Joanna Quaas

[edit]

Hey there, I didn’t catch that mention in time. The gray check mark just means the source was in a foreign language. Your DYK is headed to the main page with the photo soon on January 7th! Trillfendi (talk) 03:48, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thank you for the follow-up! :) – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 04:25, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Johanna Quaas

[edit]

On 7 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Johanna Quaas, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Johanna Quaas (pictured), the world's oldest competitive gymnast, did a tandem skydive from about 3,000 meters (9,800 ft) in 2016, dedicating it to Queen Elizabeth II? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Johanna Quaas. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Johanna Quaas), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

I suggest you read WP:OWNERSHIP. In the meantime I'll take this to the article talk page. GiantSnowman 13:13, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Symphyotrichum novae-angliae

[edit]

On 8 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Symphyotrichum novae-angliae, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Chippewa have smoked the root of the New England aster (pictured) in pipes to attract game? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Symphyotrichum novae-angliae. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Symphyotrichum novae-angliae), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Put your work towards something fun yet pointless

[edit]

Since you're on a hardworking editing spree with no signs of stopping, I might as well direct your attention toward something else interesting. Every year Wikipedia holds an event where contributors can cash in content improvement for points in a competitive knockout tournament: the WikiCup! It's a good fun competition, and since DYKs, GAs, and FAC all score points it should there's nothing that you already aren't doing. Sign-ups are open until January 31 if you ever consider joining in. Panini!🥪 05:56, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds fun Panini!, but I’m not a competitive person. I’ll take a look and think about it. Thanks! – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 06:01, 9 January 2022 (UTC) – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 06:01, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Email

[edit]

Thanks for the email. We've got health issues here, so I'm taking a break from wiki-work; I'll archive your email and read it again later. I'm not very familiar with WP:DYK, but I think I remember that they don't like the "lang" template very much, for various reasons ... one place you can ask about this is at WT:DYK. - Dank (push to talk) 16:09, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Opinions about the "lang" template aren't limited to DYK ... ask around. I hope to get back to editing again soon. - Dank (push to talk) 16:50, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Dank, okay, I'll take a survey. Thanks and be well. – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 17:39, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for your message: no apology needed, glad you're feeling better and looking forward to working with you again on other articles! GiantSnowman 09:37, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Same here ... no need to give it a second thought, you're doing fine. - Dank (push to talk) 01:22, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dracophyllum returns

[edit]
This is one of 200 photos...

I'm back - did you forget about me :D. Dracophyllum 22:30, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations, Eewilson! The list you nominated, List of Symphyotrichum species, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best lists on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured list. Keep up the great work! Cheers, PresN (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:26, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Are you alright

[edit]

or just on holiday/wikibreak? Dracophyllum 05:46, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm great! I've been working on genealogy, my first hobby/love. It requires intense research (just like working on a Wikipedia article). I'll probably be back in about 5 months, but I'm watching my messages. :) Thank you for asking. – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 06:07, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mount Price at FAC

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have nominated Mount Price as a featured article candidate. I hope you are doing well. Volcanoguy 04:15, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Volcanoguy: Hey, that's great! I will carve out some time to do a read-over. – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 16:28, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
20 days in and few comments. Volcanoguy 18:22, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Volcanoguy: Ugh! I'm sorry. I had actually started looking at it soon after you pinged me and got sidetracked. I've been preoccupied irl. Not bad, just off Wikipedia. I'll take a look this week. – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 01:00, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay, the article has been promoted. Now I'm gonna work on bringing Mount Garibaldi to FA. Volcanoguy 00:22, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful! (And I'm glad I'm off the hook because I feel bad for being such a slacker.) You can ping me about the next one when you nominate it. I can't promise anything, but I'm willing to try! – Elizabeth (Eewilson) (tag or ping me) (talk) 08:33, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Symphyotrichum subgenus Astropolium cladogram has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 22:16, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green - July GA Editathon

[edit]

Hello Eewilson:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in July 2022!

Running from July 1 to 31, 2022, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event focused on the topic of women and the environment. Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works during the event period (with an emphasis on environmental links and topics). GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to receive a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!
