Hi, I am also involved in the task of getting the Republic of Giambi re-instated onto Wikipedia. If I am under the correct assumption, it just needs to include 3rd party sources to not be consistently deleted? Are we supposed to have the graphs and charts clearly visible in a picture format rather than a link? I added two external links that discuss the subject's background before his professional career began, and you callously removed them. The reasons given for the removals are inadequate, and a more detailed explanation of your actions is expected. Survivor Tocantins Tribe Colors?
Hi, Gogo Dodo. I was the anonymous user with the I.P. beginning with 72 who was just editing the Survivor Tocantins page a few minutes ago... Sorry for not leaving a message explaining why I needed to change the colors of the tribes. The colors I substituted for the old ones are the actual pixel colors on the Survivor Buff pictures on CBS Store (www.cbsstore.com), which are not photos, but actual images of the official designs and colors. And the color values I managed to calculate through OS X Color Picker, was:
Jalapao: #B90005; Timbira: #1E1C21; and Merge Tribe: #006730.
I noticed a slight difference in the colors before I edited, so I did it with the intention of making this article more accurate.
Thank you for reading.
W.W.
P.S. And I would also appreciate it if you let your fellow admin, Maxamegalon2000 be informed with this message... It seems that I can't leave him/her one on his/her Talk Page.
- I checked the images in question for the two buffs and they are probably not the best thing to color pick as the images are dithered when zoomed in, not solid. So the colors you selected are not entirely accurate. As for Maxamegalon2000, you should be able to leave a comment on his user talk page as it is not protected. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:17, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
I picked the colors at the most solid place I could find in the enlarged images -- in the longer vertical stripes, and only the darker, more saturated of the two colors (one's slightly lighter than the other). I still think that at least this would be more accurate than the previous version of the article, especially Timbira's color, which, even in the show, is easy to tell that it was not completely black, for the eagles on the border of the buffs are darker in shade than the buff background. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.10.114.16 (talk • contribs)
- Alright, but I would still recommend bringing up any color changes on the Talk page and get a consensus on the before you make the change. After editing many of the past seasons, I have found that setting the tribe colors is very contentious issue. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Disagree with changes to Shopping Cart Software
We disagree with the changes to the shopping cart software page. All of the edits we made were useful and there was no second agenda. The article "as is" really does not provide much value at all. For example, many users have requested links to current directories that list Shopping Cart Software programs. The one there now, which links to the Open Directory Project, is not useful since that list is incomplete and outdated. We had researched and added several useful links. In addition, the list of pros and cons to Licensed vs. Hosted solutions was useful and accurate. I don't understand why removing it would improve the article. To the contrary, you removed information that can certainly be useful. Earlyimpact (talk) 00:29, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Yahoo Answers
Hello,
I would like to leave an edit at the following page: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Yahoo!_Answers
It has been removed a few times. Could you please tell me what I should do (corrections, placement, etc), in order to ensure that it is not removed?...
Thanks!
- More often than not, the reason questions and answers are removed are not as a result of Yahoo Answers staff, but of it's users. At times, the violation email you receive is automatically generated, and based on what the user(s) selects as a reason when he/she reports you (chatting/insulting others/spamming etc), this is the reason that will appear within the Yahoo violation email as well.
- If enough users report a question/answer, it will be removed automatically, sometimes within minutes. Some people have multiple accounts, as Y!A permits up to 10 accounts per IP address. With that said, if a person with several accounts also happens to be a Report Troll, he or she is able to do as they please and create problems for others. Persons who abuse the report button are documented, and over time will lose their reporting power. Also, Yahoo Answers keeps track of its members Thumbs Up/Down ratio automatically, which in turn can also effect ones reporting validity.
- Yahoo Answers does not have the man power to look into every reported question/answer, hence the auto-violation email. Based on the experiences of many users...deleted questions/answers are usually a direct result of vindictive angry users with nothing better to do than troll and report other users, sometimes resulting in account suspensions.

