featured in the "Deaths" section of those articles.--TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 11:32, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You see if you watch the news, fatal road accidents are sadly not that common. Air and maritime (as in ships and not little fishing boats) are more rare and are usually notable enough if fatal. The 2013 Manila Skyway bus accident is notable to have its own article, yes but it doesn't have any national implications such as a new national legislation in response (there calls but as far as I know there was none actually made) to the accident or resulted to a national record (the accident was only established as the deadliest in the Metro Manila Skyway). Imagine if decades later if these accidents are still relevant. For example I can name the sinking of MV Doña Paz, which is the worst maritime disaster ever in the country. Maybe you can ask for comments in WikiProject Years regarding how to approach this matter but I honestly believe my edits are within reason.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 13:09, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For the mean time, I would not oppose if you revert back the Manila Skyway accident. I appreciate efforts to comment on questions regarding events in the "X in the Philippines" articles.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 13:11, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
