Can you explain why the article "University of Petra" is an advertisement/promotion article?

Deaths in 2024, and baseline notability

[edit]

Hi. I've noticed over the past few days that a large number of your additions (almost always redlinks) are being removed by others due to the lack of baseline notability of the persons reported as dying. I would like to suggest that you become a little more selective and thoughtful about their aspects of notability before adding them. An obituary reporting someone, often of a young age, with a decent professional qualification or occupation does not necessarily mean that that person would likely have a Wikipedia article written about them. Assessing their likelihood for an article is key in deciding whether they have a baseline notability, i.e. a starting point in terms of notability. Flooding the article with untenable redlinks is not something that can be maintained in the long-term, I have to say. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 20:48, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You continue to add non-notable redlinked deceased to the list, and I detect some discord among regular editors there as to this practice. I would again ask that you become very selective in your choice of additions to the list, as many entries are routinely being removed as non-notable without significant internet coverage. Thank you. Thanks again for engaging at the Deaths in 2024 talk page. Ref (chew)(do) 21:46, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have responded to one of your enquiries in a section at the Deaths in 2024 talk page. Ref (chew)(do) 14:32, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much FerasWebsite (talk) 15:51, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, when you add people to the Deaths in 2024 page, please note that they should be in alphabetical order under each day. Thank you. --Marbe166 (talk) 08:53, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I will be more diligent next time FerasWebsite (talk) 22:03, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Daily Mail

[edit]

Hi Feras. You added a source on Deaths in 2024 which came from the Daily Mail. Unfortunately, the Daily Mail is deprecated, which means that you should almost never use the source except for exceptional circumstances. In the future, you can check this list considered reliable and unreliable for use on Wikipedia. I hope you have a great day. TheWikiToby (talk) 00:41, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for letting me know. FerasWebsite (talk) 00:45, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to actually link the list lol. Ima add it in a second. TheWikiToby (talk) 00:48, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
