Mixxx

Maybe you could merge Mixxx into some other article. There is List of Linux audio software which could probably fit up to a paragraph from the article. Joe Chill (talk) 23:30, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I am sorry for deleting the reference, I thought it was a dead link. Maybe you should link it to google books. Pantelhs (talk) 01:49, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited Sixty Minute War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dark age (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

PassaMethod at it again

See these edits.[1][2] Is there no one who can stop this user's reign of terror?

I'm coming to you because I noticed that you have recently reverted his edits. Well, to see why I don't like any of his editing, see these discussions or topics.[3][4][5][6]. He is a horrible, horrible editor, often including WP:OR or outright falsehoods (as seen at the Virginity article where you reverted him[7]) or misrepresentation of sources. 113.106.194.221 (talk) 13:21, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Okay, do you mind removing the part which says "is for the purpose of sexual arousal and erotic satisfaction?". Porn can be for varous other purposes, such as leaning sex positions, curiosity etc. Pass a Method talk 06:49, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Chip's Challenge

Thank you for your comments on Chip's Challenge. Being in a unique position of knowing Chuck, I have been updating the page with the information that relates to the games he created.

Chuck to this day is still asked lot's of questions, so I have post the answers to the most common ones. I hope that make sense. I have edited the page with your comment in mind. Thanks Allack (talk) 06:32, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

I'm glad you found that helpful, but you judging by your edits, you've decided to largely ignore my suggestions. I modified your edits for a reason, and you haven't addressed that reason. You need to format the images correctly. They look like an advertising banner. Please stop adding promotional material to Wikipedia! This is not a venue for you to promote Chuck Sommerville, or his work, or any game maker or company. Are you involved with Niffler, the company that makes these newer games? Grayfell (talk) 07:17, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Looking at the new edit could you please let me know what your suggestions are? Regarding the banner the last one was the image below which I removed as I though it was too much like an advert. Allack (talk) 07:22, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree, that is really, really inappropriate! I think you need to read this article: Wikipedia:Picture tutorial. The pictures need to look consistent with the rest of the site. They should have text explaining what they are. This is very important, since many people use Wikipedia from connections with low bandwidth (phones, for example) and turn pictures off by default, or have alternative technologies because they are visually challenged. Having a caption helps with both of those situations. The pictures themselves can and should be a lot larger, but they should be in thumbnail form when used on the page. I'm sure you've noticed that when you click on an image in Wikipedia, it usually shows you a much larger version of that image. The tutorial explains all that.
Keep in mind that the page is about Chip's Challenge, not Chuck's Challenge, and especially not Chuck's Challenge 3D, which hasn't even been released yet. I think you need to remove the 3D game pictures, at least until the game is actually released. I think you should crop the photo of Chuck, and place it as a thumbnail off to one side. I think you should remove the title screen picture. At some point it's possible that Chuck's Challenge will warrant an article of it's own, but until then, one picture is plenty, and I think the in-game screen shot is a lot more useful.
There are a couple of other points, but that's a good start. Grayfell (talk) 07:52, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Graham Robertson

Hello Grayfell. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Graham Robertson, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Directing a film produced by Steven Soderbergh is an assertion of importance. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 19:26, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Humans as animals

Thanks for the reminder that in the context of general biology (or zoology), human beings are primates, which are mammals, which are animals, etc. However, that is not relevant to most articles on human beings. For example, in a legal article on bestiality, would you insist on a phrase like "people having sex with other animals" instead of the ordinary usage?

Don't worry, people won't forget that biologists classify humans as mammals if we refrain from taking every possible opportunity to remind our readers of this. --Uncle Ed (talk) 04:43, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Please don't condescend to me. I don't see that the article is explicitly about human anatomy. The article is merely titled vagina. Let's be clear and scientific, and properly label things what they are.Grayfell (talk) 04:50, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Grayfell, I don't think Ed is being condescending. His views and knowledge base are somewhat different from the generally accepted expert views. Also, it may be a waste of time to try to explain scientific views to him. Many have tried over the years, with indifferent success. Good luck. I have never been able to figure out whether Ed is intentionally obtuse or not, but the end result is the same. He can be frustrating to work with, but don't let him bother you. KillerChihuahua?!? 14:50, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, I over-reacted. After all, I would hate to live in a world where I am the only one who gets to decide whose opinion matters. I still don't really understand his accusations of POV-pushing (is it an evolution thing?) but then again, 'if you're not confused, you're not paying attention'. Grayfell (talk) 21:56, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
No, it is not an evolution thing, it is an Ed thing. He's fond of reminding people he contributed to the NPOV policy, but doesn't mention he's had dozens of articles summarily deleted as POV forks. He doesn't realize how much of a POV pusher he is, as he doesn't comprehend his views are not neutral; he tends to warn anyone who fails to agree with him of POV pushing. He means well, I think, but he's more in his element on Conservapedia editing articles like Unguided evolution (an article he tried to write here, which was moved to Relationship between evolution and divine guidance and subsequently deleted.) KillerChihuahua?!? 01:18, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
Wellwoujdalook at that! The edit history of that article explains it. Alright, I feel better now. Thanks for the history lesson, Killer. Grayfell (talk) 01:30, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
No worries. Be aware he is under probation; if he POV pushes or disrupts any article take it to ANI and reference Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Ed Poor 2#Remedies. KillerChihuahua?!? 01:46, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Greyfell, I am Aks_yoyo. I have no issues with the edit. It was a little biased, though it was true. Maybe the presentation of facts was a bit twisted, but I am guessing a straight stating of facts would still have lead to removal of content. This edit was just a way for me to get my voice heard and nothing more, as tiny voices are seldom heard. —Preceding undated comment added 11:35, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

QNET page: far from being unbiased and neutral

Hi Grayfell, appreciate your input so far, please note that I have been working diligently to amend and enhance the quality of the QNET page as now it is far from being a neutral reflection of the company and the business opportunity it constitutes.

