Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Category:Places in Germany did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! —andrybak (talk) 18:39, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive category edits

[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Canterbury Tail talk 12:16, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I was making constructive edits by making categories involving countries by European regions. Other continents have also these kind of categories. Besides, after your remarks mentioned above I stopped making categories such as countries in Central, Northern, Western etc. Europe. Geapply (talk) 13:18, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if you feel you got your head bitten off there. After some discussions last year we deleted a lot of categories for regions of Europe, see Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2023_June_7#Category:Northwestern_European_countries, and you happened to re-create at least one that had previously been deleted, which is probably what led to the above notice.
Hope you will return, as there's always plenty that could be improved! – Fayenatic London 15:09, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Geography of Oceania by former country indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. plicit 02:32, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
