2013 Singapore Cup Bracket

[edit]

Hi Druryfire, I noticed that you have added the teams' names in the quarter-finals bracket for the 2013 Singapore Cup. However the 2013 edition of the Cup has some changes to the way the teams progress to the final where instead of teams being drawn with a clear route to the final, clubs will now be drawn on a round-by-round basis. The clubs competing in each round of the competition shall be drawn in pairs, with the tie to be played on a knockout format. This shall be continued until the finals of the competition. Source

As such, I have removed the teams from the quarter-final bracket until the draw for the next round is made in due time. Thanks.

Typo

[edit]

Hi Druryfire, I noticed you created several new pages recently. Unfortunately they all have the same typo. Could you please fix "appearences" --> "appearances"? Thanks! Clerks. (talk) 14:55, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

[edit]

Ok Adam, I got it now. Thank you for your edit and explain it to me.

I hope you are fine, Best wishes ^_^ Mage2one (talk) 10:09, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

you want to keep in same format? I think they work well.
- I think they're rather alright now however In 2009 seasons, I plan to write the history of the teams in Premier League by collect the information from many Thai website.

And what are the plans from FAT, are they introducing a 3rd divison?

From the news that I heard from FAT.

- FAT will restructure the Thai football league in 2009 seasons for conform with AFC regulation because they don't want to lose the quota of thai club in the new AFC Champion League [3]

- They maybe combine the Division 2 League and Provincial League together
<Currently Division 2 League+ Provincial League = New Division 2 League>

- They maybe change the official name of the top level football league from "Thailand Premier League" to "Thai Premier League"

so to be continued in the next season... ^_^ Mage2one (talk) 12:42, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Thailand again

[edit]

Hi Adam, Sorry for replying late. I have an terrible exam in this month.

Welcome to Bangkok again, Bangkok is still the wonderful city even through There are many dour news about violence in this city...

Thank you for your persuasion. I'd love to meet you but I'm not sure that I'm stay in Bangkok at that time because after the Asean cup's group stage finished in December 10, My friends and I maybe plan to go to Indonesia or Myanmar for support Thailand when we play as away side on round 2 and for travel and relax after our term ending.

However our plan is not confirm. Which the part of Bangkok that you stay? My location is between Bang Khae and Bang Bon. If we cancel the plan for some reason and I'm free in that day, I hope we can meet up somewhere.

Best wishes, my friend ^_^ Mage2one (talk) 17:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bangkok Bank maybe disband!

[edit]

Have you heard the news about the disbanding of Bangkok Bank? It was the big news of Thai football now after they can't stand in the TPL in this season.

Due to in the next season of the TPL, FAT need to specify quality of the team in TPL for conform to AFC regulation so they command that every team in TPL 2009 seasons must...

1. The team in TPL 2009 must notarize to the company limited. That was the some reason for the disbanding of Bangkok Bank FC.
2. Head coach of the team in TPL 2009 must have the A-License from AFC.
3. All stadium in TPL 2009 must pass the expectation which should have the newsroom, the special seats for the newsman, enough light and the strong security.
4. Each team in TPL 2009 must have the youth team.

If any team can't perform to above mentioned. They maybe also relegate to the division 1 league immediately. all thing for the progress of Thai football league.

Just report the news. I hope you are fine ^_^ Mage2one (talk) 19:42, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesian teams

[edit]

We have significant issues with new articles with no WP:RS - it would be great if you could locate some when creating articles - thanks SatuSuro 00:14, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please also note that we have new articles created that are in effect orphans if they do not have a simple project tag on the talk/discussion page SatuSuro 00:55, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FYI - I have just sent a follow up also sent to a recent Ip number regarding the sourceless nature of info being added to the article -

Indonesia national football team results - every time you edit that page - it shows at the bottom of the page you are editing Encyclopedic content must be verifiable - you have regularly changed the team results without any sign of where the information comes from.

