My complaint about Lamb Lies Down is that the entire plot summary section is a subjective fan interpretation. Nowhere has anyone explained the story, it means what it says in the lyrics and NOTHING MORE. 69.244.41.185 (talk) 23:50, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

I deleted a source that had nothing to do with Hoobastank using a post-grunge and a nu metal sound. The source refer to a website called The Acorn and had nothing to do with Hoobastank's music, is that okay? ( Strangeguy91 (talk) 20:01, 17 September 2017 (UTC) )

Minimum archiving limit via Lowercase sigmabot III
Hey @FlightTime:
I'm here regarding the "minthreadsleft" variable for Talk: Kathy Griffin. I totally accept that the guidance is an example, not a rule. But I feel there should be some "minimum number of threads that should be left on a page (to prevent pages from getting completely harvested)." I think he purpose of archiving a page is primarily to limit its size to a manageable length, rather than just removing everything considered old.
I accept that 4 threads is totally arbitrary limit, what do you think the limit should be? 3? 5? etc. Greg (talk) 23:49, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Greggydude: Why ? Why do you feel a talk page cannot be empty of inactive discussions, is it like wall paper ? does the page seem naked without some sections with words ? - FlightTime (open channel) 00:00, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Greggydude: I've changed it to 2, I'm not trying to be rude or something, it's just I don't understand why no discussions on a talk page is an issue. - FlightTime (open channel) 00:14, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
- Haha, no worries, I don't think you're rude! I think for more experienced users, such as yourself, it makes no practical difference at all to see a barren talk page, particularly if there is an archive page you can look at. However, for newer users (who may not even know what archive pages are, let alone how to access them) I think it makes all the difference. Why? Because it's much easier to join the crowd than it is to make the leap for (what they believe to be) the first time. My 2₵ Greg (talk) 00:46, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Greggydude: Understood, thank you - FlightTime (open channel) 01:02, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

Selfish Machines
No problem. If you want consensus, I'll start the consensus making, then. So what do you think about my edits? Is there any issue you have with them which make the article worse than before? Personally, I have been told to move references from the infobox to the body when possible, which is what I was attempting to do. On the other hand, I just thought the writing change would be convenient. 104.39.214.203 (talk) 20:28, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, if all you were doing was properly moving references to support the same genre's in the body then go for it, your edit summaries were not very clear, my concern was any further changes to genres in the infobox without consensus. - FlightTime (open channel) 21:10, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- Well, you see, what I was doing was being a little lazy and allowing AnomieBot to rescue the orphaned refs. '^^ I suppose I can do it the long way. What about the writer changes? Are those okay? 104.39.214.203 (talk) 21:19, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

Just a heads up on that user Fire.catcher -- he's a sockpuppet who has over 10 socks. I will be reporting him and he will be blocked in due time, but he is a repeat offender of the Simple Minds, Altan (band), and Malicorne (band) pages. Jethro Tull broke up when Martin Barre left the band. Ian Anderson has toured as Ian Anderson since 2012. There is a setlist site here:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlists/jethro-tull-3d6b523.html
As you can see, the last setlist for Jethro Tull was July 31, 2012. Ian Anderson setlists begin after that:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlists/ian-anderson-1bd69578.html
Other references for you: https://www.songkick.com/artists/111953-jethro-tull
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/apr/15/ian-anderson-end-of-jethro-tull Ian Anderson has called an end to Jethro Tull, announcing that from here on out he will record and tour exclusively under his own name. After half a century and almost two dozen albums, Anderson said he is ready for Jethro Tull to live on as "the vast body of [its] repertoire".
Ian Anderson has never stated that the band is reforming, only that there will be a 50th anniversary to celebrate the music of Jethro Tull. Stating that the band has reformed is misleading. They have not. The confusion stems from the fact that Ian uses "Jethro Tull" in naming his tours such as "Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson" or "The Best of Jethro Tull". He does this because of the name recognition and to help sell tickets. He is entitled to do this; after there would never have been a "Jethro Tull" without Ian Anderson. Unless Ian gets together with Martin Barre, there will not be a reformation. The current band is Ian Anderson's band, not Jethro Tull, and has been since 2012, though two of them, O'Hara and Goodier, did play in the last incarnation of Tull.

