Help

This page Syrian - Lebanese relations which is a needless redirect to an WP:COATRACK page was moved back to the redirect WITHOUT mention on the talk page despite my mention therefore. I was wondering how to redirect because now it wont let me "move" sicne the page already exists. Obviously per bilateral pages they must have their own pages and this one is under dispute anyways, would probs solve the dispute to the more neutral page. You can see on talk that the reverter has not even BOTHERED to answer my talk page comment on the move, One can see here he hasnt even responded to the page Lihaas (talk) 06:35, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Wiooiw

I know, I know...!

I conflicted with PeterSymonds - when I realised I'd stomped all over his indef I went to change it - but you'd got there first.

TFOWR 15:19, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

I didn't realise Peter had got there first, but indef makes sense. you have to wonder what he did to piss those guys off. They're certainly persistent. I thought you were on a wikibreak anyway! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:21, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Aye, I've got a couple of new alternatives to WP:AIV:
  1. if I see 10metreh (talk) revert anyone, anywhere - I keep an eye on the "anyone".
  2. Wiooiw's userpage ;-)
In this instance the two collided - 10metreh reverted a vandal at Wiooiw's userpage...
I'm not flying off until tomorrow afternoon. I'm taking a break from packing, cleaning, etc!

i dont understand what your saying...Yes i reverted the removal of the PROD tag on the article as there was a second approval of the nomination..tag was removed by creator of the article 2 times... Not sure what your saying we cant deleted the article in this way all some IP has to do is remove the tag?? whats the point of it ??? so we go were to get this deleted??Moxy (talk) 17:18, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) See WP:PROD--anyone can contest a ProD, and it then shouldn't be restored, it should be taken to AfD, as it appears you have done. dffgd talk·edits 18:00, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok..but you must be honest that does not make sense ..I could make an article call Indians are not Natives ..then just remove the delete tag to stop it, in the middle of the process of deletion even if other agree with it and have commented to delete it as well --So we are deleting other editors comments (not right) ..not to smart wonder how many article sneak through that way. Moxy (talk) 22:46, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Quite a lot - but they then get sent to AfD. Think of {{prod}} as a "test" to see if AfD is necessary: if there's any controversy about the deletion (i.e. someone contests the prod) then it's worth having a wider discussion - which is exactly what AfD is for. TFOWR 22:56, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
If it was a really bad article, it might fall into one of the criteria for speedy deletion. Any page that meets one of the relevant CSD (e.g. for an article it would be any of the G criteria, which apply to everything, and any of the A criteria, which are for articles; for a user page/subpage the G and U criteria would apply) can be immediately deleted, whether someone contests it or not. Any other page that anyone thinks shouldn't be deleted should go to the appropriate discussion (e.g. AfD for articles, MfD for user pages), {{subst:prod}} is just for articles that everyone thinks should be deleted. dffgd talk·edits 00:13, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

The code for mine is: {{DISPLAYTITLE:<span style="color:Teal; font-family:Tahoma"><span style="display:none;">User:</span>'''HJ Mitchell'''</span>}} if you just copy that and change it to what you want, it should work. If not, ask User:NSD. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:19, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Cgoodwin's RFA

Just wanted to comment on your question at this particular RFA. You wanted to know why Cgoodwin wants to be an administrator, which is fair, but I thought it might be enlightening to point out that I came to them asking if they would accept my nomination. Cgoodwin is not one of those users who personally wants the tools badly for one reason or another. All the best, Steven Walling 18:54, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

I was just slightly curious. I might find myself supporting him and, barring any skeletons in his closet, I certainly won't oppose, but he's not your "usual" RfA candidate if there is such a thing. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:57, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Hit & run SPA/Vandal

I don't even know where to think about taking this officially, but I'm pretty sure no normal editing tools will help trace all the attacks by this guy. Has Q supplied you with any super-secret admin tools that would work better than a standard search to be sure all the hits are found and reverted, not to mention maybe preventing future recurrences? Note that, in spite of the similarity of the entries, each is from a different, but closely related, anon IP. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] Oh, by the way, enjoy your Sunday evening... Fat&Happy (talk) 19:51, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

