Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from de:Alfons Zeileis to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. asilvering (talk) 14:39, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Theroadislong,
thank you for your comment. I took those references out.
I also understand, that in a translated article the source should be linked.
Would it be a better approach to provide only a summary of the original article?
I now worked on the citation of the newspaper articles. Would this be acceptable?
Regards

Mirrors

[edit]

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Draft:Alfon Zeileis. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Sam Kuru (talk) 19:21, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Again, you added the same mirror as a reference. Please stop; we cannot use sources that are copies of our own material. Sam Kuru (talk) 01:04, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
