Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Video games notable for negative reception has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bblogspot\.com' (link(s): http://gamesfurk.blogspot.com/2008/03/worst-games-of-all-time-episode-iii-pac.html) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Proposed deletion of "Best video games of all time"

The deletion of an article you created, Best video games of all time, has been proposed for the following reason:

By its nature, this article fails WP:SOAP and WP:NPOV.

You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy. You may wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thanks. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 02:17, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the featured article candidate may continue on until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Gears of War article is of reasonable quality, principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. Pe De Chinelo's edits on List of bestselling games

Hi

You were recently involved in a discussion on whether Super Smash Bros Brawl was a fighter. Despite the discussion being clearly one sided he has still made this edit more than 5 times, so I have put it on the incidents page. Your input would be appreciated, cheers. chocobogamer LOOK AT WHAT I DID 18:23, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Requests for VG Assessments

Hey there,

I noticed you've been asking for quite a bunch of assessments from the video games wikiproject lately. That's really good, because this the prime way of improving article who aren't really ready for FA yet.

Something I noticed, however, is that few articles you put up for assessment have been recently edited, and that the feedback given by the assessors is rarely used, almost never by you, and rarely by others. Usually, before asking for an assessment, an editor has made some significant changes to an article and is now stuck with editing it, and needs some guidance from the assessor on how to continue.

I thought I'd let you know this, because doing an assessment takes a lot of time and I honestly don't really like it when nothing is done with that time after making the effort. Now if you really believe an article deserves a higher rating than it currently has, just change it! Assessment doesn't need to be 'official' or via the request page. That's only if there's some kind of a dispute over a rating, or if you need feedback on your work as I described above.

If there's ever an article you have made significant contributions to and want comments to improve, drop me a note and I'll be glad to help review it, but currently I don't think that's the purpose of your requests for assessment, so I'll be dropping them for a bit if you don't mind.

Regards,

User:Krator (t c) 22:18, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

That is probably more suited for Wikipedia:Featured list candidates rather than WP:FAC. Anyways, I'm not really familiar with that list, so I can't help much. Perhaps you could get more opinions at WT:VG. Cheers. Gary King (talk) 01:51, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi, could you please use edit summaries on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/to do (and preferably other pages too) when editing it, so that we can tell what's changed just by looking at our watchlists, considering the page is a highly watched page and all? Thanks! Gary King (talk) 21:49, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey I noticed you nominated Rock Band for A-class at WPVG. Two reviewers supported it (including myself) and so I changed its talk page rating to A-class, but an admin came around and changed it back to GA, citing the A-class criteria page. I guess WikiProjects without a formal A-class review process (like ours) should go through the article's talk page instead of our project page. Also, it seems like the WPVG has had an A-class review process in the past, but it's currently not active. Should it be re-activated? — Levi van Tine (talk) 13:16, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Nintendo task force membership update

I am currently gauging the active membership of the Nintendo task force. I have split the members list into an "active list" and an "inactive list" and have moved all members (except myself) to the "inactive list". To confirm that you're still an active participant in the task force, please go to the membership list at WP:NIN and simply move your name from the "inactive list" back onto the "active list". If you no longer wish to be a member, simply remove your name from the list. After two weeks (around 23 March 2009), I will remove all names on the inactive list. Thank you, and hope you're still interested, MuZemike 20:27, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Shadow the Hedgehog (video game)

I think the "cite journal" template should be used for magazines. (put in all missing info: {{cite journal |last= |first= |authorlink= |coauthors= |year=2005|month= |title= |journal=''[[Nintendo Power]]''|volume= |issue= |pages= |id= |url= |accessdate=March 23, 2009|quote= }}) If you can find the issue, type in what the issue says and give it to me on my talk page. If not, no worries. Tezkag72 (talk) 21:25, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

The review is in the August 2005 issue. Do you own that one? Tezkag72 (talk) 19:39, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

It's "GameRankings", not "Gamerankings". Gary King (talk) 18:28, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