Please take the effort to identify your sources - WP:RS, WP:V are important for the credibilty of wikipedia - you can help by indentifying your sources - if you fail to do so, someone will have to start reverting your edits will be reverted and all your hard work will come apart. Help wikipedia and help yurself and understand WP:RS and WP:V are important SatuSuro 13:14, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I understand your predicament - I am not trying to make your life toodifficult  ;) - could we have a compromise then - at least an 'external link' - even if it is the indonesian language version (please not another wikipedia page though) - if that was possible - we technically can get around the WP:V issue because if someone is really ambitious they can trawl through the indonesian material to see that it is true? Hong Kong First Division

[edit]

Hi, You deleted the records for Week 23 for some unknown reason.

These games, have been played outside of week 23, but are still counted as week 23 by HKFA. If you are unsure in the future, then please discuss and not just delete. Druryfire (talk) 09:26, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I say sorry about that.Hoising (talk) 12:53, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please leave your message at the bottom instead of middle. I can't see it initially. Those Japanese clubs are not intentionally added, but I intentionally made the football league table template into the article. However, as I have no time to finish it, I put that here and hiding it. Also, the club logo violated to fair use. So I have removed it. Raymond Giggs 19:56, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to your question on my talk page, I think it has to do with the rules of qualifications and some general practice from Europe. I think it it quite clear that the Singapore Cup winner will qualify for the tournament, unless of course they are the S-League champions or a foreign team. As such, it will be more accurate to put the Singapore Cup winner first, and change the qualification criteria if the above two scenario occur. This, I think, would be consistent with the practice in Europe, in which (for example) the Cup or League Cup winners are listed in the template first, and changes made later if the original template prove otherwise. Football match SVG image file

Hi mate. I have been trying to look for a template to use so that I can create a SVG image file for tomorrow's Singapore League Cup Final. It should look something like this: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:HKLC_Final_2009-04-04.svg However, I tried all I can but have no success, even the Inkscape download that is recommended had failed. Any idea how I can go about doing it?Frankie goh (talk) 15:35, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AFC Cup Quali

[edit]

Hi Mate, long time no hear. Just want to point out that you maybe should change the 2009 League Article. Cause due to the FA Cup, the second will not qualify for the AFC Cup anymore. ;-) Cheers, --Lokomotive74 (talk) 17:27, 19 June 2009 (UTC) ..and one mire I personally believe that the new head coach of Patty United is Wisoon Wichaya an not Wisut Wichaya. As he was the coach of BKK Bank last year, it would make sense. At least from my point of view. --Lokomotive74 (talk) 17:29, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. Important is that everything is ok with you and your family. In the German Wiki I am rolling up the whole asian continent by myself. So more work than I thought. But once I am done here, I am pretty much sure, I will transfer the content of my articles there to the en, an can ad a bit more quality to the existing informations. Nevertheless, the count of peopl, which are editing and adding informations in the english wiki in sense of Thaifootball has increased over the last year. So good job and head up. Regarding the reply of your discussion topic. Simply reply under the discussion where she has started in your discussion room. People will than mark them as watch and than they are able to see whether you replied or not. And can than reply again by themself under the same topic. Otherwise you will have to jump from one user discussion to the other. ;-) --Lokomotive74 (talk) 17:58, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of football issue

[edit]

Hi, Drury. I notice a couple of things that is related to Singapore football on wiki that I would like to share wuth you.

First, the sleague.com has finally put up all the details of the reserves' Prime League on the web. I think it would be good to create a page, but just how detail it should go, I will want to seek your opinion.

Next, I notice the fixture and result page for the Thailand Premier League was deleted. There's a similar page for S-League this season, although the main page doesn'y have a result table (a reason use to justify the fixture and result page deletion).

Apparently there isn't a "standard" as to how the season page of each league should looks like, and how detail it should go, although most of the league doesn't have detail fixture and result (notable exception being HK, NZ and Australia). So I was wondering if the fixture and result page should be merged with the main page with a scolling bar (like HK), or we should just include a result table on the main page, or just keep it as it is with a risk of getting delete.

