Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Telehealth. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Thank you for your reply. I'm a big fan of wikipedia and would be grateful for any advice on how best to address the gap in the detail in the section on telehealth for sub-Saharan Africa.
My last edit was 'The Virtual Doctors service provides a bespoke telemedicine mobile app that connects health centres in rural Zambia and Malawi with volunteer doctors. Clinical Officers based in often isolated areas seek advice on how to diagnose, treat, and manage cases that present to their health facilities. The Virtual Doctors is a UK registered charity (charity number 1129924), relying entirely on charitable donations and receive no government grants or funding. Training is provided to the clinical officers and volunteer doctors from the outset, as well as sustained medical and technical support, education, and feedback. The vision is a telemedicine service that is embedded into the national health care system.'
I feel that the 'edit' information provides an improved explanation of the situation regarding access to healthcare than the former ('leaving room for telehealth to grow and reach isolated people in the near future').
Is the issue regarding the provision of the charity number, the mention of how The Virtual Doctors in funded, or something else?
Thanks for your time. Donal Farrell (talk) 17:13, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The issue is that Wikipedia is not a place to promote or list groups like that, not even charities. Are you associated with the organization somehow? MrOllie (talk) 17:23, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I understand that. Yes, I contribute as a volunteer doctor. Donal Farrell (talk) 19:01, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