It should be properly capitalized. If I mention this to you once, and then you remember from now on, then isn't that a positive situation? If you were an editor that made one edit a year then I wouldn't bother, but you are an experienced editor, so I hope that reminding you about something even as small as this will have a positive outcome overall. Gary King (talk) 21:03, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm not a leader

Thanks, anyway, but no thanks. It's everyone's task force, and everyone's welcome to make improvements within the appropriate policies and guidelines. If I'm gone for a while, someone else should be easily able to step in there and do the "administrative stuff" (which isn't much besides updating the to do list, the main page, and the portal. Anyone in good faith can do that. Not trying to be condescending at all, but in a nutshell there are no leaders here, not even in WPVG for that matter. MuZemike 01:07, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, I think I'm just about finished with the article. You kind of disappeared, huh? I'm going to list it on WP:VG's assessment request page. After that it'll probably go up to GAN. — Levi van Tine (tc) 09:08, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! Also, I noticed you changed the reference for the MTV award to an About.com source. Do you think that's more reliable than Gamasutra? I just don't want to get dinged on it in any future FAC. — Levi van Tine (tc) 06:13, 7 April 2009 (UTC)\
I really think Gamasutra is the more reliable of the two. — Levi van Tine (tc) 06:28, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Go ahead and nominate the article for GAN whenever you're ready. I'll help you through the process when it gets reviewed (might take a while, there's a serious backlog). — Levi van Tine (tc) 14:44, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Don't be shy; I'll nominate it if you don't. I think it's ready. — Levi van Tine (tc) 09:17, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Alright, I'm posting it. The sooner it's up, the sooner it'll be reviewed. I'll include your name as a nominator. — Levi van Tine (tc) 11:52, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Reminder on GARs

Just a reminder that if you're reassessing Good Articles, make sure you post it on WP:VG/TD as well as on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo/to do (yes, it needs a shortcut) if it's a Nintendo-related article. We have to make sure as many relevant users know about such actions are taken. Thank you, MuZemike 06:38, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: GAR

GAR reviews are more a courtesy than anything to inform folks "this might need fixing"; individual reassessments are allowed. There are some cases where judgment calls work better, like with Nicole (talked with the main contributor) or the other article (which is something I'm pondering might be worth an outright AfD given the fact it's well researched in universe content).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 02:19, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

GARs

While I really appreciate the fact that you're trying to get the video game GA's up to scratch, could you please hold off on the Square Enix ones for a bit? Right now we have two ongoing, three that just finished, and three more that might start any day from the pre-2007 GA sweeps. There's not that many of us over here, and I'd prefer to save bad GAs, not delist them. Thanks! --PresN 17:15, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, I've only read had a chance to read through the lead and Gameplay section. I'll see about posting some comments soon, maybe tomorrow. Lara Croft tidbit

In case it gets mired in the history before you can see the edit note, undid the category add because I'm going to overhaul the high holy hell out of that article. The article The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay for things needed to be addressed. Regards, MacMedtalkstalk 23:50, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I read through the criteria and "Reviewing Guide" and noticed that is mentioned disambig pages as something to keep an eye out for, so I figured I would look for redirects too. Sorry if that is completely the wrong thing to do. Regards, MacMedtalkstalk 02:39, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry if that wasn't clear, it is right above the checklist. Just add a sentence or two summarizing the development, every section other than that is covered. Regards, MacMedtalkstalk 22:58, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
I've passed the article. Congratulations. Regards, MacMedtalkstalk 00:46, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

RE:I, Robot (arcade game)

The ones I have are book references, and I think I found them all. I'll try to add to the article this week or get you a copy of the text. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC))

I didn't get a chance to read them, but it's certainly enough for notability and probably a B-class reception section. Maybe some development tidbits too.
Also, congrats on the Riddick game article getting GA. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:13, 18 August 2009 (UTC))

Re: Mother 3

I'm on it. I hate to ask this, but could you look at the assessments for A-class that have one vote still? You're the only other person that usually does article assessments and they've been around for a damn long while at this point.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:41, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