There are literally millions of QNET members around the world and without exaggerating, this article is an offense to most of them.

QNET is a well established corporation by now, 700 million dollar revenues in 2007 according to a source on Forbes.com.. The company has double the number of IRs than Herbalife for one thing and as pyramid schemes are unsustainable, QNET was long supposed to be dead by now, but the reality is its one of the very few survivors who made it past the 10 year mark.

It has reputable leadership (Dato Vijay Eswaran is a DATO in first place) and the company is the sponsor of the most prestigious sport events. None of this &good stuff& transpires from the current article.

That being said, please help me fix this page, I submitted new content pertaining to the business model and corrected some mistakes(please read above), I was hoping that I had received sufficient backing to make some important changes from the numerous exchanges I had with two other Wikipedians till now, including you..

All I can say is that whoever wrote the article was biased and inaccurate. The history section has little substance, there is no talk of the management/leadership, the business model part is flawed, the $250 dollar figure quoted seems to have come out of the blue and guess what, its senseless in the absence of background info.

Furthermore, the references on the current side that I opened are non existent, inactive links or similar..

THE VERSION THAT I UPLOADED contained high quality references such as FORBES.COM, which is probably the most reliable and authoritative source of the whole article if we really want to be picky

I am offering BETTER sources and making the page more meaningful so I really dont understand why I am encountering so much resistance in improving the quality of the page (which now is mediocre at best) (Wikigeekpower (talk) 06:08, 24 August 2012 (UTC)).

Request for comment

A discussion has been opened at Wikipedia:No_original_research/Noticeboard#Frank_L._VanderSloot, where all discussion should take place.

The questions are:

  1. Based on the claim of Synthesis, should the original version or the revised version of the LGBT Section be used in the article from henceforth—of course with the ability to edit it as necessary?
  2. Because the original "LGBT issues" Section adversely comments on a Living Person, should that section be immediately replaced with the revised section—of course with the ability to edit it as necessary?
  3. Should the Sources identified as faulty or not germane be eliminated from the list of References?

Change in content of Mu Sigma Inc.

The content on the wikipedia page of Mu Sigma Inc. is in lines with the content provided for other companies in similiar space. I would like to work this out in a more conducive manner. Is there any reference link that you can provide which will help me understand the apt way to represent Mu Sigma in the references? The award winnings and milestones that the company has bagged is a testament to the fact that they are a growing company, industry bodies are taking note, and also build credibility to what I have posted on the wiki page.

Thank you Greyfell for your help and support on the artist Above's wiki page. I have been seeing your contributions and revisions. I am a huge fan of his artworks so I'm sorry if some of my biases and language appears to be promotional. Thank you again for making his page up to code on wikipedia.

Okay thank you again Grayfell for your support and modifications. Your revisions look stronger and more refined and I just want only the best for the artist's wikipedia page. I will try to tone down my links and enthusiasm for this artist in the wikipedia page. I did try to mimic how you did your external links with different cities for instance. I hope together we can complete the rest of his 2012 year on that page as this is still in need of information.

Asaram Bapu

This is a friendly suggestion/idea (not notice or alert etc), ignore it if you want: don't do any more revert in that article in next 24 hours. You have already reverted thrice, which might be a violation of WP:3RR. I am watching the page, if you see he has reverted again, you can inform me, I'll revert it there! Seeing his talk page, I can not understand if his recent activities have been reported. He has clearly violated WP:3RR.

Just another note, I believe, the subject is large followers and devotees in some states of India. Since the first result of search engine— Wikipedia— is harming his image, his followers are constantly adding flattering information to glorify the character. So, their edits need to be reviewed.

The worse point is all of these editors are very annoying. They keep on asking the same question again and again unless you get tired and all of them lack basic formatting knowledge.

To some extent, I agree with them, the article is more a list of controversies. But, the way they are adding information is not acceptable. Personally I am not going to revert wholly if I see they create a section "Religious life" and describe his activities etc with RS. But, they won't understand this and will keep on adding details here and there without any relevance or context. To explain this, Bapu's Satsang can be mentioned only if the article has some information on his similar religious views and activities. But, just mentioning Satsang (many readers will ask "What is "Satsang") is baseless! --Tito Dutta (contact) 06:48, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for the heads-up! I had not realized I had reverted three times already, I should be more cautious. I agree with what you're saying, I would really like to see better information about him that's not just the controversies, but it's difficult to track down good sources, I guess.Grayfell (talk) 06:54, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
