Welcome Faster328!
Hello Faster328. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Ad Orientem, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  Editing tutorial
  How to edit a page
  Simplified Manual of Style
  The basics of Wikicode
  How to develop an article
  How to create an article
  Help pages
  What Wikipedia is not
Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{Help me}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, Ad Orientem (talk(Leave me a message) 02:08, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia: check out the Teahouse!

Teahouse logo
Hello! Faster328, you are invited to the Teahouse, a forum on Wikipedia for new editors to ask questions about editing Wikipedia, and get support from peers and experienced editors. Please join us! Liz Read! Talk! 00:44, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Faster328,
You have been editing Wikipedia for a week. Other editors have been editing the project for decades and amassed hundreds of thousands of edits. You can not ask other editors to write articles you want written or help you write articles. Well, you can but it's unlikely that you will have successs. Editing Wikipedia is a volunteer hobby and most editors spend their time working on articles about their own interests and have plenty of things on their "to do" list.
If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia or its policies and practices, bring them to the Teahouse. If you want to discuss improving our articles on mathematics, I suggest you inquire at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics. It is unlikely that anyone will see messages that you post to your own talk page because no one will have the page on their Watchlist.
Your enthusiasm is welcome but remember it takes time to learn how to do so appropriately on Wikipedia as you are an inexperienced editor. Go slowly, don't make any drastic changes or you most likely be reverted. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 00:52, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you find your edits often reverted, which seems to be the case, do not persist. Look at what other experienced editors are telling you and take it as an opportunity to learn and read over their edit summaries. If you disagree, start a discussion on the article talk page. You don't want to get into an edit war which can easily lead to a loss of editing privileges. Take care. Liz Read! Talk! 00:55, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Faster328. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 19:53, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This account is globally locked. 218.212.76.59 (talk) 09:26, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am creating a secondary 2^n, 2^2^n and 2^2^2^n article for the power of 2

[edit]

Hello! I am creating a secondary article containing cycles of the last digits of the numbers being convergent and values(for the interested) See Draft:2^n, 2^2^n, 2^2^2^n which I am creating. You guys can help me add reliable sources and descriptions for the article. Faster328 (talk) 01:37, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

XOR'easter, can you help me complete my draft article so that it meets the requirements for article creation

[edit]

I have been struggling to clean up paragraphs. Can you help me? And please do not delete the piles of calculations. But use the calculations as proof for various mathematical theories. Use the teahouse or the talk page to discuss improvements to the content page. Link: Draft:2^n, 2^2^n, 2^2^2^n (made by Faster328) Faster328 (talk) 06:12, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock/unlock request for Faster328

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Root reason for block: Not enough competence. I tried to do what experienced editors wanted me to do but my interest in adding precise values took over me. My main Faster328 account is now on Wikidata. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I will learn from experienced editors.

Many handling admins said: As you still have access to your talk page, and as there is no private information associated with your appeal, please post your unblock request to your user talk page for administrator review. You can follow the guide at https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Guide_to_appealing_blocks.

But I do not prefer to appeal using my IP's talk page, so I will use this site for my appeal.

Decline reason:

You must first get the global lock removed before we can consider any unblock request from you. You must contact a Steward to do that. 331dot (talk) 09:15, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ticket#2023042410000083 is my unlock ticket. 218.212.76.59 (talk) 09:21, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I want to unblock and unlock my account, Faster328, in Wikipedia.

My reason is:

Root reason for block: Not enough competence. I tried to do what experienced editors wanted me to do but my interest in adding precise values took over me. My main Faster328 account is now on Wikidata. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I will learn from experienced editors.

Due to my cross-account contributions to Wikimedia projects, I am a beginner learning how to use an account. I often use one account more than the other account on each of my devices. I created two accounts for both devices. If one of my accounts is compromised, I will use the other account made for the same device, to maintain extra security. But I already have strong passwords (as for now). In the far future, black hat hackers could easily use the accounts and to crack strong passwords instantly, for money. Passwords containing more characters are stronger.

JJMC89 said: I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that either the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or that the block is no longer necessary because you understand what you have been blocked for, will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and will make useful contributions instead. Please read https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Guide_to_appealing_blocks for more information.

If the sock-puppet accounts are inactive for more than 6 months, the socks would been merged with the main account for each device.

All future cases of sockpuppet investigations and reports involving the 4 accounts should be merged to case with sockmaster Python303, and filed with sock-master's name equals to Python303, respectively.

What I most likely violated was: An editor using multiple accounts for valid reasons should, on each account's user page, list all the other accounts with an explanation of their purpose. Optionally, the user and user talk pages of some of the accounts can be redirected to those of another. Editors who use unlinked alternative accounts, or who edit as an IP address editor separate from their account, should carefully avoid any crossover on articles or topics because even innocuous activities such as copy editing, wikifying, or linking might be considered sockpuppetry in some cases and innocuous intentions will not usually serve as an excuse.

This might have been led to admin David Eppstein on the English Wikipedia filing a sockpuppet investigation with sockmaster Faster328. I didn't realise there was a sockpuppet investigation involving Faster328 and Numbers-Mathworld, until I was blocked form editing the English Wikipedia. What David Eppstein was trying to do was to was to delete the article Power of five (exponentiation) because it was created by an unlinked sock account of Faster328. I'd preferred to put my account base in the page User:Python303. The community thinks that I most likely violated a crossover in topic using multiple accounts.

Sorry for the incovienence I caused to admin David Eppstein on the English Wikipedia.

After all that, I will link the accounts in an account base in Python303's user page. My true abuse was only in the English Wikibooks. I think that the accounts could be more legit when I gain more experience from experienced editors from then.

I felt sorry to David Eppstein for using an unlinked alternative account. My true abuse is only in the English Wikibooks, and the abuse type is vandalism. 218.212.76.59 (talk) 09:05, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