About MissingNo., are you technically Neutral or Oppssing? Just asking because I'm unsure given how you worded the text.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:08, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

RE:Sigh

Not trying to refer to anybody at all. But you are more than welcome to take that as a compliment. :-)

I've felt that sentiment for a while now, I just never declared it for the whole Wiki to see. It stems from the work I did on Wikipedia:Featured topics/Kingdom Hearts. There was a small group of editors I worked with on the first batch of articles for the topic, and I had a lot of fun collaborating with them. But once things started going to GA and FA, we tried to adhere to standards at the resistance of adamant fans. Add in the various disputes I've been a part of at WT:VG, and it just wore me down.

So now I work on older games that are more "obscure" than the latest FPS, and I barely run into anybody when I edit. I do miss collaborating with a small group of editors though. So that's why I'm more than happy to offer my help at I, Robot (arcade game). (Guyinblack25 talk 20:23, 20 August 2009 (UTC))

Gamer- I added the remaining print sources I had yesterday. I also added some online sources at Talk:I, Robot (arcade game). The only other place I can think of to check is with User:Kung Fu Man, maybe Retro Gamer did a feature on the game or an interview with the designer. Drop me a note on my talk page after you're done with the article and would like a copy edit. (Guyinblack25 talk 22:10, 22 August 2009 (UTC))
Sorry, I thought that version was the flash one. I believe the video format can be changed to flash via an option bar directly below the video window. (Guyinblack25 talk 03:57, 23 August 2009 (UTC))
I'm not sure, I didn't do a full search for reception. I normally do google searches of the different website as WP:VG/S by using the site search option, like "site:1up.com" or "site:ign.com". I suggest you give that a try. It tends to brings up a lot of user-created content, but it finds some staff gems every now and then. Also, looking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Reference library/games TM, Miremare looks to have a magazine that could be a reference too. I suggest sending him a magazine request. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:18, 24 August 2009 (UTC))

I'll take a look through the issues (there are 55 of the things so it'll take awhile).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 16:18, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Why did you revert my edits?

The edit I made to List of commercial failures in video gaming was correct all the way. The Dreamcast was a (semi-) total failure in Japan, and was also a failure in the United States and Europe, according to some resources.--BoeingRuleOfThe9th-700 Contact Jakarta Center at 121.965 11:34, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Nintendo task force membership update

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on October 1, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, MuZemike 17:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Discography of the Soul series

I've merged the albums to Discography of the Soul series. I left the text pretty much as-is, though I wrote a quick lead, filled out/formatted the tracklists, and added in a section for the Soulcalibur 4 soundtrack. I'll fix the pointers to the articles, but you'll need to get Category:Soul series albums deleted, as it doesn't need to exist now. --PresN 20:27, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

RE:Dragon Quest

Just to clarify, do you want the missing information to ref 67 so 66 can be removed? If so here's the info.

{{cite book| title = Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2008| publisher = [[Guinness World Records]]| date = 2008-03-11| isbn = 978-1-904994-21-3| editor1-first= Craig| editor1-last= Glenday| chapter = Record-Breaking Games: Dragon Quest| page = 161}}

Looks like ref 76 can be replaced by this cite also. Written in 1995 and premiered in Japan in 1996, Koichi Sugiyama composed the music and Minoru Suzuki (not the wrestler though) choreographed the dance. It has also been performed in 97, 99, 01, and 02.

Page 160 mentions that it was also the first video game to have a live concert (Family Live Concert) in 1987 in Japan. Sugiyama conducted music from the first two DQ games. Page 160 also lists DQVI (a Japanese exclusive) as the best selling RPG on the SNES with 3.2 million units, and DQVII as the fastest-selling game in Japan with 3 million sold during its first week. (Guyinblack25 talk 03:15, 7 October 2009 (UTC))

Why did you delete the table in the Dragon Quest article?

