Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Singaporean Poetry, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://literatureforreal.blogspot.com/2011/03/poetry-in-singapore.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:31, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Singaporean Poetry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.primidi.com/singaporean_literature/literature_in_english/poetry. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information icon Hello, I'm Lemongirl942. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Alvin Pang, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I do not have multiple accounts, only this one, and do not see why I should be blocked. Am happy to prove it in any acceptable way

Decline reason:

Behavioural and/or technical evidence strongly suggests that this account is a sockpuppet. Simple denial is not considered a sufficient reason to unblock the account. In order to be unblocked, you will need to convince the reviewing administrator that there is a better explanation for this apparent connection than the abuse of multiple accounts. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What's your relation to Lightsup112? You both posted very similar votes at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joshua Ip, and you both contributed to Joshua Ip#Reverted edits. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 09:03, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Desapar (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Surely there must be a way to compare IP addresses. I do not know who is behind Lightsup112, and do not see why my account's activity should be pegged to what happens to Joshua Ip who is only one of several known public figures in the Singaporean literary scene I have commented on over the years. While not very active, mine is not a recent account. Desapar (talk) 22:14, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You still haven't given us an explanation for why you and Lightsup112 are posting similar messages to the same pages. I will be blunt: the only way for you to be unblocked is to address that issue. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:49, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Desapar (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Since I do not know who Lightsup112 is, I have no idea why they would post something similar to me, and the evidence trail also shows these are different accounts on different devices. Perhaps it is another person echoing my argument.

In the very small SGP literary scene, COI is inevitable -- I am prepared to accept a TBan on Joshua Ip if that addresses this specific issue for my account (desapar), although it will not address potential bias or grudge against the entry by the reporting account. Desapar (talk) 23:56, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:51, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you. I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. Please describe how your editing was unconstructive and how you would edit constructively if unblocked.

Please read Wikipedia's Guide to appealing blocks for more information. (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Guide_to_appealing_blocks)

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you at this time. As you still have access to your talk page, and as there is no private information associated with your appeal, please post your unblock request to your user talk page for administrator review. Place the following at the bottom of your talk page, filling in "Your reason here "

 {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Thank you for your attention to these matters

PS, as I sid above, please read and heed WP:COI. Please discuss your relationship to the subject here. And yes, a moment's socking can destroy a reputaion that was built over years of work. --Deep fried okra (schalte ein) 23:32, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
