Welcome![edit]

Greetings!! Some fresh Bangladeshi Pitha (Special cake) to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Great Hero32! Thank you for your contributions. I am Vinegarymass911 and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or place {{helpme}} on your talk page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Since you've shown some interest in editing topics related to Bangladesh, we hope you'll stay and add content to Bangladesh related articles. A number of important articles related to Bangladesh are yet to be created and many of the existing ones are in poor shape. You can help it improve by becoming a regular editor with adhering to the policies of Wikipedia. Consider joining or watchlisting Bangladesh related discussions (for example, Noticeboard for Bangladesh-related topics).

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Vinegarymass911 (talk) 15:20, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects[edit]

Hi, I'm curious to know why do you keep adding then deleting redirects from existing pages? Polyamorph (talk) 08:08, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but your explanation on my talk page makes no sense. Your actions are an unnecessary burden on the new pages feed, because every time you create and remove a redirect the article is re-listed for review. Just edit the desired page (you can just use the search tool and work from the result) without creating a redirect - it's really an unnecessary step. Thanks Polyamorph (talk) 13:38, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Source edit the page with the redirect, don't redirect an existing page. I have seen this similar editing for a number of pages by IP addresses. Do you edit outside of your user ID? Please stop redirecting existing pages. As Polyamorph has noted it just increases the work for new page reviewers.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 21:20, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Vinegarymass911:. Elaborating slightly, if you are redirected from the page you want to edit, then click on the link at the top of the page that says "Redirected from ". Then edit that page directly instead. Polyamorph (talk) 22:37, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't understand what did you say? Please explain more deeply. Great Hero32 (talk) 06:29, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Simply put, just edit the page you want directly. Do not create and delete redirects to achieve this, it is disruptive. Any questions ask at the WP:Teahouse where editors who have more time to help beginners will be able to assist you. Polyamorph (talk) 14:14, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Creating articles[edit]

When you create an article like Fatikchhari, please remember:

  • Always give a reference to the source of your information - you may "know" all about the place but we need references to reliable published sources
  • Remember to mention the country in the text of the lead sentence. It's an international encyclopedia, and the subject should be clear from that first sentence, without having to read the infobox.

Thanks and Happy Editing! PamD 11:50, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rangunia moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Rangunia, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your contributed article, Chandpur, Bangladesh[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Chandpur, Bangladesh. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Chandpur District. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Chandpur District. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. --Nahal(T) 07:42, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for August 27[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of cities and towns in Bangladesh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daulatpur Upazila (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:20, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Redirecting and un-redirecting long standing pages[edit]

Please stop redirecting long-standing pages and then undoing those redirects as you did at Daganbhuiyan Upazila. That causes other editors a bit of clean up work. Thanks.Onel5969 TT me 21:50, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copy-and-paste move[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Jessore (town) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Jessore. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Notice

The article Balish Misti has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no evidence of notability for the particular candy

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Always cite reliable published sources[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Worldbruce. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Feni, Bangladesh, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:15, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

October 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm JalenFolf. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Lalmohan. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.