I know you're working with the timeline, but I added a table, while not deleting the timeline, because it's easier to get the information of when the games are/were released in which region and for which console/handheld. Also it has both the official English title and the Japanese one. Also the table was used before on the article, also there is a table for the spin-off games, so why not for the main series games? So, I don't see the reason why there can't be both the timeline and the table. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GonbeFAN (talkcontribs) 20:07, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Re: Chronicles of Riddick

[3]. Fortunately, the link you provided was archived by Internet Archive. Many now-dead links may not be so lucky. Since it looks like Game Informer isn't planning on restoring their old content, I'll soon have to see what I can find for the Online print archive. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 04:29, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

  • No problem. I'll see if I can find time to copyedit the article in the next few days. I still need to do the same for User:bridies on ToeJam & Earl III, but it's a short article, so it shouldn't take long. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 04:40, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
    • Okay, I've started, and I'll be spending the next week or two on it. I'm confident that if I have that much time, I'll be able to prevent any prose-based opposition at FAC. I spent similar amounts of time copyediting MissingNo. and ToeJam & Earl, which both became featured articles soon after. At a glance, it seems that Riddick's prose will need less work than either of those, but I'll still give it my all. I'll keep you updated as I work, to ensure that I'm not screwing up references or misinterpreting lines, as often happens during copyedits. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 01:28, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
      • I'm through with my first pass on the Gameplay section. I did have a problem, though, with the line I changed to "unlike many first-person shooters, the game contains no heads-up display". The original sentence was a little hard to understand, so I might have misinterpreted it. Aside from that, a few references might have been displaced. I'll get to work on the Plot section soon. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 00:04, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
        • I've finished my first passes on Plot and Development. In Plot, the phrase "off-world penal colony" wasn't descriptive enough, so I changed it to "a penal colony built on a barren planet". You might want to change out the reference there, to one that supports the new prose. Aside from that, as with last time, references were moved around during the copyedit; you should make sure everything is cited properly. I'll work on Reception soon. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 05:12, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
          • I've completed my first pass of the article. I'll begin on my second pass either tomorrow or the next day, and then spend time on follow-up tweaks. Like I said before, there should not be any problem at FAC with the prose, once I'm finished. However, you might want to take it through peer review one last time before you go for it. The content and referencing could still use a little double-checking. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 07:04, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
            • I've done a few more tweaks, and a second pass on a couple of sections. The prose is looking good now, for the most part. I'll probably finish up within the next day or two. This sentence caused me a lot of trouble: "While in stealth mode, the player can drag bodies out of sight, move silently past enemies, and hide in shadows; a blue tint appears at the screen's edges when the player character is hidden." With that version, I think I finally got it right. However, I added the "hide in shadows" part; it was necessary to make the sentence mesh. If the reference doesn't cover it, you'll have to add another one. But since it's a major game mechanic, it shouldn't be hard to find. Anyway, once I'm done, you probably won't have much trouble passing 1a at FAC. I can't 100% guarantee how they'll react to the prose, but my aforementioned work on MissingNo and ToeJam & Earl is an indication. I strongly recommend that you do one final peer review before FAC, though. A few issues still need to be ironed out. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 08:19, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
  • (outdent) Sorry for the radio silence the last few days. Anyway, here's the archive you asked for: [4]. I can honestly say that I didn't expect any prose-related complaints; I copyedited this article the same way I did TJ&E and MissingNo. I haven't yet figured out exactly what Dave Fuchs wants me to do with the prose, but over the next few days, I'll work on alleviating any concerns he has. Quick note regarding your rating of Saw (video game)

Hello! I would just like to point out that you inserted the comment on the following user page: User_talk:GroundZ3R0_002 in the wrong order chronologically, and thus the user you contacted may not notice it as it is sitting along with lots of 2008 communication. I didn't want to move it myself in case you intended it to be where it was, but thought I would point out just in case it was a mistake. Happy editing! --Taelus (talk) 14:38, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Nothing. There have been various proposals floated around to remove the sysop bit of inactive admins, but they've never passed. Alt text

Sorry that I'm so late with this. Alt text for Vin Diesel: A bust photograph of a bald, multi-racial (Italian, African-American, et al) man in a gray suit. Turned at a 45 degree angle from the camera, he squints in the direction of an off-camera light source, which illuminates his face.

