Personal Attacks

You gave me two warnings for the same personal attack... about three weeks apart.

I'd go on, but by your system I assume I've crossed the line already and will receive another warning, followed by yet another in three weeks. 70.171.59.231 04:54, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

A landslide victory for The JPS (aka RFA thanks)

Hey, Gwernol/Archive 4, thank you so much for your vote and comments in my RfA, which passed with an overwhelming consensus of 95/2/2. I was very surprised and flattered that the community has entrusted me with these lovely new toys. I ripped open the box and started playing with them as soon as I got them, and I've already had the pleasure of deleting random nonsense/attacks/copyvios tonight.
If I ever do anything wrong, or can help in some way, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will do my best to correct my mistake, or whatever...
Now, to that bottle of wine waiting for me...

Viral marketing

I noticed you are also on vandal patrol tonight. I made a note about the viral marketing concerning DISH Network at WP:AN/I. Please feel free to comment there regarding what you have seen. Thanks. — Scm83x hook 'em 04:26, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the support on my RfA!

File:Danavecpurpletiger.jpg A belated thank you to you for Supporting my RFA! It passed 54/2/3, much better than I expected! I am still finding my feet as an Administrator, and so far I am enjoying the experience. I am honoured that you felt I was ready to take up this position, and wish to thank you formally! I hope I can live up to your expectations of me. Once again, thank you! --Darth Deskana (talk page) 19:24, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

"No Original Research"

Dear Gwernol:

I appreciate your kind response to my commentary on this article. About my question, it could be summarized as: "To create or to take from others - which way to choose?". But thanks to your answer, as well as others', it's getting more clear now.

Thanks again!

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.
Signed...

Zipmic notability

I still don't get the REASON that it is going to get deleted. Is it because there's no link to the auther of the site? just please tell me why! :(. I have looked in the guidelines and i'm not entierly sure why it cant be there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Code pcp (talkcontribs) .

Thanks for voting on my RfA

Mahogany

Thanks for voting in my RfA!

Thanks for your supportive comment and your vote in my RfA! The nomination did not gain consensus, but it was a good experience and I'm glad I accepted. Thanks again! - Amgine 19:45, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

IPvandal in the 67.*.*.* range is at it again

Take a look at recent edits to the da vinci code article. That idiot (sorry if that violates WP:CIVIL, but it's true) has continued to add his vanispamcruftisement links to Wikipedia. Just wanted to let you know. Also see User:67.101.134.76's talk page. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 00:31, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I did not.

I did not vandalize the Reaganomics page. I was using Lupin's anti-vandal tool and it popped up. See here for why. Please do not scurilously accuse me of vandaliam. Alethiophile 15:39, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I found the page the way it was. I did not know what was in the page before the vandalism and I had no way to revert it, so I nominated it for AfD. Perhaps I did the wrong thing in that, but that does not mean I vandalized it. Isn't Esperanza supposed to make life easier for people? Alethiophile 18:21, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

If you want vertibility i'll give it to you, I just don't know how. Do you want to hear from more people that help make it, want to go to our site, what do you want? Just tell me and my friends and I will do anything we can to get the page up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by colin.caldwell (talkcontribs) .

Brandon Crisp

Please don't remove LoPbN entries just bcz they are red lks. Brandon Crisp should go (bcz he's n-n), but LoPbN rd lks acquired articles at a 5% or 10% per month rate for a sample i checked, and they are in the spirit of WP's work-in-progress mode, as long as the person is notable.
--Jerzyt 04:51, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Tho i wouldn't do it that way, and would prefer others use even the cryptic "n-n" rather than contribute to creating the appearance that there's an anti-rd-lk policy, i see yr point. I'll keep this conversation in mind, & hopefully remember not to bug you about it again. [smile] Thanks -- and thanks for caring abt LoPbN!

My RFA

Hi Gwernol/Archive 4,

Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future.

Cheers

"experimenting"

I wasnt experimenting with Morgellons I was changing it to reflect actual medical FACT. Morgellons is NOT a disease. It IS an internet myth perpetuated by those looking to take advantage of people with serious psychological problems. ie delusional parasitosis. By treating this as a real disease your site perpetuates this delusion and keeps people with legitimate psychological problems from seeking the psyciatric treatment they need! 65.191.98.11 11:24, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

You said, "Please let reader form their own opinion, rather than trying to force yours onto the article."

Let me put this bluntly. There is NO ONE with in the actual AMA or CDC or any other recognized medical body who sees this as anything orther than what it is. A psychosis. Morgellons is a MYTH perpetuated on the internet by snake oil salesmen to take money from psychologically disturbed individuals! By presenting this "side" you are supporting people who fleece those with mental disorders. I hope you are proud.

Vandalism on my user page

Thanks for reverting. Cheers. -- Samir (the scope) धर्म 12:12, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Dear Gwernol/Archive 4 — Thank you for your support on my recent RfA. It succeeded with a final tally of 72/2/0 and I am now an administrator. I'll be taking things slowly at first and getting used to the new tools, but please let me know if there's any adminnery I can help you with in the future. —Whouk (talk) 03:44, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