To be honest, mate, there's not much to be done except revert and ignore. Semi-protection's useless since he's targeting a different article every time and blocking one IP obviously won't do much good. If he's being a real pain in the arse, you could try to find a more competent admin to see if they can place a rangeblock. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:32, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that could get a bit messy; only two nodes of the IP seem to be constant, and that's not even guaranteed, so at least 64K addresses would need to be blocked. I was hoping there was some bot I wasn't aware of, along the lines of ClueBot, but flexible, which could watch for and notify of changes with keywords, like "Dudley" and "Rutherford". Oh, well...
On another note, since I'm here anyway, I was strongly tempted to revert you on the Madonna article a while ago. Doesn't WP:BLPCAT apply any more (at least for Americans; I see it stringently enforced for Irish Catholics)? Unless the way to self-identify as Catholic and have it be related to notability is to piss off the local bishop every place you visit... Just a random observation. Fat&Happy (talk) 01:05, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I thought she did identify as Catholic, but I'm only watching the article to see how the pending changes trial is going- I've no particular interest in her. You could try WP:EF/R- a bot would be a bit fiddly, but a filter could be a handy way of doing it if you can get it approved (I don't touch filters with a barge pole!). Hi, the new image you put on the article is giving a really big white space, at least on my monitor. Do you think that maybe the image, which is here, would be better to put to the left side until the section above it gets a little bigger with information? Also, I found your edit summary very warming to see for some reason. She is a very pretty young lady. I don't want to do anything with this yet so I brought it here to get your thoughts first. Thanks and keep up the nice comments in the edit summaries. It's actually nice to see. :) --CrohnieGal Talk 15:55, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Always the trouble when you have a relatively big image in a relatively short article. By all means, move it to wherever it looks best. :) It would be nice to get the article a bit longer. I might have a look at some point, but I've got a couple of other things I'm working on at the minute that I should probably get on with instead if procrastinating! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:01, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
The effects of page layout vary a lot on different sized displays, so it's a poor practice to judge by any one configuration, especially a small display. Left alignment is especially problematic in short articles and right alignment should be preferred; this is why it's the default. Sincerely, Jack Merridew 02:12, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Jack I've got a decent size monitor. I know it's not usual practice to get images to go to the left but it is done, esp. for articles that are short like this one is. When the article gets expanded the image can always be moved back over to the right. I'll take a look and see what you've done with it since you commented I'm thinking you went to the article to adjust things. Thanks to both of you, --CrohnieGal Talk 08:14, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
The problem I'm referring to is about people only considering how something looks on their particular system configuration. Try adjusting the window size to something considerable smaller than your display and watch how stuff gets arranged differently. Try zooming, too, both with and without images getting resized. And users have different image sizes set in preferences. All of this sort of stuff has an effect on how pages end up looking to people, and often the results are rather unsatisfactory.
A single-edit Verizon Wireless IP moved the second image to the left (which I reverted). In that version, I can get the "Personal life" section to begin to the right of the image. This is a poor layout. The core problem with this sort of page is a poor ratio of text to images/boxes. This girl's article sucks and is all images, boxes and tables, with only a modest amount of prose.
The second image is somewhat better and I'm thinking of cropping it to focus on her face and lose at least one of the microphones. I'd stick this in the infobox and cut the other one, which is quite harshly lit and one eye is completely in shadow. Sincerely, Jack Merridew 19:59, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Well pretty actresses are kind of my speciality, so I might see what I can do about expanding it at some point, but I'm currently working on one of her films. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:22, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I did the crop and swap and nixed both microphones. I saw a fragment of that film; her character was pretty cold; from the article, it seems she figured that out. Cheers, Jack Merridew 21:33, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

An important ITN item.

HJ,

I've updated the article on prostate cancer to reflect and explain the results of the study. Would you take a look at it, and please vote on it. Well it looks like we have more opposition now. I would have considered posting it when it was 50/50, but now we have 3 supports (including the nom) and 4 opposes, so there's certainly no consensus to post at the minute. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:42, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, and I believe I've only made the problem worse. Well, I'll own up to my own stupidity, forget the whole thing... consensus seems bound against it. Sorry for wasting your time and I shall strive to be less attached and more objective in the future. Cwill151 (talk) 20:08, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
You learn to accept that some items just won't go up for one reason or another while others, which you or I might consider infinitely inferior, will. With over 1,000 edits to ITN/C, though, I've learned not to get attached to nominations! :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:18, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi! Since you are an administrator, could you be nice and move AIK (ice hockey) to AIK Ishockey? AIK Ishockey is the official name of the club and with that name it matches the name of the Swedish article. Administrators can move articles over redirects. /HeyMid (contributions) 08:42, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Done. :) If it matters, anyone can move an article over a redirect with only one line in the history, but redirects with history need to be deleted first, but admins get a "delete and move" option. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:47, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

