Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Woodroar (talk) 13:07, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

Re: Reference for Calcutta medical College
Hi! This is pure telepathy! Just now, before signing in to wikipedia, I was incidentally reading the Calcutta medical college article (after several months); and I noticed the mention of that centenary volume in the references. I was thinking I wish I had that book, or, at least, the book was easy to retrieve. Then after a few minutes, I logged in, and found your message! It's extra ordinary coincidence!
To answer your question, no I do not have that book.--Dwaipayan (talk) 03:41, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Well, the book will not be readily available for sure. The whole College Street market system does not have any catalog system for old books. So, you will have to depend on the memory of experiences shop-keepers. They interact with each other in a collaborative ay; so, if there exists any copy, you might be able to find that out. However, I seriously doubt it.
- In the reference section of the article, I added this new entry *Das, Anirban; Sen, Samita (2011). "A history of the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital, 1835-1936". In Dasgupta, Uma (ed.). Science and Modern India: An Institutional History, C. 1784-1947. Pearson Education India. pp. 477–522. ISBN 978-81-317-2818-5. This essay has a lot of information. The authors have listed that centenary volume as one of their sources. So, these authors may have access to a copy. One of the authors is in Center for Studies in Social Sciences (http://www.cssscal.org/anirban_das_contact.html). You may try contacting him.--Dwaipayan (talk) 14:31, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- That is indeed a brilliant thought. the college library should have it. However, I wonder what would be the preserved condition, if it is there. You should ask a dependable librarian. Which year are you in?--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:08, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
- Great. Welcome to the fraternity! I was in your position many years ago. Phew... 12 years! If you really want to find out that book, and don't get it in college library, there must be a copy in the National Library. There is a copy in microfilm in the Library of Congress, and a few other libraries, but in none that are near me.--Dwaipayan (talk) 01:54, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
- Any luck in finding that book?--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:14, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- Who are not able to find it? The libraians in college library? That means library does not have a copy.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:27, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- The book is in the National Library, I searched their catalog. See http://www.nationallibrary.gov.in/showdetails.php?id=245535. --Dwaipayan (talk) 21:45, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Glad to help as and when I can. Will let you know when I have completed. Iztwoz (talk) 19:35, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
Done what I can. Just to suggest there are some unexplained abbreviations on the metro page such as RVNC, EM bypass, NGEF that mean nothing to the uninitiated. Also the word 'ridership' in an info box is not real word, would have changed to no of passengers but couldn't make the change without upsetting box format.