Sorry for going long. Hope to hear from you soon.Frankie goh (talk) 07:59, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Atif Bashir

[edit]

Please stop adding a player called 'Atif Riaz' to the Pakistan national football team article - his name is Atif Bashir! Regards, GiantSnowman 11:45, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's a difference between a "stupid" edit and a typing error - I was meant to type Bradford City but for some reason didn't. And you clearly have said he is called Riaz, as this edit shows...oh, and please remain civil :) GiantSnowman 11:59, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Look at the diff, you clearly change 'Bashir' to 'Riaz'. Oh, and whenever you revert in future, please check to make sure you're not deleting intervening good edits...GiantSnowman
Have you even reviewed your edit?!? - there's no escaping the fact you clearly changed 'Bashir' to 'Riaz'! Oh, and as for my edit, I changed Manchester United to Bradford City instead of Bradford City for some reason, I must have been distracted. It was a simple editing mistake that you should have corrected rather than reverting - as a Bradford City fan I think I know what team Rehman plays for! Oh, and as for my other edits that you have concerns with - which ones exactly? I have been on Wikipedia a helluva lot longer than you and have never had a problem with accusations of bad editing...GiantSnowman 12:19, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Um, maybe because his article is located at Atif Bashir? Oh, and you still haven't pointed out any of my previous poor edits you were so quick to criticise me for earlier...what's that, you can't find any because you were talking rubbish?!? GiantSnowman 12:37, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Because he isn't known as Qureishi Atif Bashir, he is known as Atif Bashir! GiantSnowman 12:43, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is Wikipedia though, not the AFC website...read WP:COMMONNAME. There are 0 Google hits for Qureishi Atif Bashir, and 117 Google hits for Qureshi Atif Bashir (the correct spelling) - compare that with 9,890 for Atif Bashir. GiantSnowman 12:49, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's no accusations, it's fact - this edit you made shows you changing 'Bashir' to 'Riaz'...end of story. GiantSnowman 13:04, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Location maps of teams

[edit]

I implemented a location map for the Bahraini CSL as requested. However, this was a little difficult to do due to the relative lack of information. Since there are only stadiums listed for a couple of clubs, I chose the clubs' cities as reference points.

In general, the dots in the maps should refer to (in this order) the stadium a club uses as a permanent home ground for the season in question or, if not available, the city the club is located in. If there are multiple clubs in the same stadium (for example, AC Milan and Internazionale sharing Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the Serie A), put them on the same dot. If there are multiple clubs within the same city and available displaying space is restricted, list them as seen on the Bahraini CSL map.

As for the basic location map template, its documentation can be found here. All specific maps for a specific country are derived from this one and thus use the same parameters.

You may also want to check out the Asia subpage of the German WikiProject Kartenwerkstatt, which tries to improve the quality of maps throughout Wikipedia. I would suggest to begin adding the maps with those countries which already have an updated-style type of map because displaying errors are significantly reduced for those.

A good tool for searching missing coordinates is Google Earth or anything else which offers decimal coordinates.

I hope this is not too much information at a time for you. If you need more references, take a look at the code of the maps in the UEFA articles. Finally, if there are any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 21:56, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The coordinates are just transferred from degrees, minutes and seconds to a decimal version. I usually take the decimal coordinates from either the article (which offers a multitude of options when you click on the coordinates) or from Google Earth (you will have to change the coordinate display to decimal under Tools --> Options). Latitudes north of the equator and longitudes east of the Greenwich meridian will be coded as positive numbers, everything south of the equator or/and west from the Greenwich meridian is realized as a negative number.
A quick Google search resulted in this useful program, which may also be used. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 18:31, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

I noticed that you have used the term "Arabian Gulf" in several of the pages you have created. Please note that this is in violation of the Wikipedia's WP:UCN policy on naming. The common English name of the body of the water separating Iran and neighboring Arab states , is Persian Gulf, and that's the name that should be used in the body of the articles. Please keep this in mind, in the future, when creating new pages. Thanks in advance. --Kurdo777 (talk) 15:00, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no dispute about which name is the common name in English, the policy is crystal clear on this issue. What template did you use , because it needs to be corrected as well. --Kurdo777 (talk) 15:11, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thai football club articles