DYK Help

I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I'm willing to have a look. You're already past the fivefold expansion, so you don't need to worry about character count. It needs section headers and more substance really. I'll have a look... HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:19, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Let me state right out that this is a sore spot for me because I think our policy on "bot" usernames is silly. That being said, most of the time they are simply asked to change their name using {{uw-username}} and only if they flat out refuse to do so are they blocked. Also, I see no evidence in their talk page history that you ever informed them of the block as required by policy. The user seems to have done this themselves, now that I look really closely, is there maybe something else going on here that is not evident to the casual observer? Beeblebrox (talk) 17:17, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Good afternoon! ;) I don't disagree with you on the bot username policy. I soft blocked them for the username, but by the time I got to their talk page to notify them, they'd already notified themselves. I thought it was odd, but I've seen stranger things. Does that answer your questions? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:22, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Aw, I was hoping for some cloak-and-dagger intrigue. I can't say I've ever seen a user inform themselves of a block like that before, obviously this guy isn't a total noob here. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:26, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

But then one would be needed for that... Let's see... Perhaps have the alternate's alternate have a link leading back to this one if you aren't autoconfirmed, and unprotect this one? I think that would solve the problem pretty well. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 20:41, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

I think my solution is the best, personally. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 20:45, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Or the alternate could be unprotected and we forget this whole thing happened? I think that would probably be easiest. If we create an alternate for the alternate, the vandals will continue to, well, vandalize, and the trolls will continue to troll. We'd just keep having to create alternates. So like I said I think it'd be best if we just unprotect the alternate. The Raptor You rang?/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 20:50, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
What I did was create a fake alternate talk page and kept an eye on it, and when they started acting up, I locked down my main talk page and redirected it to the "alternate". Whenever they posted, I blocked them. In essence, I used the alternate talk page as a honeypot. —Jeremy (v^_^v Carl Johnson) 20:52, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

(edit conflict × 3) Or you could alternately (semi)protect each page, with it expiring in 15 mins/30 mins/an hour/whatever and hope the vandals aren't smart enough to figure out which page to use...but I just gave it away, so you can't use it. :) dffgd talk·edits 20:54, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

I think they think it's fun. They don't want to degrade Wikipedia. You know how boring life can get at times. They need something to do, so they vandalize Wikipedia. What some don't realize, though, is that their edits really go live right after they click "save page". And after they're reverted and warned, they probably just like to 'play with their prey' so to speak; that is, they think vandalizing further will upset us established users. And like I said, most are probably bored and have nothing better to do. That's what I think. The Raptor You rang?/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 21:07, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi Tariq, Recent Coronal mass ejection#CMEs has been updated with a (albeit short) paragraph and it's not in the past tense because the expected aurorae haven't occurred yet, but the solar flares are (I believe) happening now and the consensus at ITN/C was to post now and expand the blurb later (hence the second half of the blurb in the hidden comment). If I've missed something, let me know, if not, I'd be grateful if you'd reconsider. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:02, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

After that edit summary, I realized the mistake regarding the tense, but the reality doesn't make my complaint any less relevant. It's three short sentences, and it's debatable whether some of them even constitute part of the update (i.e. the first sentence isn't exactly talking about this event, as the paragraph is ordered fairly illogically). It seems even you recognized that the three-sentence update was rather minimal (in one of your comments on ITN/C). The Israel-Lebanon incident was recently posted, so I don't see what the rush is. That update is way below sufficient; I'm not even sure why this is debatable. -- tariqabjotu 00:15, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I believe someone is working on improving it, so I trust you don;t object if I put it back up once there's a bit more detail in the update? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I saw Cwill's remark on ITN/C, and I thought I mentioned it in my reply above (obviously I didn't). No, I don't mind; I trust his update will be reasonable. -- tariqabjotu 00:47, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
All right, thank, Tariq. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:49, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Quick!... need help on updating CME article.

HJ,

I just further updated the article and added in much needed prose. I also have a copy of the direct video taken by SDO of the initial event. I think what would make the article complete would be to have this 3 second video on loop next to the text, but I do not know how to input the file correctly. the url of the video is here: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html?collection_id=13587&media_id=16939864 . The video was taken by a NASA observatory so it should rest in the public domain. The video can also be directly downloaded from the same site free. Thanks for your help! Cwill151 (talk) 00:27, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure what to do with that, but if you post on the talk page of the article, someone might be able to help. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:33, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Righto! Cwill151 (talk) 00:55, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Displaytitle

Finally...