While I appreciate you doing your due diligence in reviewing edits, unfortunately, some of the information I have provided is not well-documented (and thus, difficult or impossible to cite). My corrections were not expand on the topic, and more importantly, correct a number of erroneous claims on the page. In 1974, Gibson released the 20th anniversary Les Paul Custom in a white, black, cherry sunburst and honey sunburst finish (at least these four colors were made) with "20th Anniversary" engraved on the 15th fret block inlay. This is a half truth. These were the only four colors offered on this model, officially or otherwise. From 1979 to 1982(83?) Gibson made a limited edition of 75 worldwide LP custom in the Silverburst colour with 2 "Tim shaw Burstbuckers." This is not correct. While Gibson does not release production numbers on most of their instruments, there are a number of things that do support that this is a falsehood. First, Silverburst was merely a color option, and can be found as an option in catalogs from 1979 - 1985. There is no data to support that the numbers were even close to that limited. The color was reintroduced in the late 2000s. Second, Tim Shaw was a Gibson employee who happened to design the humbuckers Gibson transitioned into using during this period (T-Tops were used until around 1980 and I believe the PAF wiki actually covers that). They are not unique to any one guitar. Third, Burstbuckers are a type of pickup Gibson began to offer in various forms in the early 2000s, not in the 1970s or 1980s. The Gibson guitars in from 2000–2003 were specially made on the requirements of the client on what kind of wood on the fret board, types of wood for neck and body, type of hardware and some models were also rounded of deeply on the request for specific number of coil turns in the pickups as well. Type of logo designs and hard cases were also manufactured on the request of the customer. These special custom series came up with specific serial numbers which were encrypted with Custom's CS and small, more compact serial number CS XXXXX The first two numbers represent on which number this specific model was built, next two represent the year they were made in and the last numeric value represents the month of formation There are multiple issues with this. First, production of the normal Les Paul Custom did not move to the Custom Shop until 2004. The custom Les Pauls referenced here are customer one-offs, and not at all to do with the topic in question (Les Paul Custom model vs. custom Les Paul orders). Second, the serial numbers were not 'encrypted.' Gibson did offer a chip embedded in the instrument, but I cannot recall the period it was available. As for the numbering, the number was CS YNNNNN, where CS is Custom Shop, Y = Year, and NNNNN is the guitar's build sequence number for that year. I understand the concern with my edits and I'll start digging to find verifiable sources (rare though they may be) to cite, however I would also like to request that the erroneous information currently present be removed as well. |

"Edit war"
No one else is objecting and he said that he's going to leave it be, so what is the dispute exactly? Why do you want this to contradict the infobox? ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 18:02, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Koavf: Unless you can point to a guideline that supports your changes, I'd like to see some consensus on how this should be done. Why do you think Frey is still listed first on {{Eagles}} ? Don't you think a discussion is warranted to resolve this ? - FlightTime (open channel) 18:10, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- Because--as I pointed out there and it my edit summary--that's a bad that is broken up, so all of them are on the same line. He is first because he was a founding member of the band and "f" comes before "h", "l", and "m" in the alphabet. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 18:13, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

There is no "occasional bass" credit for Robert Plant on the first Led Zeppelin album. This is a verifiable fact that one can confirm many ways, including by visiting https://www.discogs.com/Led-Zeppelin-Led-Zeppelin/master/4126 and looking at several hundred packaging scans for the first album. Plant's recollection in 2005, 36 years after the album came out, is incorrect but easily explainable. A simple google search -- https://www.google.com/search?q=%22occasional+bass%22+%22led+zeppelin%22 -- shows that every reference to "occasional bass" in the context of Led Zeppelin leads back to either 1) the 1969 press release or 2) the Robert Plant interview. Your changes yesterday restored an obvious error. I don't have a wikipedia account and wanted to fix this obvious error. 38.100.128.2 (talk) 14:42, 11 October 2017 (UTC) 38.100.128.2 (talk) 14:29, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
- This is exactly what you should of included with your edit, see Help:Referencing for beginners and Wikipedia:Verifiability. We as editors create and maintain articles for our readers, tell me, how does a reader who does not have the album cover verify the information in that (or any) section is correct ? Do you really except 10 year old Jimmy to navigate to another website or search to verify the information, do you think a good Encyclopedia would last if they except their readers to go elsewhere to verify the information ? that's completely against the point of having an Encyclopedia in the first place. Our guideline here PROVE IT that if you want to add information to the project, the onus is yours not the readers or patrolling editors. Also, discogs.com is not considered a reliable reference. - FlightTime (open channel) 16:06, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Pauley Perrette IS a United Methodist
You threatened to block me for "unsourced material" on Pauley Perrette. Said "unsourced material was replacing category "American Methodists" with "American United Methodists". Here is a line from the article: "She is a member of the Hollywood United Methodist Church." The source following this sentence is from the United Methodist Church. So how is this unsourced? You provided no explanation and threatened to block me. Perhaps you should have read the article before a knee-jerk rollback. Jgefd (talk) 16:49, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