[edit]

Hi. You've created quite a few articles on Thai football clubs. Some of them, however, don't seem to have their notability clearly established. According to Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Notability, "all teams that have played in the the national cup (or the national level of the league structure in countries where no cup exists) are assumed to meet WP:N criteria. Teams that are not eligible for national cups must be shown to meet broader WP:N criteria." The article on Kabinburi F.C., for example, doesn't indicate how the team meats Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. Since they are a newly-founded team with no actual play history, specific citations of coverage in reliable sources should be provided to show how the subject is notable. --Paul_012 (talk) 06:11, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

HTTU or MTTU or ITTU?

[edit]

Here you asked this question. It is International Turkmen-Turkish University team. Then it is HTTU in Turkmen, ITTU in English, MTTU in Russian. As we have nothing to do with Russian, it surely can't be MTTU. It is known in our official language as HTTU. Kind Regards --Hanberke (talk) 11:46, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Id love to help. Most of the info I get is from rsssf.com, so I think this could be reliable. I used the website for Lebanese international matches, top scorers and domestic competitions. But what about the disfunct teams? Goalzz.com could also help find squads for the two clubs in the Lebanese Premier League that were promoted last season that have nothing. I could even contribute to football in Thailand. Cheers, --Smkaram (talk) 15:20, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see, and also maybe for the leagues an "all-time record table" which counts up all the wins, draws, losses, goal, points, and overall goal difference. But that would be a bigger task, so it depends on what you choose to take up. I don't mind; whatever we do will be a contribution. --Smkaram (talk) 15:30, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Would you mind filling the tables on Lebanese Football Officials? The info is in the link below, I just don't have time to fill them out at once. No research needed. Thanks--Smkaram (talk) 16:37, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gents,

I think the time has come to try and use some kind of standard for the articles of our Thai football teams from TPL down to the RL leagues. Some look a mess, some information is back to front. We need to settle on some templates.

Can anyone suggest ideas??

Here's some from myself:

 • Brief introduction. Doesn't need to be big. State the team's full name, year formed and location.
 • Club History - How the club was formed, who owns the club. Break it down into sub sections for yearly summaries if need be. Could be incoporated into the timelines some pages have
 • Club Creasts - The clubs shirt badges seem to change yearly, lets show non thai football experts how the clubs have developed. Show the club logo's and give brief explanation of how they developed.
 • Season by season records - I suggest the table below is used for all teams
Season League FA Cup Queen's
Cup
Super
Cup
Kor Royal
Cup
Asia Top goalscorer
Division P W D L F A Pts Pos Name Goals
1996-97 TPL 34 9 14 11 37 44 41 12th

2000 TPL 22 14 7 1 48 14 49 1st W Asian Cup Winners Cup - QF

2008 TPL 30 16 7 7 50 31 55 3rd Anon Sangsanoi 20
2009 TPL 30 15 6 9 53 34 51 4th RU RU RU TSW Cup Winners Anon Sangsanoi 18
 • Club Honours - are these called honours or achievements? Do you show runners up achievements aswell as winners medals?
 • Continental Competitions - Vital the performances of our teams are shown but they already in the season by season table, do we need it?
 • Coaches - A table of coaches past and present along with associated honours
 • Current Squad - Do we need to show transfers? They have yearly pages per TPL club to show this

Generally this is the basic requirement, in my opinion in this order. What are your opinions?