Man, I tell you...I just give up. Short of rangeblocking each and every one of his IPs or his becoming incapacitated is going to keep this little freak off of this site, so we'll just have to tag and bag the socks and hopefully take a break for another couple of months. I locked down his pet Eloise article for the next six months and I'll do likewise to every one he decides to mess up from now on. If there's any good thing to be said about him, he's consistent in his choice of articles and he'll be easy to lock out for at least a little while, assuming he doesn't suddenly decide to switch to other topics. So, now that we're at the start of baseball season, Eloise will be safe until roughly the World Series. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:11, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

speedy deletion of AY Online
Hi there
A novice wipikedia person requires a little guidence...
We simply wanted to highlight what we do, we carefully did not put loads of links into the page. Could we write a review of the site rather than an advertising page.
We are just concerned that our town needs community based organisations like ours, especially to help folks unite together. We do not wish to turn this into an advertising site but simply to point out that we cover all areas of our town life.
Things are so splintered with one part of local government doing one thing and another doing something else that new people to our town don't always knwo where to go for what. We are not the big money grabbibg organisation but a small virtually non-profit, organisation that exists soley to help folk in the town navigate online to the different businesses and so on that exist.
Please advise if and how we can include ourselves here or if you'd perfer we simply did not.
Thanks so much for any help or advice you can give :-)
regards

removal of AY Online form the Aylesbury page ??
Hi there,
Thanks for your kind message to us. I have read this all and am happy with what you have said. However, I have one question. Whilst AY online can't have it's own page that I understand but we are well known in our town and it IS A FACT that Mix 96 is the radio station, Bucks Herald is the local paper and AY Online is the online information web site that covers all areas of town life. It is true that there are some other town information sites run by the council and one or two others but none cover all areas of our town except AY Online. I know this is a self proclaimed fact, but it is the case.
Please can you help me understand why this has been removed from the Aylesbury Article ?
If it was on the 'basis of no advertising' then why do the radio station and newspaper remain ?
It could be argued that Mix 96 is 'advertising' since BBC 3 counties radio also covers Aylesbury, or the Bucks Herald is 'advertising', as Aylesbury is also covered by other printed news publications.
I am simply trying to understand the boundaries and the basis for removing all traces of AY Online when we provide a FREE service like Wikipedia and our 'one line' inclusion on the Aylesbury page was FACTUAL and not a huge advertising slogan.
We have been going for over two years and are pretty well established here, so we are not a brand new organisation. We are simply not well known outside our town so there is little material on the web or in print about us. This is due to the fact that we do not bother to engage or promote ourselves outside of the context of Aylesbury.
Any help would be appreciated.
Please can we simply add to the Aylesbury article
...paper ...radio staion. AY Online is the local Online information service that covers all aspects of town life.
regards and thanks

Mohammed Ben Sulayem
Thank you Dodo.
I'm relevantly new to Wiki and it took a while for me to understand content editing/adding policies.
I'd appreciate if corrections to the following para on Mohammed Ben Sulayem are done:
Original para reads:
"Sulayem is President of the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE) and as such has been appointed by the FIA and FIM as the official representative to oversee all motorsports events in the UAE. He is also Chairman of the Organising Committee for the UAE Desert Challenge, a race that he launched in 1991. The event has since become the final round of the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup."
The fact is:
the UAE Desert Challenge is now the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge and, it is no more the final round of the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup, but the first round of the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup.
I understand as an employee of the ATCUAE of which Mr. Ben Sulayem is President, it would be inappropriate of me to edit Wiki contents on him. Given this, I'd appreciate if the suggested changes are made at the earliest to reflect the factual position of the Desert Challenge. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthonyatcuae (talk • contribs) 13:20, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Regarding your linking to Woodleigh School
Please stop linking to the Woodleigh School article on various town articles in the region. Normally, schools are only linked in the town or city where it is located or where a significant portion of it student population originates from. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:05, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
1 - Woodleigh School serves all these towns and the pupils live in these towns. This is Woodleigh's catchment area.
2 - You have deleted many items completely unrelated to links!
You have systematically removed every edit I've made in the last hour. This is extremely childish behaviour.
The suggestion of spam is very short sighted and suggests some vested interest in your action perhaps?
At the very least perhaps you might have bothered to ASK before deleting in such a thoughtless and haphazard fashion.
I notice a number of other schools choose to link the same way. Also, So what is you problem exactly?
I feel that any further action by yourself and any failure to immediately reinstate these edits would surely warrant a formal complaint to Wikipedia.

Ning Controversies
Hello!
Wanted to check in with you on the Ning Controversies section. A while back I flagged this section for Kollision [2]. Kollision made some edits and posted a notice about the dispute here [3]. Then you got involved and offered your 2 cents.
Unfortunately, constructive edits have been consistently reverted by one or more users[4]. The problems with the current version are pretty well documented[5].
At this point, I'm a little pessimistic about achieving consensus here. That said, I do passionately want to see an unbiased, well-sourced section. Do you have any thoughts on how to make this happen?