I've never written alt text for a human before, so I'm not sure how much detail is needed. This should do for now; if problems arise, I'll address them. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 17:58, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Re: Silent Hill

I cut the nurses. There's reception, but it's minimal and there's not much article if you tidy it. Pyramid Head might be another story: it's got a lot of bits of reception out there that can be compiled and could be made into an article with a heavy amount of work. To what are you referring? These are online archives of offline material; there aren't any URLs. You just fill in date, author, page number, publication etc. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 03:03, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Just look at the documentation for {{cite news}}. All the citation information necessary is in the header of each source. For example: "Sunday Herald Sun (Melbourne, Australia) August 22, 2004 Sunday Game of the week SECTION: STUFF; Pg. F02 LENGTH: 201 words" → Staff (2004-08-22). "Game of the week". Sunday Herald Sun. p. F02.. If you need more help you could ask Jappalang, Kung Fu Man or GuyinBlack; I regularly send them batch archives for their articles. RE:Your help

The semi-retirement is less about a "funk" and more about life just happening. :-p I'll still help out when I can, just not as much as I use to in the past.

In regard to the FAC, my guess is that it was closed for lack of comments/participation. Think of it as a no consensus at an AfD. I haven't read the articles since the first peer review in July, so I have no idea what article issues (if any) might exist. I'll try to take another look after the new year. Wouldn't hurt to remind me sometime next week. I can be kinda forgetful. :-\ (Guyinblack25 talk 01:38, 31 December 2009 (UTC))

re:Partnership

If it interests you, go ahead! I have the page watch-listed and can (hopefully) answer any questions you might have. Expand lead and reception, fix-up gameplay and history, take care of the WP:WEIGHT issues and write up a development section-that should be enough for GA. I say this because I really haven't done anything significant there in a while and unfortunately have no short-term intention on doing so. However, I have slowly been building up additional sources suitable for it (see under "Reception" and "Development" here:User:FullMetal Falcon/sandbox). Regards, « ₣M₣ » 23:24, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

I suggest working on F-Zero soon. November 21, 2010 is coming... « ₣M₣ » 22:41, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
I think the only thing that's left is to expand the first paragraph in reception if possible, but yeah you're right a PR should be done. « ₣M₣ » 01:15, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Some stuff brought up in the PR is not surprising, it just takes me awhile to expand reception. While I don't expect it to be as long as Halo Wars, it is still a good example if you want to take a shot at it. « ₣M₣ » 20:27, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Reading and understanding these will help to achieve FA-status: User:David Fuchs/Guide to featured writing and User:Tony1/How to improve your writing « ₣M₣ » 21:16, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
Its too soon, FAC usually has a backlog during these months. Also, its prose will need to be checked by a good copyeditor. « ₣M₣ » 22:57, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
Reception could use more work before that. « ₣M₣ » 03:27, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

GA Sweeps update

Thanks to everyone's efforts to the GA Sweeps process, we are currently over 90% done with only 226 articles remain to be swept! As always, I want to thank you for using your time to ensure the quality of the older GAs. With over 50 members participating in Sweeps, that averages out to about 4 articles per person! If each member reviews an article once a week this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. At that point, awards will be handed out to reviewers. As an added incentive, if we complete over 100 articles reviewed this month, I will donate $100 to Wikipedia Forever on behalf of all GA Sweeps participants. I hope that this incentive will help to increase our motivation for completing Sweeps while supporting Wikipedia in the process. If you have any questions about reviews or Sweeps let me know and I'll be happy to get back to you. Again, thank you for taking the time to help with the process, I appreciate your efforts! --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 00:04, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Re: Barnstar

