[edit]Welcome!
Hello, FlowerMoon593, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that some of your recent edits show an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that ...
- ...Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- ...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- ...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- ...freely-licensed images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images where they can be used on all Wikipedia projects?
- ...we recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process – at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Please help me with... Hi, I am currently drafting a page, Holy Coves, I have been granted permission by the owner to use any images of his freely but I am struggling to make sure they meet all the criteria for uploading onto Wikipedia. Could you advise please in lamens terms :/ ha! Thankyou in advance! FlowerMoon593 (talk) 08:14, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. I would say though that the most important thing right now is not to upload their images, but to establish the band's notability, because without it the draft won't be accepted, and the images would be useless. It would be better to upload the images once the draft gets accepted. Kleinpecan (talk) 08:40, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi Kleinpecan, Thankyou for your help, I will direct my focus on the actual draft :) Much appreciated. FlowerMoon593 (talk) 11:27, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I am currently working on a draft, how do i save the draft inbetween adding new content so I dont lose the work I have already done please? ThankyouFlowerMoon593 (talk) 08:13, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- You should click "publish changes", which should be understood to simply mean "save changes". It does not mean "publish this to the encyclopedia". When ready, you may submit your draft using Articles for Creation. 331dot (talk) 09:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Please help me with... Hi, I am currently creating draft:Holy Coves, I am still struggling with notability and references. I was directed to other poorly drafted articles exist with no other explanation and feel this does not really help with what I was asking. other poorly drafted articles exist is not Wikipedia policy. I was not saying that the band I had written a draft about was 'more famous' than other bands on Wikipedia, I was simply stating that I felt I had enough coverage in comparison to some that have little to zero! I am aware that Wikipedia recognises that it suffers from systemic bias :( and also other poorly drafted articles exist is not an essay that can be 'hurled against anyone you disagree with'. I would appreciate fresh eyes to look over my draft please if possible. I am very excited and keen to join and edit/write articles for Wikipedia, especially on topics that are of interest to me and feel will be of interest to others. I warmly welcome any constructive criticisms :) Thankyou FlowerMoon593 (talk) 14:15, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
- The band does not see to pass WP:NBAND, most of the references are not showing that it meets that criteria. The band needs to be covered in reliable third party sources that cover the band in detail and must meet the criteria of WP:NBAND also. You need to show with sources that the band meets one of those criteria listed in that article in order for the article to be accepted. CodeLyokotalk 16:19, 11 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi thankyou for reviewing my submission, I'm at a loss as it has been rejected for the same thing despite me finding newspaper articles, reviews, BBC radio plays - Are they not reliable, independent sources? I was advised the other day that some are suitable and some are not, would removing the references more likely to 'harm the article' help with submission? Many thanks FlowerMoon593 (talk) 15:02, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Neil Crud
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Neil Crud requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — Smjg (talk) 16:40, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Devonian Wombat Thankyou for reviewing my draft Draft:Spike T. Smith He is a famous session drummer and has freelanced for many huge bands all over the world. If you search up said bands on Wikipedia he is names across them all. How do I successfully move this article into mainspace seeing as he is named many times on other articles. is that notable enough? If not could you please advise. Many thanks FlowerMoon593 (talk) 16:22, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Notability is demonstrated by significant coverage in independent, reliable sources. This refers to things like newspapers and magazines, though it's important to note that interviews do not count. In order to show notability for the person as opposed to the bands they were in you'll need those sorts of sources talking about Smith at some length, preferably two paragraphs or more. Devonian Wombat (talk) 21:48, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
Devonian Wombat Thankyou so much for your message, that has really helped me to understand what I need to be looking for and adding as references. I have been working on a draft also for Scott Marsden and would it be ok for me to ask you to check out a reference I might have for the draft please? It has got an interview but it's after the article.

The article Neil Crud has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. 331dot (talk) 13:55, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
Hi I am currently working on this article draft. I have found references I need to insert. Please dont delete. Thankyou FlowerMoon593 (talk) 13:57, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
Hi I 331dot I asked if it was possible for the article Neil Crud to be considered as a article to be improved instead of being deleted but did not get a reply...not sure where I wrote this message. it wasnt to yourself but I have noticed that the article still got deleted. Thanks FlowerMoon593 (talk) 14:08, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- You are free to create a new draft, if you have suddenly found multiple, reliable independent sources, but this seems unlikely. Theroadislong (talk) 14:17, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- I did not get such a message. Articles about living people must have at least one independent reliable source to support their content in order to avoid being deleted. Unsourced articles about living people(or recently deceased) are not permitted; this is a hard, non negotiable requirement. If you need time to work on an article, you should create it as a draft using WP:AFC. 331dot (talk) 16:19, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- The message was posted here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Neil Crud (2nd nomination) the article was deleted a second time. Theroadislong (talk) 16:46, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

Reliable sources
[edit]Please read WP:RS The Neil crud article has zero reliable sources so far and you have just added another, blogs are VERY rarely considered reliable. Theroadislong (talk) 16:51, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
Theroadislong I appreciate what I am being told that my references are not notable, but what I would really appreciate is instead of being told the same thing over and over is if someone could please help me find notable references? or guide me please? Also, I know I dont get to choose who takes a look at what Im doing but I just felt you instantly jump on everything and just end it. I did a draft once for the band Holy Coves, had someone on Wikipedia look at it and they said I had notable references and yet it still got rejected. So I feel at a loss here :( FlowerMoon593 (talk) 19:30, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- No, you "dont get to choose who takes a look at what Im doing" - it's Wikipedia, which means everyone gets a look and can edit. And if you create an article, it is YOUR job to provide it with reliable sources. If you can't, don't create it . Emeraude (talk) 20:51, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