- Thanks. You may want to check out Ning Talk; there is an edit war going on and it's getting fairly violent. Also, this contributor [6] seems to be a meatpuppet for User:Muggzzi, although I haven't done any serious investigation. The sad thing is this edit war is over minor details to a section that needs a complete overhaul. In my perfect world the article would be restored to a previous good version and protected somehow from the unproductive edits of a few editors. I don't know if that's realistic. Nasty Band in Go-go
Hi there - I noticed that someone has added in a large new section of Go-go and that you and I have both reverted the section. It has a fair amount of hype and commercial material. However, it does seem that there is at least some press about the band - I found a cover story from the Washington City Paper from 2002. Dear Gogo Dodo, I apology what I mentioned your name in my comment related to the issue of Pings Xiao. In my mind I respect the people who speak for the public and reality. Since I'm a new user in Wikipedia; if I did anything that affected you or your reputation, here I said I'm very sorry. And if you give more chance to communicate you, I'm happy to learn from you. Please suggest to me how to solve my problem which gave you a lot of headache. Remove the comment I made ??Hectorso (talk) 03:12, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Hector So

deletion
Hello, I note that you have deleted my recently submitted page The Grand Order of Water Rats. I am confused about this. Please be assured that this organization is a long standing, highly repected charity and all the facts I stated are true and can be checked on the website www.gowr.net It really is important for The GOWR to be included in Wikipedia. Please reconsider and reinstate the page. Many thanks, Yours sincerely Mike Vinden (user) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike Vinden (talk • contribs) 08:11, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

I will not stop editing the table header. Fine. Only Survivor Tocantins will not be changing since this season has not yet ended in a moment. Survivor Gabon has already been done. The rest of the seasons. I changed the table format for the contestants already. Thank you. Raymarcbadz (talk) 03:08, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Crazy vandalism
Can you delete my talk page entirely I dont really need it and it has become a log of sexual references and vandalism that is both pornographic and insulting. The poster is not going to stop and will simply use other IP's and user names to continue with his pornographic and homophobic rants. It is upsetting that Wikipedia allows this type of content to show up in the history where anyone even children can search and be exposed to such graphic comments. It is clear that this poster and his allies are simply trying to corrupt the nasal irrigation article and contineu to attach me in the most ugly manner. I am just ignoring the comments.

Call for support of an AFD
Sorry for removing the comment on Talk:Survivor: Tocantins, and I understand the reasoning. After reading it again, and after reading Wikipedia:CANVASS, it seems to me like it should have been removed considering the wording and the placement. However, I'm sure you know more about this than I do, and I didn't indicate that as my initial reasoning in my edit summary. If you have any thoughts on this, let me know, otherwise no problem and I will try to refrain from removing anything but vandalism comments in the future. Thanks! - I deleted the article twice, once in 2007 and once in 2009. In the 2009 revision, there was not meaningful content. The 2007 deletion was due to the lack of notability per notability guidelines for inclusion on Wikipedia. You are welcome to create and account restart an article about him, but please make sure that he meets the aforementioned notability guidelines. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 03:41, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

How should I start an article about a company then? I helped a friend of mine start the Executive National Bank article, and it was not removed. Is it that I am or am not including something I should not? Your comment on the delete log was not very clear to me. It is relevant because it is a company that exists in the public domain just as any other small company that is found on wikipedia.

I noticed that you are among two editors who deleted a poorly-sourced, perhaps plagiarized, article on musician Emily Wells. The other one is on a "Wikipedia break", so I hope you can help me. I have created an article which contains notable and reliable sources such as NPR, Spin Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal, and details her releases, touring activities, and collaborations, in an attempt to demonstrate that she is indeed notable enough to be on Wikipedia.
This new page can be found here:

I would like to request that the Emily_Wells page be unlocked so I can make my version live. If you feel my article is still not sufficient, please give me any feedback you feel might help me improve it to the point where it could become a public Wikipedia entry.

Message from Andrewwisne
Mr. Gogo Dodo-
Wikepedia pages exist formany former Notre Dame players for simply being that. That is notable in itself. I have put hang on and rewritten the article. There are many reason it is relevant and notable. Andy was the subject of a first place story about overcomming bi polar disorder, a concussion, two near fatal car accidents, being a former starting defensive lineman for Notre Dame. Being a football player for Notre Dame is noteable in itelf but there are so many aspects ( including storys- LA Times 2002, and "out of the Darkness" in 2007) that comprehending it all might lead to skimming the information or not realizing the importance of the information. Andy has been through hell and back and this information is plainly relevant and noteable. Overcomming the odds, overcomming depression, the Story of an individual transitioning from one notable area to another after overcomming impossible odds, and playing football or Notre Dame. Try not to be subjective as to whether you like the person or not. In a nuetral point of view notability can be compared to thousands of existing wikepedia articles. (1) Notre Dame football player.
Being a Notre Dame football player is notable in itself such examples as in articles-

