[edit]Hello, I'm MrOllie. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Hi and thank you for your message. The current information on Dr. Carson is outdated and factually incorrect. His biography needs to be updated to reflect that he has retired from Stanford University and has started a new project. Here is the correct information: Clayborne Carson (born June 15, 1944) is an American academic and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Centennial Professor, Emeritus, at Stanford University. He served as a professor of history at Stanford University and in 1985 he became founding director of the Martin Luther King Papers Project, a long-term project to edit and publish the papers of Martin Luther King Jr. In 2006, he founded the Martin Luther King, Jr., Research and Education Institute at at Stanford University. After retiring from Stanford in 2019, he founded The World House Project to develop and disseminate educational material about civil and human rights.
- On October 19, 2023, the National Civil Rights Museum honored Dr. Clayborne Carson with the prestigious 2023 Freedom Award for his "outstanding contributions to the civil and human rights movement," along political and Civil Rights activist Stacey Abrams, and human rights advocate and attorney Kerry Kennedy. This information should also be added to Dr. Carson profile. This is Stanford University reporting the news: https://humsci.stanford.edu/feature/clayborne-carson-honored-2023-freedom-award
- Can you please help to ensure Dr. Carson's Wikipedia page is updated and factually correct? Thank you in advance for any support you may be able to provide. Giuliapdavis (talk) 21:37, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Giuliapdavis. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 21:25, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
