Prince Ukpong Akpabio II moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) In addition, there appears to be a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 12:33, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla I am using my office secure WiFi, could this be the issue? How do I resolve this please Edyreuben (talkcontribs)

Maybe. You are using a P2P proxy, see the spur.us report. --Yamla (talk) 12:48, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Yamla, can you please confirm if my current network is okay for editing. I am connecting using my phone USB tethering. I was creating a new article but cannot continue because of this block. Please help out. Thank you. Edyreuben (talkcontribs)

I can confirm you are still using IP addresses flagged as P2P proxies, unfortunately. Template:Blocked p2p proxy has more information. --Yamla (talk) 11:44, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla I guess I can't use my office network to edit. I'll get mobile data then. Is it possible to lift the block when I when none P2P network? Reuben 11:49, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Once you move to a non-proxy, it may take up to 24 hours for the block to clear, or the block may clear immediately. Either way, nothing here is trying to target you. You are an editor in good standing, it's just that a lot of IP addresses in your general area are sold as P2P proxies. Once you are on a "clean" IP address, you'll be able to edit (perhaps after waiting up to 24 hours). --Yamla (talk) 12:16, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll get mobile data this evening when I'm done at work. I hope all get well after then. Thank you @Yamla for the assistance Reuben 13:04, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla Thank you for all the assistance. I am using a "clean" IP address now and like you said, I can edit. Your feedback has been useful 👍 Reuben 02:26, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please check for Deprecated sources for me

[edit]
Yamla (talk) Please can you check for Deprecated sources for me in this article. I am finding it hard to spot them out Reuben 10:05, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No. I don't work in that area. Also, I moved your article back to User:Edyreuben/sandbox because it definitely didn't belong in the Wikipedia talk namespace. Be warned, you have specifically claimed you personally own the copyright to File:Partik at Geneva.png, File:Pratik in London.png, and File:Pratik signature1.png. If you are Pratik Gauri, you should not be writing about yourself and probably falsely claim copyright ownership on the two pictures of yourself, which presumably were taken by someone else. If you are not Pratik Gauri, you are probably falsely claiming copyright ownership on the signature. Either way, this places the entire project in jeopardy; please immediately clean up the ownership of these three files before editing anything else. --Yamla (talk) 11:24, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla I have permission to use the pictures from the direct photographer. How do you advise that I proceed? Reuben 11:30, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In almost all cases, that means you can't use the photographs here and certainly means you can't claim ownership. See WP:COPYRIGHT. Also, if you are in direct contact with the subject, you probably have a conflict of interest. See WP:COI. You must declare this and should generally refrain from writing about subject areas for which you have a conflict. --Yamla (talk) 11:32, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Guide me please, should i ask the photographer to upload the image himself before I can use? I am not connected to the subject but I searched and founded a photographer that has his true pictures, that is where I got the pictures with full consent to use them independently. How do I reconcile this please? Reuben 11:41, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Edyreuben. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Edyreuben. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Edyreuben|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Celestina007 (talk) 17:06, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Celestina007 This is not a paid article. My reason for searching out for the subject's picture was because all the once I online was not allowed on Wikipedia; this is why I searched and found a contact "a photographer" who had pictures of the subject and was willing to give it out and consented for me to use it on Wikipedia. I had found the subject worthy of having a page on Wikipedia after listening to one of his TEDx talks. Reuben 17:18, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
so, how does that make the image "your own work"? ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:27, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm open to correction. What should I do to get this right? I had thought since he has given consent that I could use it Reuben 17:29, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Is that so? What consent? Never mind but I honestly do not believe your story but AGF. Please answer this, in what capacity are you acquainted with the editors named Amosflash, Deplug1, Eddysocial and St theresa01? Celestina007 (talk) 17:40, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Celestina007 I have observed that you are checking on the Wofia Samuel Before now, I have been always uploading image on Wikicommons using myself as owner. I thought since the image don't have a copy right disclaimer that it was possible to use them. I have received all reviews on my image uploads. I think I better understand what to do now. I'll have to get copyright clearance for these images

  • Note: Please note that this is a WP:SLEEPER and a probable alternate account for a blocked or banned editor. They have exhibited that they are an SPA promo account possibly engaging in socking, please see their extensive history of spamming and socking here. Curb Safe Charmer & TheAafi have also shared data that this account is spurious, I wouldn’t suggest unblocking anytime soon. Celestina007 (talk) 00:42, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
this is not an alternate account neither has it been intentionally used for spamming and stocking. Yes, the previous activity logs for the account have suggested otherwise but I can say without doubt that it was out of ignorance and poor guidance. While I'm not suggesting immediate unblocking but truly request that the infinite block be reviewed to a suspension period. I love Wikipedia and don't want to lose the privilege of being an editor Reuben 01:07, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is interesting that you can use very peculiar words like “infinite” especially since you have barely 130 edits believe me when I say certain Master editors do not even know what that means in relation to a block, but okay, whatever you say & lastly I also do not appreciate this, It is borderline dog whistling. Celestina007 (talk) 16:20, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My edits was still counting before my not deliberate failure to fully complied with Wikipedia policy for which I've been blocked hence, my appeal for unblock. On borderline dog whistling, it just an attempt to explain my position while accepting my fault. Lastly, Celestina007 do consider my request for unblock. I have learned and won't attempt what I don't understand while editing should you my request meets your acceptance Reuben 22:31, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:Pratik Gauri has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