Hey, thanks for the barnstar. Sorry to see that Riddick wasn't promoted; I think Karanacs made a mistake in failing it. The article is in good enough shape that FAC would have smoothed out the rest of its problems. As for David Fuchs' suggestion that you should address his complaints at peer review, I found several of them too vague to understand, and he didn't clarify the prose-related points when I asked him to. You might try asking him to explain his points more clearly. Anyway, if you plan on continuing your attempts to get it featured, don't hesitate to ask me for help if you need it. Hi there. It looks like you haven't come back to the review above. One of the editors User:Voceditenore hasn't been too happy with how the review has progressed, as you can see at the article's GA review page, and has raised it with the broader group of GAN editors at Wikipedia_talk:Good_article_nominations#Help_needed_at_Talk:Dido_and_Aeneas.2FGA1. Leaving that editor's disappointment aside for the moment, could you look at the review again, indicate if there are any specific points that need to be addressed in terms of the GA criteria, give other eds an opportunity to respond, then either list it as a keep or not? If you have any questions about how to finish up the process, just drop me a note at my talk page. Thanks. hamiltonstone (talk) 22:16, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Since you alone will be making the final decision, will you please now read through the article in its present state as well as the recent comments of others here and then clearly list for us the specific issues outstanding? If you want to get someone to help you list the outstanding issues clearly, that's fine by me, but they have to be listed and accepted by you as the criteria you are going to use. I am also requesting that you give us at least one week after you have listed the issues to work on them. In light of your lack of active participation and communication in this review up to now, I think this is only fair to those of us who will now be working on the article.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could respond to this request on the review page as soon as possible. Several of us are now working on the article now. Please also keep the page on your watchlist so that you respond to further comments and queries in a timely fashion. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 17:44, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Re: Google books

Hi, I do not quite understand the question you posed to me. If you have read the works provided through Google, then you should be able to use their information to help elaborate the article and make it comprehensive. As pointed out in the FAC, there are details in these works that are missing from the article (unless their exclusion can be justified). Jappalang (talk) 01:46, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Dragon Quest

As the table has now been migrated to the List of Dragon Quest media page it is probably fairly close to going up for FAC if you still want to do a join porposal. However, due to the 1 FAC nom at a time, i'll have to wait until my School Rumble FAC clears. If you want to wait, in the meantime you can check it over for any missing refs, poor prose or bad refs.Jinnai 20:08, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Possibly because SR has been on the list since Christmas Eve.Jinnai 20:18, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Probably. Given the rate of speed the FACs are going my proposal might be up there till February sometime as I still haven't gotten an oppose/support. Not sure about yours.Jinnai 03:50, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
If the copyedit is done and your FAC is either closed/has enough to pass (so you don't violate the rule of 1 in FAC), then yes. Since my proposal for School Rumble failed and after discussion i've brought it back to a PR before nominating it again.Jinnai 00:57, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Re:A Proposition

Hi, Gamer. Sorry, but I do not believe I've ever seen the show (I saw a commercial once, but that was it). Still, though, if you plan on making episode articles, I'll be happy to help you if you seek any assistance on setup, research, etc., so feel free to drop me a message if you need some help. Cheers and good luck, The Flash {talk} 01:38, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, sure, I'll review it after I take care of some concerns on my current FAC. The Flash {talk} 01:48, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Here's a New York Times review on the pilot, while Here and here are Google Searches that contain an assortment of reviews. The NYT article also mentions that ever episode is written and directed by the creator, which is always helpful info to have sourced. Hope those help, The Flash {talk} 00:50, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
That also sounds like a fine plane. Episode lists are usually easier to make them episode pages; have you considered making specific season pages? You could get an FT going with that if you get both seasons and the episode list to FL status. The Flash {talk} 02:18, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
No prob. And like I said on the FAC, just elaborate more in the rationale on what kind of gameplay it helps illustrate. The Flash {talk} 04:02, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

RE: Street Fighter IV

Thank you for pointing out my error. But I'm not sure that I nominated correctly. If you could point out if I did it incorrectly under the section on the GAN page. BTW, I get that a lot with my online name. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 02:00, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Since I am not exactly an editor of the Street Fighter IV article (I don't even own the game), I would like some help when it gets its review because the article appears very well done, it just needed the nom. And if you are offering your services for other articles, I would like some help on the Mortal Kombat article, as I have some sandboxes with useful information, such as comparisons with Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat(many articles over the internet have compared them both) or protests by Christian groups, but I do not have any idea where to start when placing them into the article. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 02:11, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

You're a Street Fighter fan correct?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you are Street Fighter fan so you must contributed a bit to the articles. Well, I've begun undertaking an article that compares and lists references in third party material to the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter "feud" for lack of a better term. I was wondering if you could help me move it along because I only have articles that mention mainly Mortal Kombat, and no Street Fighter articles from third parties. My sandbox is here and the discussion page has links and excerpts/complete text of the articles.