There is absolutely no mention (in canon) of William Riker being born in Valdez, AK. I'm not sure what underhanded reason you could have with wanting to spread that lie, but we're on to you. Calling space a "void" is not accurate. My edit is founded and sound because space is an expanse that allows energy to travel. A void is nothing (like "null & void"). Space is far from "void", that is ignorant to say and believe, as well as insulting to space. It is far from nothing and that is why I edited. Now if you will allow the public to actually edit, maybe your website wouldn't always be begging for donations and people would feel more inclined to do so. Thank you for your message referencing Wikipedia’s preference for regional habits of grammar; I was unaware!
I don’t pretend to be a pedantic grammarian but I’m home sick and amusing myself. So, I would like to offer support, then, to the argument for a single, universal standard pertaining strictly to s/v agreement and pronoun usage regarding assemblies of people into groups.
While regional variances of language are invaluable in accents, figures of speech and expressing sentiments in unique ways, some rules of grammar and language should be upheld where they support proper concepts of all things to do with human beings.
While it can be accepted in some places to consider a group (be it band, team, corporation, city or nation state and race) as an entity rather than a collection of people, it has a dilutive effect that can dehumanize thought and reality as that concept presumes monolithic behavior. That is, referring to Motley Crue as an ‘it’ rather than ‘they’. Similarly, when victims of homicide are said to have been ‘killed’ rather than ‘murdered’—it’s not just an injustice to grammar but a miscarriage of how human events are regarded.
Where best to advance this within the digital realm of Wikipedia?
Thanks!

I have been creating and editing Wiki Infoboxes and article information for some time and have never received a message like this before. I was wondering what you mean by disruptive editing. I'm only trying to improve the information and formatting of each article I edit. If I've caused any problems in my edits I would at least like to know what I did wrong to avoid future trouble and being blocked by Wikipedia. Thanks. I am very disappointed that you have edited out my additions. QR Rail Fail is a very significant matter. To simply revert to the old page is to deny the truth. Hiromi kirishima (talk) 23:42, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

Elvis Presley
Hello!
I noticed you added non-free content tags to Elvis Presley but it looks like the links in question are copied from Wikipedia; not the other way round.
Thanks,

Well, I forgot to add more information about Grant Imahara. But we all know that Imahara was a Japanese name. His parents are Japanese, I forgot to add source link about him. it was all my fault. ScrewsHirsch (talk) 16:17, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm an art historician specialized on popular music, the changes that i've put are result of the study that we do a group of specialists on the University of Barcelona and try to fit better the different styles present on the albums of Metallica. We think that add specific subgenres gives a more detailed vision of what the listener can find inside of the album. For example, St. Anger doesn't respond to the normal canon of heavy metal, and is more related to the sound of the Nu Metal of the late 90's and early 2000's. Sorry for my mistakes writing english, but I think that our idea is fair. 95.120.224.238 (talk) 20:19, 24 November 2017 (UTC)
- Regardless, we have rules here and changes to music genre's require discussion to seek consensus and reliable sources beforehand. - FlightTime (open channel) 20:25, 24 November 2017 (UTC)

ANI Experiences survey
Beginning on November 28, 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) will be conducting a survey to en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.
The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:
If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

Hello. I know more about the band Heart than you and have personal relationships with several of the band members. The edits I have made were minor and were absolutely accurate. I have no idea what your level of knowledge is, but your continuation of deleting accurate information about this band is disturbing, especially information that has been part of their profile for years until your ill-advised edits.
- Nobody gives a shit. Personal knowledge is not acceptable on Wikipedia. - FlightTime (open channel) 18:56, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
I was using a valid citation. I'm going to send Jimmy a copy of this response and will not donate another dime to Wiki. I've donated almost $3000 the past five years and I can guarantee your language is not what he had in mind when creating Wikipedia. (And I have a screen shot so don't try to delete it).

I suggest you post a similar message on the article's talk page, a user who regularly watches that page would be able to help, you could post an edit request which should get you a faster reply. - Hmmm... parameters says, "Works" is intended to link to a list article for a larger body of work, not all of which may be individually notable. I don't really see this as a misuse of the parameter, at least in the case of the Travolta item linking to a filmography. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:40, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

I don't understand why you keep removing the category of albums recorded at Morgan Sound Studios and reverting these edits, because I only add it if the album in question has in fact been recorded there.

Linda McCartney's first marriage
You reverted an edit in error, which states that when Linda's mother died in 1962, she was newly divorced from Joseph Melville See, but that is impossible for it to be so, because they married after Linda's mother died, had Heather in either 1962 or 1963 and didn't divorce until 1965

Please don't revert my edits for Ace Kefford, because the article is indeed too short and "Save the Life of My Child" was indeed originally by Simon and Garfunkel.
