204.39.82.41 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
[edit]Discussion The IP address 204.39.82.41, is registered to Lincoln Park High School of Michigan and has been used to introduce either vandalism or page-blanks since June 1, 2006.
I count 4 warnings, two "please stops" and a temporary block on 7.February. Approximately 500 edits have been introduced. About 50 were inspected, all of them are vandalism.
The following pages were edited to introduce silly, scatalogical, or sexual references, page blanking and marking of pages such as "HELLO PEOPLE", "I AM GOD" etc.
- Beaver
- Balin
- Chaz
- Corbin
- Billy Holiday
- Magic Johnson
- Kevin
- Xhosa
- Saint Nicholas
- Sharing
- Early Middle Ages
- Middle Ages
- Shark
- Portal Science
- Lincoln Park, Michigan
In a number of cases a name is given in the edit:
"cody whorley was here"
http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Sailboat&diff=prev&oldid=108668644
"john curtiss he is the king off all people !!! he rules you"
http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=King&diff=prev&oldid=105163626
other names mentioned (presumeably class mates of the person):
"john mckeever straight e student"
http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=McKeever_And_The_Colonel&diff=prev&oldid=105162698
"corbin smith best street corner hoe"
http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Corbin&diff=prev&oldid=108667795
"Kevin is a BEAVER"
http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Beaver&diff=prev&oldid=106376381
The vandalism continued on the 15th and 16th of February with edits to:
- Alienware
- Morgan Freeman
- Scott
- Guppy
Since all the edits are vandalism and often the same names and jokes appear it
seems likely the IP is being used by one person or a few friends to introduce
vandalism at wikipedia.

Your question
[edit]Hello. I've now looked closer at the IP in question. You do not need to report anything at this stage. 204.39.82.41 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) is a school IP, shared by multiple student workstations. We receive lots of vandalism from schools. However, this school IP has not vandalised today, so we can't block it now. In the future, please do the following if you see an IP vandalising:
- check that it has vandalised after receiving an explicit final warning on its talk page,
- go to WP:AIV,
- add the following in the "user-reported" section there:
- * {{IPvandal|IP address}} brief reason for listing (keep it short) ~~~~
- An administrator will then take care of the vandal.
I hope this helps. Best, Sandstein 17:14, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