Deletion of Stoneboats article?
Hi, why did you delete the Stoneboats article? The A7 section says that you can propose an article for deletion, not just delete it. I should at least be given a warning or some time to improve the article, not just wipe it out for ever. I find it troubling that all the content is gone from the history logs even though wikipedia has a content record of every vandalism out there. Please, ease up on the fast delete key, especially if there is no way to recover the content, mkay? I am not just some IP out there, but a user that has contributed over 100 changes in almost three years.
FYI, this restaurant has historical value, even though I failed to mention that when I created the article. That information will be added. Part of the restaurant is housed in a 1840-built stone house, which is only 6 years older than the Bronte village itself. Ninel (talk) 13:17, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

- I am not writing to object to the fact that you took this page down. I am writing to object to your discourtesy.
- I logged in a few minutes ago to take the page down, having decided that the scholar is still too young. I have had a glimpse of his next book, it is powerful and he will have his page in a year or too, when the general circulation intellectual journals have had a chance to notice the impact he is already having in the scholarly literature.
- However, would it not be more collegial to write to the person who put the page up, wait a few days, and give the author of a page a day or two to think notability over and concur that it is too early for a page to go up, or to improve the page.
- The avidity with which people take down new pages (this young man is after all, already a scholar with a notable career, albeit stil in its early stages and not noticed by the general public - this was, in other words, obviously not a vanity page) and act aggressively in other ways makes Wikipedia a very unpleasant place. this, in my opinion, is one reason why people are reluctant to participate, which, in turn, explains why the calibre of the encyclopedia is so paltry once you get beyond the experimental sciences, popular culture, and contemporary politics, which can really be very good.

Be Nice
Being nice
Throughout the entire process of NP patrol, it is important to remember not to bite the newbies. Far from being a monolithic horde of vandals, trolls, and spammers, the available evidence seems to indicate that newcomers write most of Wikipedia's content. If you see a new user or IP address contributing, {{welcome}} or {{welcome-anon}} them if you're so inclined, and include a pointer or two of feedback about how they can make their contributions even better. Most will gladly welcome the support. It is also important to assume good faith as much as possible, or, minimally to assume incompetence instead of malice. For example, remember not everyone is as computer-literate as you; some people will accidentally blank or damage pages when attempting to cut and paste material from Wikipedia. Others may not understand that, yes, their changes really are visible to the entire world.
You and your cohorts could try to be nice and ask me why I posted the information that I did, in private allowed me to give you background and supporting information (which I have) and then given me advice how to post the information correctly, instead of being nasty.

Acceptance
I am very curious. Within 15 minutes of me signing up, and adding (what I feel is very valuable) information. You just jump in and delete it. As I read thru the terms and instructions throughout Wikipedia, it speaks of discussing information. You also deleted information that was already there and accused me of doing so. Your friend Whuwuzdat sent me a threatening message. I am very disappointed in the un-professionalism and lack of disregard. You could have offered advice or information on how to reword the information to make it fit the guidelines. Instead you chose to be an unfriendly person and just deleted it. You could have been nice.
You are an unfriendly self serving individual. If you want to be helpful, do so......You could respond to my messages instead of ignoring me.Dfwaviator (talk) 23:55, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Restland Cemetery & Copyright
If you would look closely, I edited the material to make it just factual instead of advertising material. It is also fact. I can document all information posted.Dfwaviator (talk) 16:56, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Picking on Me
You must have some sort of axe to grind, or have no life. This is supposed to be open to the public. The information is factual that I posted regarding Restland Cemetery is factual. It can be found by searching the records of the Texas Funeral Service Commission. I am a licensed Mortician in the states of Arkansas and Texas and have a vast knowlege of many of the cemetery properties in both states, and would like to add that information. Stevie Ray Vaughn's aunt was recently buried at Restland, and he is Buried at Laurel Land in Dallas. That information is notable, and historic in value...I assume however that you will delete that as well. I fully intend to file a complaint against you with wiki as soon as I sift through the information and figure out how to do it. You seem to do this to many people. Restland Cemetery
Say for example, in theory....I was an employee of Stewart Enterprises (Parent Company of Restland Cemetery) and I edited the information from the website (which I did, it is not verbatim, go back and look at it.) I changed key information that appeared to be aimed in a marketing fashion and changed it to more matter of fact language, It would fit the criteria. And in theory If I were an employee of said company, I would be able to verify the information being posted as fact. In theory.
Maybe, just maybe if you would have been civil, and took a chance to talk to me, you might have learned something. Instead you chose to act before asking. I will revert the information. Go read it. Dfwaviator (talk) 20:54, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Your speedy deletion of my contribution
I'm not happy with my contribution being deleted within seconds of publishing it. It took me time to compose and submit and if you had simply left me a message about why it should state that it is unique and should be allowed on wikipedia and given me some time I would have then added that content. I was going to do so when I saw you flagged my page but now the page is gone and it appears I have lost my work with no way to retrieve it. This is not the way to get the community involved in wikipedia. Has it gotten so big the little people (who built wikipedia) no longer matter? I am clearly not a vandalizer or someone who is out to do anything but improve the body of knowledge for everyone on the internet but I feel like I've been treated as a vandalizer. There is nothing else on the web like Ajarn Wiki and it is unique in several ways so if you would only allow me a chance to add that information I think you will agree that it does have a place on wikipedia. Can you reply to my message as quickly as you deleted my contribution? --Ajarn Eric (talk) 16:14, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

