Notice

The article Catalan Journal of Theology has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. The entry in the Enciclopèdia Catalana is extremely brief. Neither the Spanish or Catalan wiki articles contain any other sources showing notability (sources are library entries or don't even mention this journal). Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 12:57, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Randykitty: Hi, I added some early history of this journal as it appear in catalan version of page, and even this page is no longer orphan. Frederic Raurell page links to Catalan Journal of Theology, and I will translate soon Josep Rius-Camps entry into English. Please, let me know what I must to do to mantain page. --Dgilso (talk) 13:43, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This should be nominated for deletion as non-notable. Mathglot (talk) 08:58, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathglot: I added external, independent sources and referenes from Journal. See references 4, 6 and 8 as well. Dgilso (talk) 09:56, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying or translating articles requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from ca:Comprendre (Revista) to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.  Courtesy link: Draft:Comprendre (journal). Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 08:46, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Going forward, please add the required attribution statement to the edit summary at the same time as you translate some content. For unattributed articles created earlier, please see Repairing insufficient attribution, such as for these articles you created:

as well as for any other articles you contributed translated content to, such as Pere Tena Garriga. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me below, or on my Talk page. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 08:53, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just edit summary from this entries as you indicate, linking to original text in Catalan or Spanish Wikipedia. Dgilso (talk) 09:09, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathglot: Hi, I just edit summary from this entries as you indicate, linking to original text in Catalan or Spanish Wikipedia. Dgilso (talk) 09:20, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't appear that any of those five article have been edited just now, so I'm not sure I understand what you meant in your last message. Mathglot (talk) 09:55, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathglot: Please, can you indicate me where I must write "Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at fr:Exact name of French article; see its history for attribution." I let you my email in order to see screenshots dgil@tutanota.com Dgilso (talk) 10:01, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathglot: I added this in Talk Page: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Association_of_Librarians_of_the_Church_in_Spain. Is it correct now? Dgilso (talk) 10:13, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Almost. It's in the wrong place: it goes in the edit summary of the article; the edit summary is just above the Preview and Publish buttons when you are editing the article. Your wording is correct for a *new* translation, but this is an old translation, so the wording is different. I've added a new dummy edit to the article (just fiddling with blank spaces, so no real change in content) and added this edit summary:
Repairing insufficient attribution: Content in the previous edit of 14:29, 22 March 2020 was translated from the existing Catalan Wikipedia article at [[:ca:Associació de Bibliotecaris de l'Església a Espanya]]; see its history for attribution.
You can see it in this edit. When you add a *new* translations to en-wiki going forward, the wording is simpler if you add it to the edit summary at the same time as you do save the translation; see WP:TFOLWP for an example you can copy and paste. Does this make sense? Mathglot (talk) 17:16, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding Wikipedia's coverage of Catalan topics

[edit]

Dgilso, I'm sympathetic to your desire to create articles on Catalan topics, or to expand existing articles about them. I do that as well occasionally. However, you need to ensure that the topics you are choosing pass the threshold of WP:Notability on English Wikipedia; just because an article like ca:Revista Catalana de Teologia exists on Catalan Wikipedia, does not mean that it meets the requirements for an article here; different language Wikipedias have different rules, and I fear that some of the articles you have already created may end up being deleted. I can help you find articles on Catalan topics that *do* meet notability requirements, and that do not yet exist on English Wikipedia. If you want help with this, please tell me if you have preferred topic areas you like to work on. If yoiu reply below, you can add {{Reply|Mathglot}} to your message, and I'll be notified automatically. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 09:06, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Mathglot: Good morning. Yes, please, It will be amazing if you can help me to improve article on Catalan topis in English Wikipedia. I'm working in an Eclesiastic Library, so, topics about religious are interesting for my workplace. In fact, more of articles I've translated are about religion. On the other hand, I writed two articles in English (http://eprints.rclis.org/43066/) and (http://eprints.rclis.org/33852/), and I don't know if this articles could be usefull to improve, adding references or text, into any articles in English Wikipedia. PD: Sorry for my bad english! Dgilso (talk) 09:19, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your English is pretty good but has some mistakes and may require copy editing to bring up to a good standard, but that doesn't matter, as long as what you write is comprehensible, which it is. I speak Catalan at a basic level, but with my strong Spanish, I understand written Catalan quite well, and spoken Catalan fairly well. This is English Wikipedia, so we should communicate in English, but if you're ever not sure how to say something in English, just say it in Catalan and I'll probably understand it. We can talk more in the coming days and weeks, but to get you started thinking about this, here is are a couple of lists of articles that can be found on Catalan Wikipedia ("ca-wiki"), but not yet on English Wikipedia ("en-wiki"):
It may be almost too much, but it gives you an idea of the scope and breadth of articles that need translation. Mathglot (talk) 09:43, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