Can anyone create a page, probably in the Thailand Portal so we cna have a checklist, maybe assign certain users to certain pages so we don't undone what other people have done and discuss! Druryfire (talk) 22:00, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dru, all the logos and player pics should have the appropriate licences. Otherwise they will kicked sooner or later. I have seen a lot of badges where gone. Things like that Jetsada Jitsawad should be avoided. This pic, which already been reverted, obviously was made by Janeand not by the contributor. Why did you overwrite all my comments? You not want the truth to come out? You can't just make things up in wikipedia, anything you do must be referenced otherwise it is just untrue. For instance, we don't even know that there will be a 2012 tournament because in the past, it is just as easily for it to be moved to January 2013 making it the 2013 tournament. Regarding "Positions by round" in 2010–11 Persian Gulf Cup

[edit]

Hi

Today (26.03.2011) there was a match between "Sepahan-Sanat Naft" in the 2010–11 Persian Gulf Cup. This match was the postponded match from week no.15 of the season. I updated whole the "Positions by round" week by week based on the result of this match, which refers to week no.15. It is because that Sepahan went to the top from two weeks ago.

If you like to check it please tell me, so I send you all the "League tables" from week no.15 to week no.27.

Regards

Koorosh1234 (talk) 22:41, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi
Thanks for your reply. As you feel that there might be some problems if I update the "Positions by round" by my way, I accept your way. I will bring back the "Positions by round" to the previous version in 25th of March, and just apply the effect of the "Sepahan-Sanat Naft" match result to the recent week (week no.27).
I hope this way will convenient.

Hi, I've noticed you've renamed a lot of articles recently from for example 2011 to 2010-11. These competitions were only played in 2011 or 2010 for instance, not over two years. The correct naming of these competitions is 2011 Hong Kong FA Cup, not 2010-11 Hong Kong FA Cup for example. Druryfire (talk) 13:22, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

At first I would like to apologize to you, I do not speak English well (and I use the Google translation).

I think I did not understand you well.

Most of the teams we have in Saudi Arabia does not have the stadium, and even the big ones that have the courts are in fact had not been engaged their home games at the stadiums of their own, but is playing in the stadiums again, such as Al Hilal, who owns a stadium of its own, but it accommodates only to 10000 fans only!

But he plays their home games in King Fahd International Stadium

There are many clubs not have stadium, And play in another stadium, It may be in another city

I do not think that the first division and the second is worth, but to put the order of the table

Only important to keep the Stadia and locations with League Table

I have removed File:Buriram F.C..png which you added to 2010 Regional League Division 2 with this edit, because it does not have a valid non-free media use rationale for the article. 2012 AFC U-16 Championship draw

I-League Attendance

[edit]

Hey mate. Just came to talk about your suggestion which is good but the thing is out of the 42 matches played this season we only know the attendance of 3 of them. I know very sad sense it says in the AFC Criteria that we must release attendance. I say once we reach a point when we know the attendance of at least FIVE matches we could make that table. At this moment it just does not seem right just to have three. Also the first two (8,000 and 11,000 attendances) I am not sure if that is even true or not. So my vote is yes good idea but wait till we have more information. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 18:00, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah I see what you did on the Thai Premier League. Its a good to have on the page. I might use the idea of stadium changes for the 2012-13 I-League page as before that season there will be many changes in terms of stadiums being used and renovated. Also I would make a page that would be like a diary to me but I just don't feel right about it until I have enough information on the subject. I don't know, its a personal thing. Also regarding Pailan Arrows I will try to find the news story. Its tough as I don't remember when it was said. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 18:43, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yangon United? vs Mongol champions?

[edit]

Dear Druryfire,

Is it true that Yangon United will participate in 2012 AFC Cup? They are still listed in 2012 AFC President's Cup. Which team will replace them? Mongol champions?

I'd much appreciate your reply.--Hanberke (talk) 14:03, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2012 AFC Cup

[edit]

I posted the source on both 2012 AFC Cup and 2012 AFC President's Cup pages. You may check it out now. Meanwhile, I also feel strange about the Syrian Premier League champions, but the pdf of AFC say it is Al-Shorta. --Antonytse (talk) 16:53, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is a source I found about the Syrian League. Apparently there was some sort of "play-off" in September: [11]. As to why those two teams were chosen, I have no idea. Chanheigeorge (talk) 18:18, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I think I got the Syrian league figured out by "reading" some Arabic articles (you can use Google translate or find an editor who can read Arabic):

