Hi there! Thanks for the welcome. I'm new here and am just trying to learn the ropes, starting mostly with basic copyediting. Hopefully, I can expand to write and format sections/pages. I hope my changes so far are okay. Frank Thistle (talk) 17:34, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Arsene Wenger's Early life.

[edit]

Hello, Arsene Wenger's Early Life seems to have an inaccuracy in his date of birth and the year on the Eastern front. Could you please take a look and clarify where possible. It states that he was born in October '49 and was sent to fight in October '44;Five years before he was born. 41.210.143.13 (talk) 04:56, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for getting in touch. I've just had a look. I think the passage you mention is referring to his father, Alphonse. This bit:
"Arsène's father, Alphonse, like many Alsatians, was conscripted into the German Army by force following Germany's earlier annexation of the French region of Alsace-Lorraine. He was sent to fight on the Eastern Front in October 1944, at the age of 24." Frank Thistle (talk) 09:43, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
