Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Removal of what I added
[edit]The additions I put in where given by an organizer of the race. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 14:37, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe, but we need sources that people can check (Wikipedia:Verifiability). Also, for example, the Battle of Roslin did not take place in the race start field - see http://data.historic-scotland.gov.uk/data/docs/battlefields/roslin_full.pdf. Ejdguiseley (talk) 18:36, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
Carnethy Nomination

DYK for Carnethy 5
[edit]On 6 October 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Carnethy 5, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Carnethy 5, an annual hill race held in the Pentland Hills, commemorates the Battle of Roslin? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Carnethy 5. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Carnethy 5), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Proposed Page Deletion: Subject Does Not Wish To Have Page
[edit]Per Wikipedia:Proposed_deletion as a page editor, you are being informed of the proposed deletion of the page.
The article Carol Morgan has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

[edit]Frederick Berkeley, 5th Earl of Berkeley
[edit]Thanks for your edit at Frederick Berkeley, 5th Earl of Berkeley - I suspected it was wrong, but don't have a copy of Burkes or Cokayne's to check it in.
There is a editor in Cumbria who has repeatedly tried to add "Harry Taylor-Berkeley" {himself, I assume), to several articles including Baron Berkeley, Earl of Ormond (Ireland), Musgrave baronets and Brisco baronets
This latest editor was from Cumbria, but although he didn't try to add the full Harry Taylor-Berkeley, I suspect it was to create an ancestor to try and support his fantasy
Thanks again and best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 10:39, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- No problem. I think you're right. The supposed Taylor-Berkeley individuals would have been fairly prominent people if they had existed but there is no trace of them in reliable sources. It sounds like Harry is the man mentioned along with his parents at https://www.lancashirelife.co.uk/out-about/places/why-more-people-are-moving-to-kirkby-lonsdale-1-6010799. Ejdguiseley (talk) 13:18, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
- Fascinating - that's detective work that puts even Coleen Rooney in the shade - ;-) - thanks - Arjayay (talk) 14:00, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

[edit]ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message
[edit]Hi, thanks for your recent edit to this article. I've added Comrades Marathon back to the list per your suggestion. However, I've also removed other entries which do not have an article. Wikipedia is not a directory, and list articles work best when they are not excessively long. 162 etc. (talk) 14:33, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- At the moment the list is an odd selection. Some on there are relatively low-key events, but then you've removed some prestigious races like Desert Solstice, Javelina Jundred, Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji and Tor des Géants. The latter two already have articles. Ejdguiseley (talk) 15:49, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- I've added these last two in; they were not wikilinked in the existing version of the article so I had missed them. Of course, Wikipedia is a work in progress; if you feel that Desert Solstice and Javelina Jundred are notable events, by all means be WP:BOLD and create an article, which can then be linked from the list. 162 etc. (talk) 16:29, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. No plans for them, but never say never. Ejdguiseley (talk) 17:49, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