 • No league champion was awarded for 2010-11, but a "play-off" was played to decide who represent Syria in the AFC Cup. [12]
 • Initially three teams were involved: Al-Wahda, Al-Jaish and Al-Shorta. [13]
 • Al-Wahda withdrew, so only two teams left. [14]
 • Al-Shorta beat Al-Jaish and qualified for AFC Cup. [15]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2012 Emir of Qatar Cup, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2011 Emir of Qatar Cup. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 10:06, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

UFWC

[edit]

What's with the uncivil attitude? To count for the UFWC it must be a match that is listed at FIFA.com as an official A international. When I removed it, it wasn't. I never said that there was no such match, I simply asserted that we could not, at that time, be confidently considered a UFWC match. It is the person who would introduce something controversial or uncertain to the encyclopedia who needs to justify it at talk pages, not the person preserving the verifiable status quo. Per WP:BRD, it was incumbent on you to discuss it if you thought the revert inappropriate. Kevin McE (talk) 20:15, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Salam (al-Garfa) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Further to previous warnings, you created 2012–13 Lebanese FA Cup which is entirely unreferenced. If you continue to create unreferenced articles, your editing could be interpreted as disruptive and may lead to a block. GiantSnowman 16:17, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I warned you just over a month ago about creating unreferenced articles, yet you seem to have completely ignored that. No references available? It is not notable then, is it, and you shouldn't be creating it in the first place. 1 in 10 unreferenced articles is 1 too many. GiantSnowman 19:43, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, the article you created was completely unreferenced; the version I tagged was completely unreferenced; you only added an external link after I warned you. Don't try and worm your way out of this, you won't succeed - there is no excuse whatsoever for your continued creation of unreferenced articles. UAE League

[edit]

I notice you reverted my edit again, but at least you re-added my cites. However, I am still puzzled by the purpose of the lower table. It has text in the intro referring to 12-13, and given the time of year now, I see any changes at this stage can't be regarded yet as 2013-14 pre-season. If changes have happened just after the previous season they can be reported within the 'old' season. Some of the cites in that lower table are making a point of referring to 'next season'. I think we should just have cited manager positions within the club list, and then could have a managerial changes table once we are reasonably within the 2013-14 window. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 15:57, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. I note you intend to do things as I suggest, but point out that other leagues don't do it that way. I had a quick look at the 2012-13 Premier League manager changes section and there were some included pre-season, but also one post -season. The season articles are primarily meant to be about that particular season, and to me it just seems illogical to call events pre-season of the next season when it is months before the start. I think there should be a (fully cited) list near the top of the article that lists competing teams, managers etc, and thus some of the current manager cites should move there. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 20:26, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Druryfire, it's me, GioGyan!

Listen, We both know that the following page: 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup qualification, created by User:Minhle20002013 is based on less than nothing and the text is just copy-pasted from the article about the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup qualification. If you haven't seen it yet, than take a look and see I'm right. I would like to nominate this article for deletion, but honestly: I don't knowhow to do that. I don't know if you've ever deleted an article, but I do want to ask if you could take a look at it and try to do something about it. I'm always able to talk via my user talk-page.

I've already undone Minhle20002013's edits on the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup-page. Pure non-sense.

Thanks and keep smiling!

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for further creation of unreferenced articles. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: . However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

You've been warned multiple times befoee about unreferenced material (both adding and creation) - yet you still create articles like 2013–14 Kuwait Crown Prince Cup. GiantSnowman 09:18, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Druryfire (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Seems like GiantSnowman has something agaisnt me. I create articles which link to other pages so quite clearly show that these articles do exist. But I write articles on football competitions where it's damm hard to get references. Giantsnowman knows the competition exisits but wants to show a bit of authority. If i'm not unblocked then I'll just take my articles elsewhere and low and behold the articles on Asian football will just stop. Druryfire (talk) 19:20, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

