- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

RegentsPark, I read the guidelines about primary and secondary references before posting, and also the page about Promotional material. I think I am in compliance of the guidelines as my posts are objective and unbiased. However, if you can please let me know specifically why you found my edits disruptive, I will be happy to comply. In the meantime, kindly restore my edits. Thank you Gaurang damani (talk) 06:47, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- Gaurang, I have removed the links you re-added to a book apparently authored by you since, given your conflict of interest, it appears to be citation spamming. If you still believe that your work is worth citing Fifth Veda, or elsewhere on wikipedia, instead of adding the citations to the articles yourself, please discuss it on the relevant article's talkpage. And it would help if you could point to scholarly reviews of the book and specify what particular statement in the wikipedia article is being supported by what particular content in the book.