The user obviously has a very high degree of silliness and would probably be headed for a block anyway, but I'm not seeing the sockery thing. The user does seem to be the IP that was trying persistently to add homosexuality to Edward Low's attributes. However this seems more like a case of an anonymous user who finally got around to getting a username, which could be taken as a positive step out of the darkness. --Dynaflow babble 16:23, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

So you told me to read the Advert rules and such regarding my addition to a few athletes pages about oneseason, the sports trading market influenced by the popularity of the players. I just want to clear this up with you to make sure I get it right. I believe the issue was I put the website name making it seem like i was advertising it, however if I link it to the sites wiki page then it is appropriate? If that is not correct please let me know what I would need to do to make it appropriate.

Thanks, I was just going to ask for help at WP:ANI. If you look at his anonymous edits, you'll see that he's been undoing quite a few of my other edits today. Do you think I'm safe in reverting those? One of them, at BossInGame, was his removing an AFD template. I don't want to run afoul of WP:3RR. Wyatt Riot (talk) 05:14, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- I see that he has been active under that IP for quite some time trying to put his game into the MMOG list. I didn't notice that. Stalking your past edits is not a good thing either. As for the removal of the AfD template, that would be vandalism, so reverting the removal would be exempt from 3RR. I reverted the removal. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:21, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Phoenix23
Hi
I am looknig for more info on band Phoenix23. They are referred to on the 50 Dead Men Walking film page, having written 3 songs in the film sound track and I am keen to find out more about the band.
When I click on the link the Phoenix23 page just refers to not having a page.
Will they be having a page?

The Wolfram Alpha Society
You deleted a reference to a new usage of the Wolfram Alpha search engine which has a facebook, meetup and web presence. I am the creator of the site and am currently in discussions with Wolfram Alpha's business development group. I believe it is a valid reference since it's concept is to take wolfram alpha's abilities and use it on a meta level. Think BING and YOUTUBE. Please advise what criteria you require to enable this post to be reinstated.
Please also confirm whether you have censored this post due to the competitive nature of such an idea with Wikipedia and fear over Wolfram Alpha becoming a "wikipedia killer." I personally think that such ideas are unfounded and if anything the wikipedia format would only be increased by such websites as mine being developed.

Efusjon deletion.
Good evening. I do not understand why the Efusjon page would be deemed not notable. It would seem that providing un-biased information for people to make a real informed decision would be useful against a potential scam.

Redmond, Washington page
Why remove the information on council candidates? This is useful information. If it's not on Wikipedia, it will be nowhere as the city doesn't have a list of candidates. And, certainly, this sort of information is in many other places on Wikipedia. I agree that the fact that Kim Allen is running for re-election doesn't belong in the list of current council members (but not because it's COI -- I don't care who put it in). - You might want to look at List of election results by country. There are lots of election results and lots of election information on Wikipedia and the information in this article is a lot less than you can find elsewhere. If you find something that you think doesn't belong in a particular article and that thing has had multiple editors over a long period of time, I would suggest taking it to the article's talk page rather than assuming all those other editors are wrong. And don't let the obvious COI edits by one candidate (clearly a new editor on Wikipedia) sway you to thinking the whole section doesn't belong. RoyLeban (talk) 23:01, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

- Points noted. I did not do the revert, though I did do some post-revert cleanup. You might want to check out this article Seattle mayoral election, 2009. If that deserves an entire article, certainly Redmond deserves a section on the upcoming election, where half of the city council will be elected. I think your argument is better for removing/pruning the results of the previous election (and note that I and others already pruned it back from what it was during and immediately after the election).
