GDP

Could you plese stop editing the GDP of countries for a while. It looks to me like you are changing factual data to estimates. While these estimates are coming from a very good source, it is not correct to present them as the actual GDP for countries. If you agree, it would be best if you undid your changes. Thanks! Fram (talk) 11:55, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

GDP of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Hi, how did you come up with a GDP (PPP) per capita of ~7,000 for Bosnia? I can see your link, and it seems to follow through - but when I set up a new query --> http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2007/02/weodata/weorept.aspx?sy=2004&ey=2008&scsm=1&ssd=1&sort=country&ds=.&br=0&c=963&s=NGDPD%2CNGDPDPC%2CPPPGDP%2CPPPPC%2CPPPEX%2CLP&grp=0&a=&pr1.x=84&pr1.y=11 like this one, it gives an actual GDP of 9,253.371 for 2006, and then 10,714.482 as an estimate for 2008... Not sure where the different data sets are coming from..? --68.146.27.18 (talk) 16:58, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Link that you provide was updated in October 2007 and is no longer valid. Link that I provided was updated in April 2008, and it shows factual data for year 2007. Follow these steps: Click on link: http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2008/01/weodata/index.aspx. Than click on link: By Countries (country-level data), than click on link: Central and eastern Europe, than click on link Clear All, than click on cube near Bosnia and Herzegovina, than click on link CONTINUE, than click on cube near "Gross domestic product, current prices U.S. dollars" than "Gross domestic product per capita, current prices U.S. dollars", than "Gross domestic product based on purchasing-power-parity (PPP) valuation of country GDP Current international dollar", than click on link CONTINUE, choose years, click on PREPARE REPORT and voila! Gggh (talk) 17:15, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! I switched it to the 2008 data however. --68.146.27.18 (talk) 21:42, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
You need to learn how GDP (and GDP per capita) are calculated. The 2008 data is accurate because all they use is one QUARTER, and then multiply it by four. This is standard for many national and international economic statistics. --68.146.27.18 (talk) 19:57, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

GDP

Dude , please stop editing the Gdp per capita of Portugal. The IMF data is desactualized, for example, how can Portugal have a gdp per capita of 21000 dol. in 2008 when in 2005 had 20500 dl? btw, the economy is growing more than in 2005. That data is wrong. The government web site says 22500 in 2006. The estimates for 2008 are around 24000, not the ridiculous 21000. Only if portugal entered in recession, what didn't happen. So please stop. Regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by Califate123 (talkcontribs) 13:49, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

gdp

Listen, IMF data are estimates made according to the gdp growth of 0.9%(2005). Portugal since 2005 as grown more than 0,9 a year. Those are wrong estimates, and yes we portuguese believe in the statistics our gov shows, because our gov is not like yours, we aren't corrupt like u. where are u from? I bet u're from Romania or Bulgaria. PLEASE FOR THE NAME OF ALL THE PORTUGUESE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THE TRUE GDP PC IS NOT 21000 BUT 24000, STOP EDITING FOR GOD SAKE, GO EDIT YOUR'RE POOR MISERABLE CORRUPT COUNTRY INSTEAD! btw: fmi says estonia has 23000 in 2008, well but they didnt predict that estonia was going on a recession in 2008, because those estimates were made by 2005 growth rates. STOP. regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by Califate123! (talkcontribs) 16:09, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Portugal's GDP

Please, use the most recent source and update the article as you wish. I agree with your point of view, because all Wikipedia's articles on GDP per capita by country, are using the available IMF data. Licor (talk) 12:26, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Hong Kong's GDP

Wow. Seems like you're the GDP updating guru. Anyway, my comment is about the GDP in US$ terms. Since that data is only collected and distributed by the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Bureau, it seems kind of odd to cite a secondary source like the IMF. Just a thought. Uzbekistan GDP

Thanks for all your efforts to update countries' GDP with the new IMF figures. I saw you had done this for Kyrgyzstan which inspired me to do the same for Uzbekistan. Then you came and changed it. Thanks for updating the link to the new results - I forgot. But did you have to change the GDP figures themselves? I rounded them to the nearest dollar, but you rounded them all down. The difference is one dollar, and mathematically I believe my method was more correct. But thanks anyway for your contributions. Spigot007 (talk) 13:55, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Your rollback request

Hello Gggh, I have granted your account rollback in accordance with your request. Please remember that rollback is for reverting vandalism/spam, and that misuse of the tool, either by revert-warring with other users, or simply reverting edits you disagree with, can lead to it being removed. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 18:34, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for supporting me in my recent RfA, which unfortunately did not pass with a final tally of (45/39/9). Thank you for your support