  • Good Lord: It took me a bloody hour and a half to finally configure Firefox properly to upload a video file to Commons and then to the article... Why do they make it so damn difficult? Anyway I just dropped you this line in case you wanted to see it for yourself... if you were at all interested... here. Cheers and happy editing! Cwill151 (talk) 02:08, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
BTW what happened to the picture file? No consensus to put it on MP? It's cool and all, but personally I'd rather have a far-U.V, high-res image of the Sun than a picture of some village in Lebanon... Cwill151 (talk) 02:12, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Also, now that I read your post, You could just say (Initial Pictured). It's a pic of the first ejection... why not go with that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cwill151 (talkcontribs) 02:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

just found you moved the page. but theres no mention even on talk about the move, let alone response. 2 of us came to agreement on that.

im not saying move it back and forth again, but can you put your 2p on the talk and well see for responsesLihaas (talk) 22:51, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Well if you're going to use a specific title like Adaisseh incident, you don't need to disambiguate it further. There didn;t exactly seem to be a firm consensus on the talk page, but if one develops, I can move it for you. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:56, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

CME Blurb expansion...

HJ,

There is documentation of the effects of the CME as aurorae over Canada last night, here. I think that's enough to finish the blurb on MP now. Right? Cwill151 (talk) 16:22, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey there HJ! Would you mind going over Pichilemu when you get the chance and helping me out setting up Talk:Pichilemu/GA3 so Diego can get to work? I'm pretty busy at the moment.....--White Shadows It's a wonderful life 20:11, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Just some questions

Hey, I'm fairly new at Wikipedia, and would like to know about your "Userboxen", and would like to know how to post such boxes on my own profile: For example: "this user is interested in heavy metal" -or- "this user is interested in norway"

I would be very very grateful for any assistance in this Maelstromlusby (talk) 22:37, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) This page has all the userboxes you need, and it's even organized into helpful sections. The Raptor You rang?/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 22:42, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

It's lucky I check these old nominations. ;) You are the second to propose 2010 Nigel nursing home fire for deletion in 24 hours... :O --candlewicke 23:33, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I thin that says something about its notability! It's a damn shame I can't speedy it. Hopefully the AfD I'm about to start will put the "article" out of its misery. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:36, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

ITN Black Sea

Hey, I'm not sure if you have seen it or not, but this item on the Black Sea has significant support and no opposes. It's in the new "needing feedback" template, so I thought I would bring it to your attention if you are looking for one to post today. --PlasmaTwa2 23:55, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Last time I checked (as you can see from the top of the page, I keep a very close eye on ITN) there seemed to be a consensus that we needed academic peer reviewed evidence before putting it on ITN. You might like to make comment in that section to draw peoples' attention to it. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:02, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello. I was hoping you could temporarily full protect the article due to moderate-sever vandalism. I would suggest the time span of two to three months? ChaosMasterChat 00:07, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Not wishing to be rude, but this isn't a noticeboard. Take it to WP:RPP. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:10, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
My bad. I initially went to that page and misread the section where it said to first ask the protection admin. I apoligize for coming to you; I thought the sentence said to first go to an admin. ChaosMasterChat 00:23, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.--Phoon (talk) 03:49, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Comes with the territory. If you're not brought up on ridiculous charges frequently by some disgruntled policy ignorer or violator then you're probably not doing your job. See WP:NOTNAS. Toddst1 (talk) 05:40, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

A belated thanks for the rollback and other bits you gave me after my self de-nom. I actually rarely ever use them (especially rollback, I prefer edit summaries in most vandalism situations unless it's a long list of edits I have to revert), but they are indeed situationally useful - thanks! I've been kind of busy just hanging around AFD trying to catch up on gauging current consensus - eventually newpage patrol time so I can get just a bit firmer grasp on speedies. Hi HJ, i see you protected the article on the floods in Pakistan from a page move a few days ago. There is support on the talk page to move the article to a new title (2010 Pakistan floods). Could you please take a look and consider moving the article or unprotecting it please? Thanks, and thankyou again for giving me rollback a few weeks ago, it is useful. :) BritishWatcher (talk) 21:13, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

You would have to move it to a redirect with history, wouldn't you? As if I'm not overworked enough! It's move-protected because articles like that tend to get moved back and forth a lot, which is bloody annoying while they're on the Main Page! I'll have a look with a view to moving it. Glad you;re finding rollback useful! :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:20, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