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Subzerosmokerain/Mortal_Kombat_and_Street_Fighter

I hope you can help me with what I believe to be a great collaboration. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 02:23, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

I'm not really sure, to tell the truth. I think it depends greatly on whether or not this is really all the content there is. I'm leaning towards a list, just because of the small and relatively-undescribed species.

Hello, GamerPro64. I was wondering if you could give some suggestions for improving this article. At its heart, it's always going to be something of a list, because it breaks down most logically into species-specific sections, unlike the similar Species of Allosaurus where the numerous dubious and reassigned species permit grouping into larger sections. J. Spencer (talk) 02:02, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Sure thing! When you're ready, can you post them to the article's talk page? J. Spencer (talk) 01:28, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! J. Spencer (talk) 01:51, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Both, actually (which is why I requested that they be posted on the talk page). I'm not around WP as much as I used to be (usually 15-30 minute blocks), so I figured it would do the article more good to have suggestions there instead of on my talk page, in case it's days or weeks until I sit down to serious work. Also, I wasn't involved in the original creation of the article, so if any of the original contributors are still around and are interested, they'd be more likely to see it there. J. February GA Sweeps update

Progress as of January 2010

Thanks to everyone's efforts to the GA Sweeps process, we are currently over 95% done with around 130 articles left to be swept! Currently there are over 50 members participating in Sweeps, that averages out to about 3 articles per person! If each member reviews an article once a week this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. At that point, awards will be handed out to reviewers. Per my message last month, although we did not review 100 articles last month, I still made a donation of $90 (we had 90 reviews completed/initiated) to Wikipedia Forever on behalf of all GA Sweeps reviewers. I would like to thank everyone's efforts for last month, and ask for additional effort this month so we can be finished. I know you have to be sick of seeing these updates (as well as Sweeps itself) by now, so please do consider reviewing a few articles if you haven't reviewed in a while. If you have any questions about reviews or Sweeps let me know and I'll be happy to get back to you. Hey Gamer

Yes I know they are sitting open. A couple are too good to fail LEOPARD syndrome and Influenza A virus subtype H5N1 and IMO not good enough to pass. I have been working on them a bit but no one else seems interested. Another IMO should be failed but the editor who works on it has asked for a second opinion. If you could provide an opinion at Good Samaritan law it would be appreciated. Also Self-harm I think is almost there. It has been changed to a community assessment, I have edited the page thus will hold from further comments. Cheers Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:17, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Character class GA

Basically retired, though I occasionally look around. That article will have to slide. I no longer think such an article is worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia, let alone GA. — Deckiller 19:54, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Last time I attempted to rejoin the site, I grew frustrated that WikiProjects were nominating their own articles for GA/FA reviews instead of fixing the obvious problems themselves. That sort of tomfoolery is a major strain on the system; such matters should be isolated to WikiProjects, unless an outside editor has an issue or the Wikiproject is inactive. It was this giant fad last year or something. — Deckiller 20:12, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Hey, sorry I didn't get back to you earlier; my home computer is shot, and I'm using the school's computer lab. My apologies if I seemed somewhat aggressive/pessimistic the other day; Wikipedia has changed a lot, and sometimes it takes a bit of time to adapt to the change. By the way, I wouldn't mind participating in an interview — whenever you have a slot available. — Deckiller 16:22, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

I saw some of your review work. Nice job — it's definitely important to have people providing outside feedback. As far as another GA/FA push in the short-term, I'm not sure. — Deckiller 16:25, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