Unfortunately, my RFA was closed recently with a final tally of 75½/38/10. Though it didn't succeed, I wanted to thank you for your support and I hope I can count on it in the future. Even though it didn't pass, it had a nearly 2 to 1 ratio of support and I am quite encouraged by those results. I intend to review the support, oppose, and neutral !votes and see what I can do to address those concerns that were brought up and resubmit in a few months. If you would like to assist in my betterment and/or co-nominate me in the future, please let me know on my talk page. My Lai Massacre/Mai Lai Massacre

I see you have twice reverted "Mai Lai Massacre" to "My Lai Massacre" in Ernest Medina, and warned the editor for vandalism. Both spellings can be found, but "My Lai" is by far the more common (3900 Google hits for "Mai Lai Massacre" and 102000 for "My Lai Massacre"). The Wikipedia article on it is My Lai Massacre. This is certainly not vandalism. I know from my own experience of using Huggle that it is easy to make mistakes of this sort, but care is needed! JamesBWatson (talk) 08:23, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Reverting my edit

Maybe it was because I didn't do an explanation for the first time I edited, but I don't think my change from "Mai Lai Massacre" to the more correct "My Lai Massacre" should constitute a warning. It's perfectly valid, and even though it's small, it's best to have best pronunciation, right?

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

re: Kristen Stewart

Actually, you are looking at the wrong project. The ones you've been changing in various articles is the WP:ACTOR project, which states this for the high priority criteria: "Actors and filmmakers who are well-known in the film industry, to film buffs, and others. These people can reasonably be expected to be included in any print encyclopedia." See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Actors_and_Filmmakers/Assessment#Priority_scale. Tobey Maguire, Jude Law, Jake Gyllenhaal all fit the high criteria. Nymf hideliho! 10:52, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Nomitated for deletion Elizabeth Sarah Heuschen

Dear Gggh,

Some minutes ago you placed an deletion warning on my article. Is there a reason why it was? Does the article missing information about the person? Thanks, Peekarica (talk) 22:33, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

If reliable sources cover the person only in the context of a single event, and if that person otherwise remains, or is likely to remain, a low-profile individual, we should generally avoid having an article on them. For more information see WP:BIO1E. --> Gggh talk/contribs 22:40, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. The article is actually about an passenger which would have been the last Dutch passenger aboard the Olympic in 1933. I made the article because there were never known people which boarded the Olympic. There are already many Britannic and Titanic survivors known in Wikipedia, this is also the reason why I made the article. Also still thanks for the information page, greetings Peekarica (talk) 22:45, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Josef Shultz

I see that you nominated http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Josef_Schultz for deletion on the grounds that Schultz is not a notable figure in history stating he is only established with one event. Many notable figures are known for a single event. His story is well documented in the annals of history, with a photograph of the exact moment of his heroism http://imgur.com/JSlDW Wikipedia was founded on the basis of creating a catalog of all human knowledge. I believe the story of Josef Schultz lies under that category. Are you sure your "anti-nazi" sticker on your profile is correct?

Here is over a thousand comments regarding his actions http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/f0620/photo_of_german_soldier_josef_schultz_after/

And regarding the Titanic, you choose who's story is important enough to be placed on Wikipedia? You should be ashamed.

- J —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.204.148.224 (talk) 02:06, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

It has nothing to do with being a nazi or anti-nazi. The way Wikipedia is run is dictated by quite a large number of policies and guidelines. They cover everything from the behavior expected from all editors, to whether or not something is worthy of inclusion, to the styles in which various content should be written. In this case, when an individual plays a major role in a minor event, the name of the person should redirect to the article on the incident, especially if the individual is only notable for that incident and is all that person is associated with in source coverage. For more information see WP:BIO1E. And reddit.com is not acceptable as a source per WP:SPS. --> Gggh talk/contribs 23:06, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Re: Graham Ludlow

I'm not exactly sure why you tagged Graham Ludlow with a notability template. Have you actually read the template? It says: "Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic. If notability cannot be established, the article is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted." Well, that's exactly what I am doing with the primary author and subject, both on the talk page and on the user talk page. What possible purpose could adding the tag after we are already in the process of doing this serve except for tagcruft? I think the best use of templates is to draw attention to an article. We already have that here, so the repeated tagging is not helpful, at all. Viriditas (talk) 08:10, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Because he currently lacks significant coverage in reliable third-party sources. --> Gggh talk/contribs 13:18, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
That's not exactly accurate, and we've been working in good faith to help resolve this situation, with the end result being that if we can't, the user will voluntarily submit to deletion or a redirect. Do you understand how this way of doing things differs from your own? Teaching editors how we do things is the way forward, both in terms of new editor retention and in improving the encyclopedia, and more importantly, in developing relationships and mutual understanding. Mindlessly robo-tagging helps nobody and no-thing. Viriditas (talk) 03:10, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