RfA

Please give me your honest opinion. When will I be ready for an RfA? TEK (talke-mail) 20:42, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Next year at the earliest is my guess. You've only been here since mid June :)--White Shadows It's a wonderful life 21:05, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Also is there any way my account can be disconnected from certain wikis? Would changing my username (again) do the trick)? TEK (talke-mail) 21:14, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Well when I went through RfA, I had a year of experience (and I still got opposition for not having been round long enough) and 15,000 edits. I don't have any real "criteria" as such, but a "good" candidate will have a proven track record of good work in the mainspace, good maintenance work (anti-vandalism, new page patrolling, something like that) and will be well established in the article talk and WP and WT namespaces and should have a proven and demonstrated knowledge of key policies. Also, as a rule of thumb, I look for at least 5,000 edits, not counting any to your own userpage. Participation at RfA is the best way to know what's generally required of admin candidates. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:51, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
If I were you, TEK, I would hang out at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship. Ever since I failed my RfA, I've been hanging out there, observing and occasionally voting. So now I have a pretty good concept of what requirements a user must have before becoming an administrator. I still have a lot of work to do, but come December I'm going for it again. My advice would be to apply in about a year. I know it seems like a long time, but trust me. My RfA failed when I didn't wait a year. The Raptor You rang?/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 21:55, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Restating my other (neglected) question from above, is there any way my account can be disconnected from certain wikis? Would changing my username (again) do the trick)? TEK (talke-mail) 22:01, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps, but I'm not entirely sure. You could give it a try. The Raptor You rang?/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 22:04, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
It's been solved now. Thanks! Ocean Shores Formerly TEK (talke-mail) 14:53, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
No problem. The Raptor You rang?/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 15:08, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)I would suggest having at least 3,000 edits for a content contributor and at least 7,000 for a vandalism reverter. (Those are bare minimums). I would also suggest at least 6 months of activity (activity meaning over 500 edits/month IMO) and no recent edit wars. Those are just my suggestions. Access Denied(t|c|g|d|s) 16:24, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Even with that, you're still going to get a few opposes based off of the time here and your edit counts :)--White Shadows Nobody said it was easy 16:47, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Kagan image

This was the first image I found I was 1) certain was free and not flickrwashed; and 2) easily croppable to just her face. However, the resolution is horrid. Mind having a look to finds something better? Courcelles (talk) 03:48, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Let me see what I can do. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:50, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Well, there is File:Elena Kagan 1.jpg is you can crop it. So many of them show her looking to the side, which doesn't work well on the MP. Courcelles (talk) 03:51, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Having looked through thee Commons cat, I'm sure the woman deliberately avoids looking straight at the camera! I agree that's the best we're going to get, though. I'm cropping it now. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:54, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Done. It looks reasonable to me now. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 04:03, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Is it just me or is WP as slow as heck tonight? Courcelles (talk) 04:15, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
It does seem quite slow, even by WP standards, but I'm going to bed in a minute, so that'll be one less person hogging bandwidth! Btw, how was this explanation? For an Englishman, I'm fairly well-informed on US politics, but I'm far from an expert, so I wouldn;t be surprised if i missed something important in that explanation. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 04:18, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
I had already made the tiniest of corrections :) On another note, the top two items on ITN are on completely encyclopaedic subjects...haven't seen that in a while. Courcelles (talk) 04:20, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Well it's obviously lacking because we don't post every piece of trivial US domestic news! ;) Btw, have you seen this? I'm by far the most prolific poster to ITN every month since I got the bit! Those stats make interesting reading actually. They must take ages to compile, though. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 04:27, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
What was I elected to administrate, anyway? You were elected to do ITN, and you do it- a lot, apparently! I was "elected" to help at AIV and ITN, and I do far more RFPP, CFD, and FLC-which doesn't require the bit- than AIV. I actually think I've produced more audited content since being sysopped than I did before hand. (Actually, I know I have, since my userpage now has five stars, and it had one when I was sysopped). Which of your lovely ladies has caught your eye for your next GA run... or, List of House episodes is sitting there and needs work... Courcelles (talk) 04:38, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Well, I certainly administrate ITN. It makes me sound quite important when you phrase it as "I'm responsible for maintaining the front page of the 7th most-visited website in the world"! Shame I don't get paid for it, though. I haven't produced as much decent content as I'd like since I got the bit, but I have done what I said I'd do in my RfA, as well as branching out into RfPP, the odd bit of AIV, protected edit requests and G11 (because I hate spam). As for my next pretty actress, I'd like to take on Jennifer Morrison, because she's extremely pretty and I love House, but the article's a bit of a state. I might stick with the Up in the Air theme and do Anna Kendrick (she has the most beautiful eyes!) since that's just bare bones and should be fairly easy to pad out. I wouldn't mind doing the House episodes- bring it into line with House (TV series) and Pilot (House), both FAs. I'd need your help, though, since lists aren't my speciality.
