Message to Edgar2007
I'm very glad to receive a notification that you are interested in my article. Honestly speaking, I'm novice in contributing to wikipedia. I have been struggling with wikipedia before creating GIRKA. I believe there is more to learn if I want to be a good contributor. Please bear with me now and always and please guide so that I can stand firmly. My email is shamsurabiu@gmail.com. I observe that you are two hours ahead of our local time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shamsurabiu (talk • contribs) 13:54, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Glee episode articles
Edgars2007, I've noticed you creating redirect pages for future Glee episodes based on rumored titles for these episodes. I can appreciate why you want to, but please don't. This is a violation of WP:CRYSTAL: Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, and should not be based on anything other than reliable sources. Fan sites, the glee wikias, none of these are reliable sources. Not until an episode title is reported through a reliable source should a redirect be created. Generally, if the episode title can't be added to the season 4 page with such a source given, it shouldn't have a redirect. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:07, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- I knew that someone will post something about this :D But it is just a redirect. If there won't be such episode, then I don't mind if the redirect is deleted. I could understand that it would be violation of WP:CRYSTAL if I would create articles based on fan sites, glee wikias and other places, but i'm not doing that. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 17:31, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- No, but you're creating something on Wikipedia that has no basis in reliable fact. I'll let the ones you've done so far stand, but future ones will be put up for deletion, since they are, in fact, based on fan sites, glee wikias, and other places. WP:CRYSTAL applies to redirects as well, as it's clear you know. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:39, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Removal of Latvian interwiki links
Hi, I'm just wondering why you've been removing these from a number of articles? The links appear to work so I'm a little confused. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 21:30, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 28
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Meghan Gardler, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Center and Power Forward (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:BK Ventspils logo.svg)
Thanks for uploading File:BK Ventspils logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
Why?
Hey, again why create an article, just to redirect it? Kante4 (talk) 22:26, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- Same here. An answer would be nice so i can (try to) understand why you did that. Kante4 (talk) 19:14, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi Edgars. Thank you for your contribution to the article. I added some of the changes that you had made. The reason I reverted the edits was that you had omitted to much information that was previously stated. The tables you created were not uniform. There is no real "traditional" table wiki format. Each article has different tweaks here and there.
Thanks! Mimi C. (talk) 18:36, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
Hi! I just had a chat with an admin person. I will accept your changes but I will re-add some information that you omitted, such as the StarKid albums, and I will also make the Awards table into one. Thanks!Mimi C. (talk) 19:48, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- Ok, now it looks ok. But do we need to include musical performances? You know, there are thousands of them, ok, I see the note, that there are a selection of them, but I think it is kind of POV... and actually I haven't seen musical performances table/section on other articles. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 06:45, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Hi again! I'd like to draw your attention to this: [[1]] If you scroll down to the "Appropriate" section and open the "discography" and "awards" tables, you'll notice that the version of my tables are correct and acceptable by Wikipedia standards. The titles have a background color and the discography section is in table form. Just because you see your table/chart version on other Wikipedia articles does not make it correct not the standard Wikipedia format. Plus it is visually easier to read when it is bold and color-coded. Yes, I think Musical Performances should be included since they are professional credits and it shows his growth as an artist. I trimmed the original table to put only the notable ones and to make it more concise. I have seen the section on other Wikipedia pages, that's why I included it - it was not added randomly. I am willing to leave the Discography list alone since it does make the article shorter, but what do you think about creating a Discography article for him, since the section is quite extensive? We could also move the musical performances there if you'd like? What do you think? Thanks! Mimi C. (talk) 15:04, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- Ok, what about that MOS page - where do you see background color for titles (please note, that the title in that MOS page is "List of acting performances in film and television" NOT "Filmographies"). And as for filmographies there was disscusion — Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers/Archive 5 (I'm not sooooo good in English, so I won't read it all, but as far as I understand the consensus is to use such tables, not with bgcolors; and there is this little talk (I think taht there are some more in the archive). --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 08:36, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
This is all so confusing lol! :-) After reading through all the links you gave me, I came to the conclusion that there was no consensus regarding color (which is stated in the conclusion of the discussion). Discussions aren't exactly realiable since there are so many different points of views represented. I based my table on what seems to be an official Wikipedia table style. Regardless, I decided to look at "Featured" articles to see how they represented tables. Even with them being regarded as "official" Wikipedia articles, there were also differences in prose and table layouts. However, the two most common table layouts I came across are the two shown below. Which one do you prefer? Mimi C. (talk) 16:46, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- I prefer the first one. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 17:55, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Me too! Great! I'll put it in now. Thanks for your help :-) Mimi C. (talk) 18:12, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

You might like to have a read of the MOS section on flags in info boxes here. LGA (was LightGreenApple) talk to me 08:41, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

- The infobox prohibition is more specific than the use in tables in articles. LGA (was LightGreenApple) talk to me 10:25, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: A11 road (Latvia)
Hello Edgars2007, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of A11 road (Latvia), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Only infobox, no text is not a reason to delete articles as it is something which can, and in this case has, been fixed by ordinary editing. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 18:44, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Latvian help needed
Hello Edgars2007, I'm contacting you because we need some Latvian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on lv.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Latvian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 18:21, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Hello, Edgars2007. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Olga Medynich, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Olga Medynich to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.
If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.
Thanks, Sourov0000 (talk) 16:12, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Hey Edgars2007, I notice you create a lot of new articles. Have you considered requesting the Autopatrolled userright? If the permission were granted, this would cause your articles to automatically be marked as patrolled on the new pages feed, saving new page patrollers some work. You can make a request here. As requested by you, I converted both {{Episode list}} and {{Episode list/sublist}} to a module (Module:Episode list). No major problems arose, and the small ones that did were fixed. The only downside is that this isn't an ultimate fix. Whether they display or not, parameters are still part of the inclusion on the main list pages; however, everything is still done more efficiently. IIRC, Season 11 of the Simpsons (ignore the script error, it is completely unrelated) was ~30kB less inclusion. moluɐɯ 23:24, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

I see that you reverted my change to the hatnote on Imagine (John Lennon song). When intentionally linking to a disambiguation page, the link should be piped through the redirect that has the (disambiguation) identifier per WP:INTDABLINK. This lets those of us at WP:DPL know that the link is intentional. The {{redirect}} template doesn't like piped links. That's why I changed the hatnote. -Niceguyedc Go Huskies! 02:09, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Niceguyedc: If {{redirect}} doesn't like something, then it should be reported at the template's talk page, so it could maybe be fixed. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 07:55, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- I've used one of the redirect templates ({{redirect3}}) to make the change. The redirect looks exactly the same on the page, but it goes through the Imagine (disambiguation) page like it should. A user following the link will go right where they expect, to the Songs section of the disambiguation page.-Niceguyedc Go Huskies! 08:33, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