If references are not available then the article cannot be accepted. A link to another Wikipedia page is not of itself a valid reference if you are attempting to add fresh material. And attacking the blocking admin is counter-productive, as are threats to edit elsewhere. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:27, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If the article is not accepted then remove the article, don't just block someone who has created hundreds of articles with references. Look at the history of my edits and you will see that i produce more articles with references than not. Last warned in March and produced references ever since. One article goes off track and bang, gone. Giantsnowman waiting for me to slip to ban me so it seems. I can't even use my SANDBOX!!!!. Druryfire (talk) 21:58, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing shouldn't be left entirely up to other editors. -- Trevj (talk) 14:51, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sourcing isn't let entirely to other editors. I'll bring to your attention these:

And then care to look here for an unsourced page that the user isn't warned on, you see if Giantsnowman does his job correctly he will warn all Wiki members, not just follow myself around

You can't have rules for different people.

Thanks for those. I just picked the next most recent ones. Personally, I try to get the sources in while an article is a userspace draft, and then transfer something more viable to main space. -- Trevj (talk) 18:55, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning

[edit]

Sigh, I would have hoped your previous block taught you the importance of referencing your articles - but it has not, as you have just created 2013–14 Saudi Crown Prince Cup and numerous other unsourced articles. Please consider this a final warning - if you create any more unsourced articles then you will be indefinitely blocked from editing. GiantSnowman 19:49, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My 'problem' is that you continue to create unreferenced articles. I can't understand why you find it so hard to reference articles, maybe you lack the competency to edit here. GiantSnowman 20:00, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and creating poorly referenced articles - 2013–14 Bahrain First Division League and 2013 Bangladesh Federation Cup - is nearly as bad. GiantSnowman 20:03, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You have just said "every article I've created is referenced" - but then what about the 2013–14 Saudi Crown Prince Cup? You didn't reference that and I honestly doubt you would have unless I had had a word. GiantSnowman 20:10, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As you were told last time you were blocked - "if references are not available then the article cannot be accepted." GiantSnowman 20:21, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you continue to ignore my advice then please don't complain when you get blocked again, by me or another. GiantSnowman 20:26, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shame, would have been an interesting league to watch in the off-time. Maybe there might be a match or two on Sheba TV/Aden TV... heh. Thanks. --weka (talk) 19:14, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of which, it seems that [notice] says one of the league matches has been post-poned due to violence. And [this notice], all videocameras except one channel have been allowed entry to the matches... I think. I don't know Arabic... maybe you can help edit the 2013-14 season for this and see which channel might be broadcasting it? Thanks. --weka (talk) 19:20, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great. Maybe you can somehow work in some section in the 2013-14 Yemeni League for those match switches. And thanks, I'll try to get a livestream of CHANNEL MAEEN during match times. --weka (talk) 22:15, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You talking about the Yemen national football team? Thanks. I still have to re-do the national players based on soccerway's Yemen recent matches which shows all players. I'm working on Football in Yemen next. Also, interesting that Yemen didn't participate in the 2014 WAFF Championship was because the lack of funds. There was an interesting article about Yemeni football history that I can use to reference that later on. and yes -- indeed we can. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Weka (talkcontribs) 22:55, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Druryfire, I hope this find you well. Noticing that you frequently edit in e.g. 2013–14 Arabian Gulf League and keep it free from POV comments regarding the Persian Gulf naming dispute, and that you speak Farsi, I need your help to confirm a suspicion. A new editor created Ariaei Island and redirected Sir Abu Nu’ayr to Areaei Island. I have swapped that; for all I can tell the most correct title of the article is Sir Abu Nu’ayr. I would like to find sources about Areaei Island, but there seems to be nothing. Could this be a transliteration problem? But googling "جزیره آریایی" I noticed, that the article was deleted on fa.wikipedia as a تخیلات, which I assume is a hoax. Are you able to confirm that this is a hoax? Hello Druryfire,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2014 Arab U-20 Championship for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Moved to userspace

[edit]

Hey, I moved the article to your userspace at User:Druryfire/2014 Arab U-20 Championship. I think that the big issue is that it might be WP:TOOSOON for an article. We need more than one source to show notability for it. That said, this is one of those things that's very likely to happen and to be notable when it happens, so I've moved it to your userspace so you can work on it until you have enough coverage to show that it passes notability guidelines for events. BEC Tero Sasana and sourcing

[edit]

Hello. I think you've been here long enough to know that content on Wikipedia is supposed to include references to reliable published sources to verify that content. There's an ongoing problem with South and South-East Asian football club pages – a year or two ago there was massive disruption to Indonesian football club pages because so few people were watching them, and similar things with Malaysian players and Asian international teams. And without sources, those of us who try from time to time to sort out such problems can't tell what's true, what's mostly true but may have been interfered with, and what's complete rubbish.

