COI check

Hello DownTownRich. Do you have any links with the companies whose articles you edit? Cheers 1292simon (talk) 00:48, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Which ones specifically? DownTownRich (talk) 12:22, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

The ones in this list please. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 08:49, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

No I do not have any links with the organizations, even when I edit I make sure that most of the information I add or edit is from valuable sources and viable to Wikipedia. If an article I think deserves to be on Wikipedia but I find not much information of value on it I make it a stub to allow other editors to add on to it. Every time I do this I make sure that I am neutral while at it. DownTownRich (talk) 16:55, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks Rich, that is great to hear. Your aims to add sources and maintain neutrality are very commendable. Happy editing! Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 09:28, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from GoDaddy into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. MarioGom (talk) 13:40, 5 January 2022 (UTC) {{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}}

Anthony Carter page move

Hi there. Your move close at Talk:Anthony Carter (basketball) was not formatted correctly, so I fixed it.[1] Additionally, it doesn't seem like Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions was followed. The disambiguation page was not moved to the base title (I went and moved it), and the old incoming links to the basketball player at Anthony Carter were not fixed (it's been tagged).—Bagumba (talk) 11:25, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the fixes DownTownRich (talk) 18:17, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Nora bint Faisal Al Saud

Please look the talk page to see the news. She is not the person who died. --Egeymi (talk) 09:23, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Was sectioning the existing information. Seems she shares a name with another Princess? The article needs to stipulate she shares the name with the daughter of King Faisal. Will discuss further at the article talk page. - DownTownRich (talk) 09:27, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
Then add there what you are proposing using the dmy dates set for the article. --Egeymi (talk) 10:27, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted

Hi DownTownRich, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 22:44, 15 April 2022 (UTC) {{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}}

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine. Thanks! Fade258 (talk) 03:48, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Important Notice

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Syrian Civil War and ISIL. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose discretionary sanctions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

You put the following on my talk page:

"An edit that you recently made to Wikipedia:Sandbox seemed to be a test and has been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use the sandbox."

I used the sandbox, and yet I got a warning for doing so, and was told to use the sandbox???

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 00:37, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

The sources are pretty clearly cited in the body of the article. There is no need for a "citation needed" tag. If you insist, you can cite the sources present in the body. Hemiauchenia (talk) 05:14, 12 October 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for mentioning Lead Section Citations.
As a general rule of thumb, a lead section should contain no more than four well-composed paragraphs and be carefully sourced as appropriate
I added that tag because the lead section of the article had zero citations and with the current events and coverage different sources can be used without repeating to provide the community with confidence that the information is properly sourced, verified and not part of any misinformation.
