Hi there SCRIBE, VASCO from Portugal here,
Indeed man, you are 100% correct. Since i am such a perfectionist, i sometimes go a little over the top in my intent to create the perfect article and, consequently, reflect that in the edit summary. I am terribly sorry if i sounded aggressive/abusive, not my intention. You were just trying your best, as i.
Sorry 4 any incovenience, peace, from Portugal have a great week,

VASCO - peace and love to you! Oh - if you bump into Ronaldo can you tell him to stop falling over, ta. In a bit. . . Dribblingscribe (talk) 19:17, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, he does exaggerate a bit...;)
Best wishes, VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 21:08, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
I appreciate your 'how to swiss german' hint, but I'm a native Swiss German speaker (as you might guess from my IP) and we do learn normal German with some country specific adaptions like the double ss or that we use '.' as currency decimal separater whereas Germans use ','. ß#Switzerland_and_Liechtenstein --87.102.153.130 (talk) 13:42, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[edit]So - how do I add a football team logo to a football team page? Dribblingscribe (talk) 21:36, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
You add an image using [[Image:Wikilabrador jardin.JPG|thumb|300px|Caption]] - which produces the image shown here. See WP:IMAGES for further help.
If you need help with anything else, please ask again :-) Chzz ► 21:42, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks my friend! Top bollocks! Dribblingscribe (talk) 21:43, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- You also need to tag the image with a fair use rationale & etc. If you go here User:Wiggy!/logo_tag you'll find the standard template that I use for marking up logos. If you go back to FVgg._Kastel_06 in edit mode you'll see how to add an image to the football box. If you click on the image and look at that page you'll see how to tag it up. Wiggy! Hi there - good to hear from you. I don't personally know Cyril Hawker - I just write a lot of cricketing articles, and he happened to come up on my list around this time last year.

Speedy deletion of File:Yves.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Yves.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image copyright problem with File:Gigioeri.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Gigioeri.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

GFC
[edit]Frankly, I think your characterisation of my editing, and calling me a "berk", are a little bit harsh. I've looked through all your contributions relating to GFC and can find maybe two instances where I could be said to have undone your edits. I've not undone any of your work on Albert Jarrett, Jason Brown (footballer), Mamady Sidibe, Andy Barcham, Andrew Crofts (footballer), Simon King (footballer), Andy Pugh, etc etc. I might have tidied up Gary Mulligan a little, but only to bring the references and headings in line with standard formatting, I'd hardly call it undoing your work...... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 10:03, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
I would call it spot on. You're some sort of protectionist! I could have used a really bad word. Berk isn't too bad. I'm sure you've been called worse. Dribblingscribe (talk) 10:05, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
External link guidelines
[edit]Hi, could you please stop adding links to Soccerway profiles and pages into External link article sections? This is against Wikipedia guidelines on external links (WP:EL) which suggest only official sites and links should be included in the section; in addition, Soccerway contents are not that reliable and are often incomplete, so their content might be actually misleading to the reader. If you have read them, you should follow them in future. If you don't, you'll probably be blocked from editing. I hope this is now clear enough. SHEFFIELDSTEELTALK 18:26, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
A fair point. Noted. I wouldn't call it a personal attack though. In what way was telling somebody to jog on a personal attack? I take that the language was over the top but I don't think anybody can call it a personal attack. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dribblingscribe (talk • contribs)
- My bad. I should have referred to it as incivility rather than a personal attack. Please try to stay polite with people, even when they're disagreeing with you about what should go in articles - in fact, especially then. Swiss Super League
[edit]Hi Dribblingscribe. I have seen you editing various articles about football recently and I thought that maybe you could help me with the following:
The Swiss Super League#Names changed names several times, notably in 2003. The seasonal lists at Template:Swiss Super League seasons are all at the title "Swiss Super League Season *". I'm a bit hesitant which name to use as a title for the earlier years. I thought of "Swiss national league A * (football)", "Swiss national football league A *", or using its title in German. The problem is, other sports also have national A leagues and still use that designation. The question is similar for tier below. I left a note on the talk page of the lists' creator, but he wasn't active recently. -- User:Docu

The article Stadion Birchhölzli has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Doesn't appear to meet the general notability guideline
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pontificalibus (talk) 18:04, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

The article Jason Dormon has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Eeekster (talk) 12:49, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Jason Dormon. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, without the risk of speedy deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Indiestu
[edit]Why did you create a page for Indiestu? Answer that first. DS (talk) 16:17, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- I did not create a page for him. He did it all by himself. I simply added the boxes to note his football teams. He is new to this. He saw them on my page and wanted them. Apologies if I broke any rules by helping him. Dribblingscribe 16:19, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Indiestu
- There are no contributions to that page by anyone other than you. It's permissible to have more than one Wikipedia account, as long as you don't pretend to be multiple people for the purpose of disputes, etc. So, let me ask you this flat out:
- Are you both "Dribblingscribe" and "Indiestu" ? Do both those accounts belong to the same person? DS (talk) 16:37, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Er..............No. He is one, I am another. We are best mates though. Check the ip address or something. Not guilty. Uther got a bee in his bonnet because I have challenged him. Not sure why my friend has to suffer though. Bearing in mind it is his first day on wikipedia it's not been encouraging.
All I am asking for at every step is for people to be open and honest. You can understand that, can't you? The article I wrote took time and was a good article. I see no reason to delete it and if you do I'd like to know why. Fair? Dribblingscribe 16:41, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
The above page was (in my opinion harshly) deleted by User:UtherSRG. He has been requested to say why he did so by both myself and his fellow administrators. How do I get an answer from him or his superiors? Dribblingscribe 16:23, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Administrators aren't any more powerful than anyone else (in terms of Wikipedia's structure), and in any case he is not obligated to provide any further reason aside from the deletion summary. —Jeremy v^_^v Components:V S M 17:11, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- I "fixed" the DRV listing for you. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 17:16, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
So he can simply delete it without even allowing it to be contested? Dribblingscribe 17:16, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yes. And any other administrator can restore it. We all have the same powers, limited only by the fact that we have to be able to justify our actions to each other. If we can't justify them, they get undone. And I've read the deleted content, and I decided that the deletion was not justifiable, so I restored it. DS (talk) 17:22, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Contests
[edit]User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:16, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Invite to the African Destubathon
[edit]Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
