		Happy Christmas!
		Early in A Child's Christmas in Wales the young Dylan and his friend Jim Prothero witness smoke pouring from Jim's home. After the conflagration has been extinguished Dylan writes that Nobody could have had a noisier Christmas Eve. And when the firemen turned off the hose and were standing in the wet, smoky room, Jim's Aunt, Miss. Prothero, came downstairs and peered in at them. Jim and I waited, very quietly, to hear what she would say to them. She said the right thing, always. She looked at the three tall firemen in their shining helmets, standing among the smoke and cinders and dissolving snowballs, and she said, "Would you like anything to read?" 'morning, Gareth, and a beautiful morning, too. It is unusual to see a "new" IP editing in such haste, but with in-depth knowledge of their subject and Wikipedia procedures, somewhat irritable in their rare edit summaries. It has a "prodigal son" feel about it. On the whole, their edits seem to be of benefit to WP articles on Wales; I wish, though, they would register and engage, as I fear as with other such phenomena they will burn out and disappear from whence they came, leaving us all mystified. The trouble is, many of the newer refs are not accessible as they stand, so information cannot be easily checked or refined. Of course... I might have said that, while it is not the county town, it gives its name to the modern county of Pembrokeshire (if this is true, and can be sourced?). Ireland v France has just ended, Michael. I have just switched my pc on for the first time since before yesterday's match. It was a punishing second half and certainly was "nerve-wracking"—but I can settle for 13 wins in a row as long as it's 14 next Saturday.

Guild of Copy Editors March 2019 Newsletter Hello and welcome to the March newsletter, a brief update of Guild activities since December 2018. All being well, we're planning to issue these quarterly in 2019, balancing the need to communicate widely with the avoidance of filling up talk pages. Don't forget you can unsubscribe at any time; see below. January Drive: Thanks to everyone for the splendid work in January's Backlog Elimination Drive. We removed copyedit tags from all of the articles tagged in our original target months of June, July and August 2018, and by 24 January we ran out of articles. After adding September, we finished the month with 8 target articles remaining and 842 left in the backlog. GOCE copyeditors also completed 48 requests for copyedit in January. Of the 31 people who signed up for this drive, 24 copyedited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Blitz: Thanks to everyone who participated in the February Blitz. Of the 15 people who signed up, 13 copyedited at least one article. Participants claimed 32 copyedits, including 15 requests. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Progress report: As of 23:39, 18 March 2019 (UTC), GOCE copyeditors have completed 108 requests since 1 January and the backlog stands at 851 articles. List of Duty cast issues

I do actually find that format of information quite helpful. But I would personally need it to be rather more focused on Main cast characters than what was suggested. Actually this show's cast list is so... volatile that its usage would need to be highly targeted - perhaps just a dozen or so individuals - otherwise it would get out of hand. I personally would hold fire on this type of display until after any possible move of the majority of the cast information to a secondary article. None of which has been decided on yet. My reaction to these recent proposals is to agree with you on pretty much all and I oppose moving the cast to yet another article. Always, we must consider the reader. Thanks. Based on an older counter scheme I thoughts it was will over 99,000 (and that a few years back) however based on the page you mention it is more like 89,000+. "Be bold" seems to be the ruling dictum with most of the editors I come across, however I find one persons opinion or 'good idea' is just that! one idea. The thing I like about wikipedia is that many hand make light work and generally improve things. Not always true I know. The thing that nearly always gets me is notability, one man's notable is another's "I've never heard of them". I find this whole area rather a week spot on Wikipedia. Ok, fair enough. I see your point and that my wording choice isn't clear as it makes it seem like the Pope was poisoned at the opera house. However, my point still stands, because the current text isn't correct, either as including it in the bulleted list makes it appear that the Pope's death was part of Vincent's revenge. Feel free to fix that to your satisfaction. Also, your quick reverts and crappy edit summary ("Ignorant"? Really?) aren't helpful whatsoever. I explained my intent in my edit summary, and you could have easily fixed my edit rather than reverting it twice. Then, when asked about it, you delete the question without comment. So good to hear from you as well G. Romance novels are not my usual reading fare so I was a little leery of the series to begin with. The connection to DW did spur me on to give it a try. As I progressed through the first season I got caught up in the story and the acting is excellent throughout. Later seasons have also been well done. Only a couple months to go to the World Cup that really matters :-) Many of the matches will be on in the wee hours of the morning my time so I am grateful for the DVR! Goooooo Wales!!!!