Perhaps editors don't see the value of linking to sources in languages that most English readers can't understand, or perhaps they don't understand how this encyclopedia is supposed to work... I don't know... But that entire article is unsourced, apart from one reference to a single-competition stats page and an external link to the front page of the club website. Sources don't have to be in English, obviously. But they can't be other Wikipedia pages, and they do have to be specific: we can't expect our readers to search a whole website written in a probably unfamiliar language and alphabet to see if one of its many pages verifies a particular bit of content, but we can expect them to use a translation tool on a specific page. And they don't have to be online.

I wasn't the first to remove the content that you restored, I prefer to tag first and only remove if no-one shows any interest in adding sources. But you not only restored the unsourced content, you removed the tags on the other sections... I'll put the tags back in, but leave the content, in case you or anyone else intend to add sources. But if that content (seasons list and sponsors list} remains unsourced, it will come out again in a few days. And if the rest remains unsourced after a reasonable period of time, it too will be removed, even if it leaves the article very empty. We're not being fair to our readers if we give them nicely presented but completely unverified content. Thank you for your understanding. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:35, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thanks for adding sources to the above. I've tagged for refimprove those sections that are still need significant improvement – one reference per section is better than none, but it isn't always enough – and someone else has tagged the history section. But it's getting there.
By the way, I'd seriously advise you to leave Tommy1933's talk page alone. He's allowed to remove whatever he likes from it, with very few exceptions. Please see WP:User pages#Removal of comments, notices, and warnings. If there's anything there that anyone else wants to see, it's available in the page history. And I know you didn't post those warnings originally, but we both know for a fact there's been no vandalism at BEC Tero Sasana FC, so I'd be wary of joining in accusing people of vandalism where there hasn't been any. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:33, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Buriram United F.C. in Asia

[edit]

The article Buriram United F.C. in Asia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Club have only played a handful of continental games to date. Inherently non-notable at the moment (disregarding clear WP:NOTSTATS issues). Could be notable in the future though.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Warning icon Please stop your reverted on the pages talk me.

I don't vandalising. Just need verification. that's part of the way Wikipedia works.

Look, it's very simple - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information. If there are no sources present, the information should not be in the article. Furthermore most of your content violates WP:NPOV because you are clearly a fan of the Thai football. --Tommy Syahputra (talk) 11:49, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2014–15 Lebanese FA Cup, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2012–13 Lebanese FA Cup.

CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:21, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Try to find information on Arabic pages if you know the language, at least add just what you find, the results of finals, and write there the low importance of the competition. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:54, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of Indian football champions

[edit]

Please remove Mohun Bagan from the 2019-20 National Championship list. You have increased the number of championships list of Mohun Bagan as Mohun Bagan won the I-League 2019-20. One thing I will tell you that in October(2019) AFC has given the status of premier football league in India to the Indian Super League. So from the 2019-20 season, Indian Super League is considered as the main premier football league and I-League is considered as Second national football league in India. So from the 2019-20 season, I-League champions will be not declared as the National champions. The AFC has told that from the 2019-20 season Indian Super League Regular Season premiers will qualify for the AFC Champions League group stage and they will be declared as the best football club of India i.e, champion of India. See the 'League System' in Wikipedia portion of "Football in India'. Then you will find that I-League is now located in level - 2 on pyramid in Indian football system. So my dear friend, my request is that please don't consider the I-League 2019-20 championship of Mohun Bagan in National Championship list.
