Links to draft articles
[edit]Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Binibining Pilipinas 2022. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 22:24, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Miss Universe Philippines 2023
[edit]Hello, Editscontent2.9,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Miss Universe Philippines 2023 for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Miss Universe Philippines 2023, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Hello, Editscontent2.9,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Pppery and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Miss Universe Philippines 2023, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Speedy deletion nomination of The Miss Globe 2022
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Miss Globe 2022 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ☆ Bri (talk) 02:25, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

- And please, stop changing the name of Turkey to Türkiye, it has been discussed multiple times in the country's talkpage that Turkey must be followed in all Wikipedia articles, as compliant to WP:COMMONNAME which means regardless what the sash says Wikipedia rules will still be followed. I hope this is the last time I'd have to remind regarding these rules, so as not to result in an edit war. Milesq (talk) 15:12, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
"Turkey" vs. "Türkiye"
[edit]Hi! I saw you used the name "Türkiye" as the name of the country generally known in English as "Turkey" in your recent edit.
Q: Why don't you use the name Türkiye, the correct name for this country?
A: Because the English-language Wikipedia has a WP:COMMONNAME policy. We use names for countries and places that are the names commonly used for them in English, regardless of what official organizations use. Technically, this kind of name is known as an exonym. For example, we use the name Germany, instead of the native endonym Deutschland, and we use the name Japan instead of the native name 日本.
(Notice that this does not apply when we are quoting a literal name in Turkish; for example, the newspaper is called Türkiye, not Turkey. To do that would be hypercorrection, and we don't do that. Nor do we mangle the name into English in direct quotations in the Turkish language, nor in URLs. But it does apply for all uses in the English language; so the capital is Ankara, Turkey, not "Ankara, Türkiye")
If or when that general English-language usage changes (as has happened in the past with place names such as Mumbai and Beijing), the same WP:COMMONNAME policy implies that the English-language Wikipedia will necessarily also follow suit. So far, that hasn't happened.
This has been discussed many times, with the same result every time because of the common name policy. If you'd like to discuss this further, please take it up at Talk:Turkey. However, for the reasons given above, there is currently a moratorium on further requests for name changes to the Turkey article until 1 December 2023. — The Anome (talk) 14:21, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hi! I saw you used the name "Türkiye" as the name of the country generally known in English as "Turkey" in your recent edit.

For example, we use the name Germany, instead of the native endonym Deutschland, and we use the name Japan instead of the native name 日本.
- Q: But the Turkish government, U.S. State Department, and United Nations all use "Türkiye", so it must be correct.
- A: Indeed they do. But WP:COMMONNAME is not authority-based, but usage-based.
Notice that this does not apply when we are quoting a literal name in Turkish; for example, the newspaper is called Türkiye, not Turkey. To do that would be hypercorrection, and we don't do that. Nor do we mangle the name into English in direct quotations, including titles of documents, nor in URLs. But it does apply for all uses in Wikipedia's own voice in the English language, including article titles (so the capital is Ankara, Turkey, not "Ankara, Türkiye")

Note on Miss Universe Philippines 2024
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Miss Universe Philippines 2024 a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Miss Universe Philippines 2024. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. - @Drmies, I think we are giving @Editscontent2.9 too many chances. Based here in the user's talk page, Editscontent2.9 has been doing disruptive edits for more than a year now. In this edit, the certain user added Alethea Ambrosio to the roster of candidates representing Bulacan although Bulacan is not a country and only competes at Miss Universe Philippines. Another one is this edit with the edit summary: "Indognesia and Nicaragua wil widrrw". The summary for the lack of a better term is "unprofessional".
- I would also like to point out what @Japemizen627 mentioned fourteen days ago in this same talk page that this user added Alice Guo, a politician in the Philippines, as the representative of Chinese Taipei in the article, seen in this edit. There is no such reliable reference that states that Guo will represent Chinese Taipei, and there hasn't been a national director announced for the aforementioned country. The user also added Ivana Trišić as the candidate of Serbia in this edit, although no Serbian candidate has been appointed yet.
- On May 30, 2024, @Editscontent2.9 added a candidate for "Floptropica" named Deboráh-Fei Ali-Harris in this edit, which is then linked to the article "Cupcakke". This again is a case of vandalism as "Floptropica" is a fictional country. In the edit summary of the edit they made at the article of Miss Universe Philippines 2024, the user stated (in verbatim): "USE THEIR COMMON NAME BITCHES." Which again violates the rules of Wikipedia. No such foul words are to be used in this edit summary, and in any article/page created in Wikipedia. Also doing it in all caps does not help and feels as if the user is shouting.

- I may add, with all the evidence gathered it's safe to say we can raise this up to WP:ANI where immediate action can be given. Milesq (talk) 19:34, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
Miss "Chinese Taipei" on Miss Universe 2024?
[edit]I repeat, there is not such information regarding her nomination, as she is currently on a high-profile case on her true intentions in the Philippines. Whoever your source may be is a fraud or a meme creator, and you completely fell for it. I suggest not relying as so much information on Facebook (or wherever you got that information from) unless it came from the official organization itself. Alice Guo is not a candidate. She is a politician in a high profile case. That's all there is to it. WP:VD Japemizen627 (talk) 02:32, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

. Drmies (talk) 21:01, 25 June 2024 (UTC)So many problems that were signaled before have occurred again, after I warned you for logged-out editing (you also made four of those since then), and you continue to be unwilling to address them (I think you've responded twice on your talk page, and not with any substance). Also, BITCHES (or britches), that's just totally not acceptable. If you do not alter this behavior, and if you do not start communicating with editors who raise questions about your edits, you will likely be blocked indefinitely. Drmies (talk) 21:04, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Drmies, sorry to say but there has been no changes to this user's behavior. For example is this edit where they used a fake reference to say a certain girl is competing at the pageant, which was one of the factors contributing to his temporary block period. I have also messaged them in this talk page and they paid no notice and kept on vandalizing anyway. Clearly they are not here to build an encyclopedia but rather spread misinformation for what unknown reason there is. If any case, their logged-out editing behavior must also be studied in case they may also have socks present in the wiki. Thank you. Milesq (talk) 05:46, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Back to old behavior
[edit]Since your editing ban has been lifted your disruptive editing behavior has still not changed a bit by still deviating names from common naming standards in Wikipedia with no basis. I urge you to stop it before you will get permanently blocked from editing. Milesq (talk) 04:35, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
Last warning, Editscontent2.9. Explain edits properly, provide verification for your edits, and stick to the conventions. Drmies (talk) 14:57, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Drmies, I think they have now committed their final straw, as they once again removed massive information at Miss Universe 2024 without explaining anything at all; as seen on this edit here. Milesq (talk) 11:48, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
