License tagging for Image:HiwasseeReservoir.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HiwasseeReservoir.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:09, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Since the most recent vandalism is from a registered user, it wouldn't do any good to semi-protect it (since registered users can still edit/vandalize). If I fully-protected it, then you wouldn't be able to make edits. So right now I will put it on my watchlist and see if the vandalism dies down, or I can block the offender if s/he continues. ... discospinster talk 15:31, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lion King copyedit

[edit]

No problem on the copyedit—I'm just finishing up a couple other projects. I should be able to get started right away, but you probably won't see any edits until tomorrow. Today will just be analysis and note-taking. I look forward to seeing The Lion King pass its FA review. --AnnaFrance (talkblunders) 14:10, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I should be finished on Wednesday or Thursday, and I'll make sure to be handy during the next FA review, to fix any structural complaints. But thanks in the meantime for my barnstar—that's a nice lift on a Monday morning. :) --AnnaFrance (talkblunders) 12:52, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lion King Peer Review

[edit]

I have just finished the first part of a peer review of the article. I have plenty of suggestions for improvement and I can see why it has failed FA in the past. Keep working on the article and tell me when you want more suggestions. I have some now in my head but I didn't want to overwhelm you. I'll be looking into prose and referencing a bit more next time too as much can be done in those departments. I'm a big fan of The Lion King myself so I can help if you want to take it to FA in the future too. Talk to you soon. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 03:24, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I looked at the talk page and it also redirects to the same title as the article, so it looks like it's OK. Can you be more specific about your concern? ... discospinster talk 02:52, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:LionKing.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LionKing.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Schoolmascot.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Working on film articles

[edit]

Hello, I noticed your work on The Prince of Egypt and The Lion King, and I would like to thank you for your contributions to these film articles! I'm a coordinator at WikiProject Films, and I hope you can take the time to review the WikiProject's guidelines on writing film articles. With that said, I noticed that you nominated The Lion King as a FAC, but as you may have found out, there is still quite a way to go! :) If you are interested on collaborating on either The Lion King or The Prince of Egypt, I'd be happy to critique the content so far and to point you toward useful resources. (For example, there is a book that is called Religion, Media, and the Marketplace with a chapter called, "Cartoon Wars: The Prince of Egypt in retrospect.") Please let me know if you have any questions! —Erik (talkcontrib) 00:34, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Red sea.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Red sea.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 19:48, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Avatar's health effects on viewers

[edit]

Hi. I'm not convinced this deserves its own section. The problem is endemic to 3D film and television in general and is not unique to this particular production. Would you consider merging it into another section? Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 10:10, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it doesn't need its own section and it seems that someone has already removed it. If it is put back Ill revert and discuss consensus on the talk page. DrNegative (talk) 16:56, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Avatar Critical reception rewrite

[edit]

DrNegative, thanks for your contribution and meaningful discussions on Avatar. Following yours and some other editors' suggestions, I have proposed a restructured Critical reception section for discussion here, hoping to try and accommodate a deeper and more balanced coverage of the film internationally. Please have a look. I hope we can resolve this impasse and work out something everybody or most will be happy with. Regards, Cinosaur (talk) 11:29, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Avatar's Historical Depiction

[edit]

DrNegative, I'm cool with standardizing the movie templates but I'm not sure where did you want me to move my section even after having a look at MOS:Film, so I've put back my piece as the Plot seemed the most appropriate. Please feel free to *move* it to another section, not totally remove it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Theremes (talkcontribs) 18:40, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did not remove the section. It was removed and challenged on the talk page by another editor. Policy dictates that we now stretch for consensus in regards to the challenge. DrNegative (talk) 18:51, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Moved it under "Themes" to match the template. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Theremes (talkcontribs) 18:54, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
